Your gaia name, why have you chose your gaian name to be what it is?
JoshuaKenzo. My real name plus my artist name. ^^

Your location (doesn't have to be exact): At about 20 miles from Amsterdam, in the Netherlands.

Age: 18.

How long you've trained for:
Since my fifteenth. Two and a half/three years, depending on the martial art.

The Styles I used to practice and practice today:
Aikido, Judo, Kendo, Iaido since late 2002. Wushu since last christmas. Bajutsu since February. ^^ But I'll only seriously take it up after this summer. Right now, I'm too busy.

What you look like in real life (just a description, height, weight, build etc).
User Image

You fitness level (how well conditioned you feel you are)
I'm not really that fit. Despite the fact that I'm constantly hyperactive.
Maybe it's being hyperactive all day that makes I can't last at the end of it, when we train... I should stop that. XD

How often do you train.
I should train every day in different styles, adding up to about 20 hours a week... That rarely works out, though. crying Public transport's a b***h.

Areas you'd like to improve on in your training.
Everything. Duh. XD

Most valuable lesson learnt:
You don't have to win the match to win the match.

One piece of advice you'd give fellow member of the bullshido guild.
Now that you're an official member of the bullshido guild, it's time for you to prove yourself. KAMEHAMEHA NOW!! DEFEND YOURSELF! (isn't it the anti-bullshido guild? XD)

Ambitions what are your current goals?
To practice more. My job is something of an obstacle, sometimes, though.

Let's see here...My Gaian name is Eric Wolfborn, which is a longstanding handle I've been using. I'm not sure where it came from, exactly, aside from a fondness for the North American Red Wolf and too much Dungeons and Dragons.

I live just outside Philadelphia, PA, in a modest apartment with a few friends.

I'll be 21 in April.

I studied Takachi Taekwondo for just over a year. (Takachi incorporates Judo and Jiu Jitsu to make up for TKD's lack of grappling.) I'm currenty studying Shotokan Karate at Temple. (Five months and counting.) I'm struggling vainly to teach myself Taijiquan Tai Chi in my spare time.

Hm...I'm six feet tall, with mid-back length brown hair and pretty regular stubble. My eyes change colors depending on the weather. I'm a white dude, about 190 lbs, and I'm built pretty solidly.

I'm in pretty good shape. I make it a point to spar high belts whenever I can, so I can take a beating without much trouble. My lung capacity needs some work, but overall I'd say I'm pretty sound.

School's been cutting into my training time. Once finals calms down, I'm going to get back to lifting and endurance training.

I usually train twice a day, but lately I've had less time than I would like.

Speed is what I need. I'm not nearly as fast as I need to be. I'm strong like bull, but it takes me way too long to get techniques around. I'm weak on my left side, as well, and I sometimes fall into patterns.

The most valuable lesson I've learned is to play it safe. Always overestimate your oponent, and avoid making assumptions based on fighting style.

If I had any advice to give, I'd say 'Afford others the same measure of respect you would expect them to afford you. Even if their style seems less powerful to you, remember: every art has merit. It comes down to the fighters.

I'd like to attain a black belt in ANY art. I've studied a few, but I'd much rather be skilled with one than be a jack of all trades.

Hm...I pretty much followed the suggestion on the first page. If anyone has any other questions, hit up my inbox.

Eric Wolfborn

Mr. Cynical

PostPosted: Sat Dec 03, 2005 6:15 pm

Your gaia name, why have you chose your gaian name to be what it is?
Mr. Cynical - Well, I've been to alot of forums on Gaia before this profile was created, and well, most of the things people would post were FOS. But then again, I might have drifted into the Chatterbox. Anyway, that's how it came to be, and because I like to think of myself as cynical.

