Fre turned to look over her shoulder when the coast was clear. He was still on to her and she knew she had better speed up of she'd loose the race. There was no way she was going to do that, she was way too determined now. She put a little burst of speed in, getting her about five more feet ahead, but she could feel herself getting tired. Come on, you can do it.
((I say a die roll from a 10-sided die. Even...date, odd day off.))

at her burst of speed he quickened his pace, silver hair flying behind his now glistening form. There was no way that she was winning.

Come on body, just a little further. Just ahead of her she could see the top end of the lake. Giving it everything she had left in her she left Raken in the dust. Of course her pace slowed some as she reached the bank of the lake, but she had won and she proudly collapsed in to the cool water. Fre took a few breaths, trying to get herself together, "I won, I won!"

eek ...oh what had he done? Shaking his head he continued to run, diving into the lake once far enough in. Raken resurfaced. "About this date...it is a friend date...right?" sweatdrop

Fre giggled and waded out further into the water. With a giant splash she fell under the water only to surface a moment later on her back. "Before I answer that, first some ground rules. No training, no books, and no babies. Just us two...the lake...and a picinic basket."

"Yeah," she said slyly as she floated away. "You have to have fun and be nice." When she realized that she was floating further and further away she sat up and began to tred water. Fre smiled sweetly and she swam back towards him. "Now...when and what time?"

"It's a date date," Fre giggled and winked at him. She knew he wouldn't be happy with it, but he'd just have to deal. Once again she floated onto her back to give her tired legs a rest. "And tomorrow is perfect."

sweatdrop A date date? A day of solitary reading was NOT worth this. Curse him a WEEK wasn't worth it! "A date date." He said dryly. "You're pretty and cheerful, why do you want to go out with me and not some other guy?" Maybe one that's willing. He finished offhandedly in his mind.

"Well thank you," despite the compliment she sighed. "There's a downfall to being pretty and cheerful too ya know. Means your untouchable." Without another word Fre took a huge breath of air and dove under the water. She honestly didn't want to talk about why she had never been on many dates...well hardly any dates at all.

He sighed when she dove under the water. Untouchable. That seemed unlikely with out persistant she was. Eventually any pae would cave. Raken dipped under the water as well, swimming under the surface to the centar before popped up again for air.

Fre slowly made her way to the center of the lake. She just wanted a little cool off time before she got angry; it was something Starry was trying to teach her. "Look," she said as she approached him, "I know you're thinking that it's all a big lie, right? I'm so persistant with you so how could it be that there isn't a pae on this planet that I would rather be with right now. Truth is, I've tried, honest. I'm too sweet, too nice, too something. That's not so easy to take, you know? You're the first pae who actually makes me angry and testy and you're also the first pae who hasn't said I'm too something. That's why I like you, because even though I'm probably a pest in your side at least you haven't dismissed me in that way."

His eyes narrowed slightly "So you are saying is that you like me because I don't say that you're to much of something. I'm your fall back is it?" Why was he so hurt? Raken mentally shook his head before diving back under the water, swimming away

Fre smacked the water hard, hurting her hand in the process. That hadn't been what she meant at all. Mentally she yelled at herself, using every insult she could think of. Still cursing herself she went in after him. Her legs would be swollen tomorrow but she didn't care; she had to catch up with him. In the water she found it much easier to catch up and she grabbed on to his shoulder rather tightly, a look of pure distress written upon her face.
