"I could try, sir." Rayce was slightly unsure of this, since his specialty was vehicles. However, he didn't have a problem overseeing the wiring of a few mining tunnels. Rayce saluted, then headed to the mining tunnels to watch over the wiring. What could go wrong?

Ellan gauged, deciding if he could tell. He decided to, given the only long-range communications available were abourd the Indomitable. "I came up with a very simple solution: ysalamiri splicing."

"Ysalamiri are lizards, sir. How would you use ysalamiri? Their DNA isn't anywhere near human DNA. I would have thought that it would be impossible to splice them."

Just enough blood to isolate the anti-Force gene and combine it with our clones. Worst that'd happen then is a slightily green tint to their skin, but for a stormtrooper, that wouldn't matter."

"We're not sure. It might vary amongst the first subjects. Some may be Force-resistant, while other's are Force-immune, besides them being sane. This might be the Empire's first real anti-Jedi weapon."

The Emperor, and even my ancestor Thrawn, were both crazy in their own ways. I am conservative. If I deem any of the clones are a threat to his companions or my staff, he will be removed of. Otherwise, we will use ysalamiri enrichment programs to give them enough of the gene to give them sanity."

For the initial project, we're raising grunt stormtroopers. They won't have to be super-smart. The clones we are planning will be mostly human. The biggest differences my technicians are expecting are pale skin, yellow eyes, little hair, and more flexible structures. Otherwise, they should perform and operate as good as any normal human stormtrooper."

Rayce bit his lip, staring at the Chiss. He deeply disliked the idea of tampering with genetics, since it was a very, very risky business. History had proven that again and again. Elladen may have claimed to be conservative, but even messing with a genetic code was insane in it's own right. Still, he was only here to follow his orders. "What did you need me to look after about the infrastructure, sir?"

Rayce saluted, then headed to the mountain via AT-ST. He supervised the wiring with a few other NCO's, and even assisted in it. However, he was worried about the cloning process. Sure the troopers might have some Force resistance, but at what cost? Rayce sighed to himself as he watched a pair of stormtroopers try to electrocute themselves powering up a fusion generator.