Your location (doesn't have to be exact):
Hutchinson, Minnesota
Your age:
18 (but will be 19 in 6 days)
How long you've trained for:
Since I've seen the Three Ninjas for the first time. And even then, I don't think of what me and my friends do as training. I think of it more as just brawling with equipment.
The Styles you used to practice and how long you trained in that style/s for:
TKD (WTF) for 4 months- Orange belt
The Styles you currently practice and how long you've practiced them for:
None at the moment, I'm hoping to find a BJJ school in MN though.
What you look like in real life (just a description, height, weight, build etc).
Blonde (not natural), 6' 3", 180lbs, and you could say I'm thin (or skinny just to be funny)
You fitness level (how well conditioned you feel you are)
Not very good anymore, hoping to change that though
Additional Training (weights, running, yoga etc)
Swimming for the past 6 years. I went to state, and our team took second, if that means anything.
How often do you train.
Anytime I can. I almost never get anytime to train at all. If I do get to train, it's usually four hours a day, with some cardio, heavy bag drills.
Areas you'd like to improve on in your training.
My hooks, and jabs
Most valuable lesson learnt:
KEEP YOUR DAMNED HANDS UP!!
One piece of advice you'd give fellow member of the bullshido guild.
KEEP YOUR DAMNED HANDS UP!!
Ambitions what are your current goals?
To get stronger, and to find people near my area that would love to spar full contact, just to see if I need anymore focus on a specific area in my training. Also, in the future I would really like to see if I can get into Pride/UFC or something. It's a long ways away, but I can always dream.

Your gaia name, why have you chose your gaian name to be what it is?
Kermi. I was nicknamed Kermit in high school because my last name is vaguely similar to it. In high school they shortened it to Kermi and it stuck. I barely even associate Kermi with Kermit anymore.

Your location (doesn't have to be exact):
Sydney, Australia

Your age:
23

How long you've trained for:
Not in trianing at present, and all up I've probably only trained four years.

The Styles you used to practice and how long you trained in that style/s for:
Tae Kwon Do: 1/2 year (when I was 9)
Tae Kwon Do: 2 1/2 years (when I was 19)
Kung Fu: 1 year (this year)

The Styles you currently practice and how long you've practiced them for:
Not currently in training.

What you look like in real life (just a description, height, weight, build etc).
6'3", heavy/broad-shouldered build, a little overweight but mostly muscular.

You fitness level (how well conditioned you feel you are)
Average.

Additional Training (weights, running, yoga etc)
Jogging. Occasionally hit the weights.

How often do you train.
I exercise twice a week and go through tae kwon do techniques.

Areas you'd like to improve on in your training.
Stamina.

Most valuable lesson learnt:
It's a little silly, but "keep your guard up" is probably the one that was drilled home most effectively, when a reverse roundhouse split my eyebrow in sparring.

One piece of advice you'd give fellow member of the bullshido guild.
Reign in the ego, perhaps? Not that that's directed at anyone or anything, but when it comes to martial arts discussion you get the ego-trippers who don't like being wrong. Sometimes you gotta accept that possibility that you are.

Ambitions: what are your current goals?
Improve my fitness and finish university.

My Gaia name is Wolf3001 I have a thing for wolves. My real name is Heath.

I am 22 years old and I am from Garden City Kansas.

I have traind in Tae Kwon Do for a short time and later I started Wing Chun. I have around five years of training in Wing Chun and am two levels away from being a teacher in my class.

(how well conditioned you feel you are) I need more I could say I have been going to tech school and life in the dorms has made me gain weight. I normaly weigh 230 now I am 240 I lift weights when I can but lately I just don't have the time. I plan to get some hard training done once this year ends this is my last year I am takeing welding.

I train when I can for as long as I have been in school I have had littel practice. I am known to walk around doing kung fu stuff I practice my stance wile welding and some of my friends like to throw punches at me from time to time so I get some in. Now that school is almost over I will be training more.

Areas you'd like to improve on in your training. Well every thing can be improved and I need alot of training to get where I want to be. I have been playing around with the idea of geting into the Jujutsu school here so I can learn some trows and other things while I am training in Wing Chun.

Most valuable lesson learnt: Every one of them is valuable in my opinion I read alot on other styles so I get info where ever I can. Some things may be useful in one situation but not another. I always keep an open mind about things nothing should be overlooked.

A piece of advice I would give is don't underestimate a style all of them have there strengths. Its up to us to fix the weak points in our styles and every style has a weakness there is no supreme fighting art.

Current goals? To one day reach the point that I feel strong. I want to have the ability to take on any one who may try to hurt me or some one I know. To me fighting with your own body means more than learning to use a weapon I have always liked fighting training in martial arts keeps me happy. I also collect knives swords armor and other things becaus of my love for warfare not modern stuff just older things.

If you go to my page I have a bunch of things in my journal links that I wanted to save some art pics of me and friends.

