Professor Feline turned back around with bowls of specially formulated dustling and fox food, but she paused for a moment as she noticed the much larger dustling affectionately curling his tail around the winged fox. She set the food down.
Zureus began to step closer to Memory, taking in her delectable scent, but the sound of a foodbowl scraping the ground turned his attention away like a mirror's reflection. He spun around and nearly scampered right into the bowl.
Feline looked at the pair for a moment and shook her head, smiling. "Heh, what a silly idea... how could a dustling and a fox fall in love? It's... well, it's just impossible." She took another look. "...Isn't it?"
With her clipboard in the crook of her arm and a pencil in her hand, she began to take notes. "If you two want to stay here for the night," she said, intermittently stopping to write something down, "there's an extra room in the back." She looked at them sadly, knowing as well as they did that it was impossible for them to breed.

"I don't really know him..." Memory smiled up at Lux and leaned up against him, then blinked as Zureus went straight for the food. This was really odd. She looked up at Feline and then nodded, she wouldn't mind staying the night. Her human rarely ever worried where they were. "Would you like to stay, Lux? We can go meet my human and the rest of my family tomorrow."

Lux nodded and nuzzled Memory's shoulder, before moving and lightly cuffing the other fox out of the way, in order to pull the bowl to Memory. He didn't mean to be mean, but she deserved food, and she wouldn't be able to eat what was put down for him... would she? Thinking about it, he grabbed the other bowl and set that before her too, standing guard over them both. She would be able to pick her meal, then and only then would he reliquish the second bowl. Turning to look at the other fox, he hissed clacking his beak and keeping his eye on him. "Please eat Memory, you must be hungry.

Feline smiled at the accepted invitation and retreated to the back room to prepare it for her guests. She even threw in one of Vestakia's favorite throwpillows.
Zureus did not enjoy having his food taken away. He growled at the dustling, but knew fighting such a large beast would be a losing battle for sure. He gave Lux a final glare and a deep, throaty growl before turning and stalking up the stairs, tail between his legs.
Feline returned just in time to see. "That's odd... I fed him before, anyways. He didn't need it."
She pointed to the cozy room in back. "There's your room. And... You probably can't understand me... but... I'm just amazed a dustling and a starfox have even survived this far in a relationship. It's so touching." She smiled weakly. "Have a nice night... I wish I could help.
Maybe I could? she thought, staring down at her clipboard. She had no plan in mind, but she wanted to help them.

Memory sniffed at the food Lux pulled over and began eating out of the one Zureus had been. She felt a little bad that Zureus had the food taken away from him, but she was hungry after all and was thankfull that Lux had gotten her the food.
Once she had filled her stomach, she looked up at Lux and yawned a little. She always got sleepy after she ate, she stayed near him though, waiting for him if he wanted to eat. "You hungry too, Lux?"
She fluffed her wings again and looked towards the room that Feline had set up for them.

As soon as he knew that Memory had her fill, he pushed the bowl back, and nibbled a bit on his own food. This takeing not very long at all, he then nuzzled her side. "Come, lets find a nice place to nest for the night." He rubbed against the fox's side, leading her carefully to the room that he had seen opened for them. The whole time he kept a careful and sentanent watch for anything that may come to attack or get in the way. "Memory.. I know we are not.. compatable.. but.. maybe this is a bad time." He took a breath. "Memory.. will you stay with me?"
The silvery marked blue dust bowed his head. "I don't know how to ask right.. I want you by my side. I never felt so alive as I do now. Never felt such a purpose as I do when you are near.." He licked her nose and ears carefully.

Feline watched them go in. The feeling of sorrow over the unfairness of fate was palpable in the air as Feline followed them in to make sure they had enough room and the window was slightly cracked open to allow air in. She sighed.
Leaving them alone, she sulked to her lab counter. She knew she had been experimenting weeks ago with dustling and serpent breedings... but fox and dustling? The size difference wasn't the only problem. It was genetics.
"If only I could change his genes..."
She took out a couple bottles of liquid and concentrated, wondering what she could possibly do for them. The sun had set and the stars began to twinkle vigorously.

Memory settled down in the room and listened to Lux's question. She thought carefully for a moment and then nodded, "Of course, I will stay with you." She yawned again and then returned the affection, murring and giving him little licks and kisses, just showering Lux with love. "Will you stay with me?"

