((9:00 a.m.))
I turned to look nearby and see the sword embedded deep in the wood.
"Wow... looks like it's in there pretty deep," I said, walking over towards it. Depending on the moisture level of the tree... pulling out the sword could either end up proving to be somewhat easy or exceptionally difficult.
I planted my hands on the sword and pulled. No go. I pulled harder, met some resistance. I heard a little of a popping sound; which could have either possibly been the tree or my hand. The sword didn't want to budge.
"Alrighty then, looks like I gotta put a little bit more arm into it," Clenching the sword as tightly as I possibly could, I pulled with ever bit of upper strength in my body I could muster. The tree began to wrench in the grond violently, and, after several moments of pulling and twisting, the sword came tearing out... pulling off a huge chunck of wood with it that hit me squarely in the head.
"Ooof!" I fell and hit the ground, my head throbbing. I had freed the sword, but I had also freed a good hunk of the tree with it, which was still firmly wrapped around the blade. "Ugh... I'll let you take this from here whenever you get rested enough Haeo," I said, lying the sword down gently. "Has everyone gotten a full share to eat yet? I don't think either you or Etain have eaten a thing yet." I said looking at Haeo.

I stretched a little, raising my hands into the air. We were way behind schedule... I planned to be out of this forest by now but we had been set back by so many perils. The best thing would be for us to start to get moving now.
"Haeo and Etain, you guys need to eat something to keep your energy up. We lost quite a few of the provisions, but Amarene's sack should keep us pretty heatly for the next day or so; for the next two days if we need it. When you're feeling able Haeo we will depart," I turned to look at our surroundings; we seemed to be relatively alone, but I knew that wasn't the case. With enough concentration I could feel the threadlines of magic flowing through the very fabric of this area... there was nothing particularly dangerous nearby, but I could feel the disturbance Haeo's energy had caused in the area. Many creatures here were attracted to magic fields; there was no need to attract unnescessary company.

As they spoke, Etain, newly alerted to the necessities of her body, slowly placed her hand on her stomach. She could feel it moving rather chaotically. So she was hungry, of course.
She cast one last hostile glance at the sword, grumpy that Amarene had managed something she'd totally failed, and then walked over to Amarene's pack. She took out what food she could - some bread, an apple - and didn't waste time thanking her lucky stars to eat.
"Thanks," She said, in-between mouthfuls.

Haeo watches Amarene's antics with an expression that shows little beyond fatigue. When he managed to rip out a section of the tree and smack himself in the head in the process, however, Haeo chuckles softly. The fact that he laughed at all is quite odd since he is usually far more reserved. The fatigue seems to have affected his behavior in this regard as well. Haeo pushes himself up, holding onto the fallen tree beside him, and holds out one hand for his sword.
"I'll finish that, Amarene, then I'll eat." He still has a slight smile on his face and his eyes are a deeply peaceful brown.
Haeo's stomach chooses this moment to make it's sentiment known, in a rather lengthly and eloquent manner. Haeo winces slightly, whether at the noise his stomach is making or at his aches and pains is unclear. His clothes and coat hang simply from him. They are remarkably intact, considering what happened. There are a number of slashes and punctures in most of his garments, none in embarrassing places, but not enough to compromise the overall integrity of the outfit.

I was still sitting on the ground rubbing my head when I heard the low yet lengthy rumbling noise that usually indicated an empty belly.
"Heh, I knew you had to be starving by now," I said, reaching into the provisions bag and tossing Haeo some mixed fruit, along with a few pieces of the surprisingly good tasting smoked jerky. "This should get your strength back up. Then we can get out of this damned forest." Fidgeting around with my clothing, I realized I had--
"Oh wow; an old Snickers bar!" I said with glee. It had been a little while since I had sugar; and since the only form of sweet food we had were some bittersweet fruit the find was divine. Ripping off the wrapping I took a huge bite out of it, enjoying the taste while it lasted because I probably wouldn't be having another one for a very, very long time.

I turned to look at Amarene. "What in... oh, another trinket from your world I suppose," I said, looking at him with a bit of amusement. "Is that food? It certainly doesn't look like it." Sitting down and crossing my legs, I looked at all of us; a strange bunch of travelers we were. Even though I felt our chances of success for our mission was essentially zero, for some reason today I still felt pretty good.
"Well, I'm ready to leave whenever the rest of you are." I said, pulling out my dagger and flipping it around in my hand out of boredom.

Haeo manages to catch the mixed fruit and a couple pieces of the jerky against his chest, the rest landing on him as he falls backward onto his rear end. He is obviously still somewhat tired and wasn''t expecting to have food thrown at him. He smiles though and pauses for a brief moment before beginning to eat, closing his eyes. He eats at a calm pace, regardless of his hunger.
"Heh, thanks. I needed this. Would you mind passing my sword over here when you get a free moment? I should be able to get that wood off without a problem." Haeo''s voice is already stronger and he seems almost cheerful after seeing that no one was seriously hurt.
Haeo raises his left eyebrow at Amarene''s reaction to the odd... food item. His eyes widen suddenly and he nearly chokes. His eyes go wide and he stares at Amarene. He hears Isis'' words but is too busy to react to them.
"How can you just eat that! It''s so rich and sweet that I can smell it from here!" His voice conveys quite a bit of energy and surprise.

I stopped in mid-munch looking over towards Haeo. "Well," I said with a minor mouthfull of chocolate. "Back where I come from food comes in a lot of different extremes; snacks with high sugar content are ideal for building up energy, plus they just taste pretty darn good." I gulped it down and took another bite, sliding Haeo's sword back to him. "If I had another I'd love to share it with you; everybody should try at least one of these in their lifetime."

((In order to avoid stagnation... again. I will post something brief so that we can continue.)) Haeo smiles and shakes his head slightly as he finishes the jerky. He sets the fruit in his lap for a moment to free his hands. He reaches foreward and grasps the hilt of the sword, holding it up in front of him. The color has returned to his face somewhat and he no longer looks drained. His appearance still is indicative of fatigue but that will take some time to dispell.
Haeo is well aware that if any of the others see him preparing to use magic so soon they would be worried enough to object. Thus, he works very quickly, shaping the twisting flows around his body into a tiny matrix of wind that he runs down the blade of his sword. The wood falls away, cleanly cut off, and Haeo lowers the sword to the ground before finishing his meal.

Finishing my bar, I stood up, shaking off the bits of nature that had become attached to me. "Well, it looks like we're all geared up and ready to go. I'm not sure how much traveling we have left to do though," I looked towards the direction we would be walking. "I hope everyone's rested... who knows what we're going to have to deal with before we make it all the way out of here."

"Alright everyone... looks like we're ready to go," I said, standing up and brushing off some of the foliage from my clothing. It would be best to walk along the northeast path and not the northwest pathway... towards the west the forest was more dangerous and less traveled... the majority of dangerous creatures roamed there. We weren't in the condition to combat every threat we came across; taking the easier route was going to be the way to go. The only problem was, the trip would probably take slightly longer.
"Ready you guys?"