Your gaia name, why have you chose your gaian name to be what it is? Nakah is a God of fists who actually is nothing like me, again an original character.
Your location (doesn't have to be exact):
Toronto, Ontario!!!!(Ok I'll stop)

Your age:21(1985)

How long you've trained for:
As an actual style, six months, as for random grappling and sparring maybe like ten years.

The Styles you used to practice and how long you trained in that style/s for:
Kung Fu(yata yata Hun Gar, Ba Gua, Wing Chuan), Chi Kung(and I know this is merely a breathing excercise), for about six months

The Styles you currently practice and how long you've practiced them for:

Next week I start Muay Thai!!<3333(finally, I had let the whole martial arts thing slide in my priority list until a friend brought it up)
What you look like in real life (just a description, height, weight, build etc).hight:
My hair is short now!!I am under the suspicion that I am closer to 6'1" than 6'0" and I've gained a crapload of weight, now at 176, though I want to get to at least 185.

Your fitness level (how well conditioned you feel you are)
Pretty damn good and since I finally feel like I am actually dedicated, the results will just pour in.
Additional Training (weights, running, yoga etc)
Benching 140 lbs. I want to get it up to 220 lbs.
Curling 40 lbs. want to get it up to 60 lbs. at least.
Gym stuff is pretty much the bulk of my conditioning.

How often do you train.

I try to make the gym two to three times a week, since I go hard, it's pretty good.

Areas you'd like to improve on in your training.

Everything man I suck. xd

Most valuable lesson learnt:

Hmmm I don't have an answer for that...

One piece of advice you'd give fellow member of the bullshido guild.

When keeping it real, pick your spots.

Ambitions what are your current goals?

To one day get into some sort of MA or MMA tourney, strictly for fun.

A lot of things have changed ever since.

Your gaia name, why have you chose your gaian name to be what it is?
The Bull Of The North. I'm a nerd who is a fan of table-top RPGs, and one of my favorites is one called "Exalted". A famous "Solar Exalted" in the game is The Bull of the North. He was a cool character idea and the title just seemed cool to me.

Your location (doesn't have to be exact): South Florida.

Your age: Eighteen.

How long you've trained for: I'd say, I started seriously training around fourteen, so about four years.

The Styles you used to practice and how long you trained in that style/s for: Shaolin Kung fu for a little over two years. Western style boxing I dabbled in. Unfortunately, I haven't found a good school in my area, that incorporated striking and grappling martial arts. So I'm currently still looking. Mostly, I've tried my best to learn on my own from people I know who are martial artists the basics of grappling and groundfighting, and I continued to self-train in the striking aspect of which I was pretty good at, with my experience in boxing and the kung-fu school I went to (which was a McDojo, but at least they taught proper striking techniques).

The Styles you currently practice and how long you've practiced them for: Currently looking. One of the reasons I joined was to talk to people of different styles and see what style might be best for me, and get some advice on looking for a school near me. Other than that, I self-train.

What you look like in real life (just a description, height, weight, build etc). About 5'6, 155 lbs. Lean muscle. Not huge, but a fairly good build.

You fitness level (how well conditioned you feel you are) I feel I'm in pretty good shape. I've got a decent amount of muscle, and have pretty good stamina. I also play soccer as a hobby, so that keeps me fit.

Additional Training (weights, running, yoga etc) Soccer keeps me in good cardio shape. Lately, because of the hectic schedule of school I haven't been able to work out at all. But I'm going to go to my local gym to start doing weights with some friends, as opposed to my normal routine of push ups, sit ups, and pull ups.

How often do you train. I try to self train as often as I can, whether that be a friendly sparring match with a friend, or just hitting a bag. Like I said, unfortunately, I haven't found a good school, but I'd like to so I can actually start some good training. Usually, with my schedule, that's about three to four times during the week, when I would normally work out.

Areas you'd like to improve on in your training. All around. But particularly, I feel I've got good background to be confident in my striking. I definitely need working on grappling (clinch fighting and ground fighting), which is why i'd like to find a school that will teach me a good amount of both striking and grappling while sparring.

Most valuable lesson learnt: Never hesitate to use what you know should the situation call for it.

One piece of advice you'd give fellow member of the bullshido guild. Being open-minded and willing to see one's flaws, from what I've learned, garners good experiences, both in martial arts and in life in general.

Ambitions what are your current goals? To get stronger and become a better student of the martial arts, and learn from people who are better than I am.
