Out of the nine actors who have played the Doctor in the BBC series Doctor Who, two of which had previously been monks.

The appearance of Daleks (monster in the BBC series Doctor Who) was based upon the movement of ballet dancers. The result is a creature that isn't too dissimilar to a pepperpot in appearance.

The longest running sci-fi series is Doctor Who, which is currently in it's 27th season. The first season of which was transmitted in the UK in 1963, specifically the day after the JFK assassination. During the 'void years' (those years between the last episode in 1989 being transmitted and the production of the 27th season starting in 2003), several hundred books, around 50 audio dramas and a televission movie were made. In fact, it could be argued that during the void years was a second golden era for Who fans, the first widely being considered to have been the mid 70s.
The use to show Doctor Who on PBS when I was like 7 or 8, I didnt get it and damn that show was fricken scarey as hell to me! *LOL* Later on in life I saw a Doctor Who movie, I think it was made in the 70s that when I found out those trashcan looking robots werent just robots but they were these little creatures inside them! *shivers* creepy!

A duck's quack does not echo. No one knows why.

The longest capital name of a country is Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.
Huh? Washington is longer than Bangkok!
True, but the official name of Bangkok is: Krungthepmahanakhornbowornrattanakosinmahintarayutthayamahadilokpopnopparatratchathaniburiromudomratchaniwetmahasathanamornpimanavatarnsathitsakkathattiyavisnukarprasit
which is Thai for: "Great city of angels, the supreme repository of divine jewels, the great land unconquerable, the grand and prominent realm, the royal and delightful capital city full of nine noble gems, the highest royal dwelling and grand palace, the divine shelter and living place of the reincarnated spirits."

Damascus, the capital of Syria, is the oldest existing city in the world. People have lived there since prehistoric times.

Lhasa, Tibet (which is officially part of China) is the highest capital city in the world at 12,087 feet above sea level. La Paz, Bolivia, comes in a close second at 11,916 feet.

Yeah, I love that show, too! I can't wait to be in the Netherlands - they at least have a set time when it comes on. Plus, it's like, one out of four shows I can actually stand to watch there xp European TV is so... Well, I don't like it biggrin

Oh, I wanted to say something about 'antidisestablishmentarianism':
One time, my dad and brother and I were playing Hangman. My brother and I were about, ohhhhhh... about 6 and 7 respectively. My dad put antidisestablishmentarianism as the word to guess... And when we didn't get it right, he wondered why the hell we couldn't guess it. It was really mean. It's why I never play games with my dad anymore - he's a sore loser and he's too competitive.
