Im not too sure on the martial arts thing for a few reasons but the main one being isnt it the doctors job to defend his companion not the otherway around, also is it really going to help against a Dalek. I still miss Rose though I guess its going to sink in when the new series starts.

Roobarb I worry about this martial arts thing. I mean, are we talking the odd bit of defending herself or jumping around going HI-YAA and kicking people with her high heels (which I always hate about 'female martial artists' in bad programs - not that Who is bad, obviously). Probably. Like Rose's swinging chain thing in the first episode... Worst case scenario: It'll be one of those things where she does some ludicrous high roundhouse kick over the Doctor's head because there's some bad guy behind him. In which case I will despair.

Looks like it to me!
I prefer the pinstripe. Heck, if he's also doing a blue coat now, he'll be blue all over except for a red tie & red sneakers! xp

gongkat Wow, is this the first time they a have a companion that isn't white? o_O To all whom actually give a damn, yes it is (in the TV series anyways). Why would a black companion suprise anyone nowadays? I had a big argument with my friend over having a black doctor. He said they need a black doctor to show that the BBC aren't racist. I said that when the time is right and they have auditions, a black actor should only be cast if he is right for the job, not for a PR stunt. But then again, never been a fan of Freema's acting, so I hope she's drastically improved, or is only a one-series transitional character.

I just hope they include references to Rose throughout the new series. It'd be strange if the Doctor just forgot about her.

 Meh, I had actually preffered the brown pinstripe.
And as for the Doctor's new assistant, she doesn't seem that bad.
But Martial Arts?
I wasn't exactly expecting that.