A look of bemused happiness crossed the features of the dust dragon, and he pulled her a bit closer a soft rumbling purr running through his form. "Till the end of my days, or such a time as you ask me not to, I will stay with you. Never have I felt that something was missing from my life, until I met you. I then realized... you were the one I was waiting for, I was alone, because.. I hadn't met you yet." He smiled and wrapped his feathery tail around Memory.
In the moments after, he made a point of greatfully showing her just how much he ment each and every word he had just said. Maybe nature never intended for the two to fall in love, but sometimes, nature doesn't understand.

...It had been a long night.
The sun was barely beginning to rise and shine as Feline finished her experiment. Her eyes had bags the size of a lady's purse, but she could hardly sleep even if she wanted to. Her counter was covered in miscellaneous spills, vials, beakers, and bits of who-knows-what here and there. However, enclosed delicately in her gloved hands, was a bottle. It appeared empty, but it held the greatest result of an experiment that she had ever created.
"There's a slight chance it could kill the blue dustling... a slight chance, but it's there. Or it can gain a disease.. or, a number of other problems. But.. I think he'd be willing to take the risk."
Feline waited until the sun was a bit higher, high enough to declare it "morning", and softly pushed open the door to her 'guest' room. She silently admired the sweet couple, tied tightly around each other like they could never be separated.
She roused the male gently. "Hey... hey, wake up..." she whispered, "I have something for you."
((Krissie doesn't need a post now because... well, Memory is asleep. X3))

Lux opened his eyes, instantly wary that something or someone was trying to take Memory away from him. Noticeing the human he lifted his head and tilted it quizically to the side. Was she here to repremend him for takeing the food so that Memory could eat? He would deal with that if it was the case. Streatching his neck a bit he tried to show the human that he was interested in what she had to say or do, yet he was not planning on moving at the moment.

Feline, relieved that the dustling's first reaction was not to bite her face off, kneeled beside the dustling and revealed the vial of clear liquid to him. "I could explain the contents of this to you.. but I'm sure you can't understand a word I'm saying." She sighed, and looked into the blue dustling's eyes. "If you let me inject you with this... well... there are great risks, but I believe it will work." She pointed at Memory, and then she pointed back at the dustling. "You'll become a fox." She pointed once more for clarity, hoping the dustling could understand.
I should probably ask this dustling's owner beforehand about this experiment... but I've never even seen him before, she thought, nervously, as she hooked the vial up to a syringe. Oh well.
Brandishing the needle, Feline stroked the dustling's head cautiously, waiting to see if it was alright to proceed.

Lux looked at Memory, then at the vial, then back again. He didn't understand, but it seemed the human was trying to tell him something about this stuff, and about the sweet fox he was curled beside. Shifting a bit he nuzzled Memory, licking her ear before almost seeming to give permission. She wasn't trying to move him away, so it couldn't be all bad. The words to him were nothing more than babble that confused his mind.
Outside the facility Steal was dodgeing the wrath of two very angry creatures. A demonic fox that was hungry, and an insane halfbreed that wanted a bird to eat... and to listen to. x.x Lux sadly was far from his mind at the moment. "Kyaaaaaa!!! Save me!"

Feline heard sounds coming from outside, but shook her head and decided she must be going insane. "Hm.. yes.. this will hurt, but only for a second." She knew it was a bad idea to trust a strange dustling too much, but she took the risk of a bite or scratch and gently eased the needle into the dustling's forearm. Pushing the lever on top, the clear liquid slowly entered his bloodstream.
((You can RP the transformation however ya want. What a nice surprise Memory will have. XD; ))

Lux gave a soft hiss at the needle went in, and he turned his head against Memory. It never crossed his mind to lash out at the human, that was an unspeakable action and one not to be contemplated. Instead he closed his eyes and waited for the sting to pass, which it soon did.
What came next was a shock though, an icey yet heated feeling surged through him, and an aching passed through his bones. It was like something was going on inside that he had no control over. Giving a small muffled cry he hid his face against the warm side of the fox he was laying with, his eyes closed tighter than ever.
From inside of him came a soft cracking sound, marking the shift in his bone structure and form... the change was upon him, and all he could do was wait it out.. not knowing what was happening.
((Okay, so he changes form, but for how long.. anything i need to know.. like it lasts a week, its permanent, or he can change at will etc. ))
