My poor flute and piccolo. I've dropped them so many times... crying
Alrighty, with my flute, when we were getting ready to march on to pregame, the end joint fell off. I picked it up and kept going, although inside I was hyperventilating. Then at the end of pregame, at horns down, it fell off AGAIN! I just sort of stared at it on the ground until I realized we had already started marching off. xp
And the times it's just fallen out of the case are countless. I bought a new case because the clasp on my old one was broken and it messed up half the keys. crying

I dropped it so many times, it's quite embarassing. But My flute isn't as dented as the one sitting next to me.

I dropped my picclo right infront of my band teacher like two days ago, she just gave me an evil look. It didn't break or anything, I was holding too many things, it just slipped out. My friend broke her clarinet in half once, last year (don't remember how though)

Part of my flute gets flung across the room. Serious. My foot joint used to be really loose, so if I didn't hang on to it, and i flick my flute, the foot joint gets flung and smacks someone on the head. sweatdrop I have to be kinda careful.

no, but my sister did when she used to play clairinet. It bounced on the bell, flipped over on the next bounce, and landed on the mouthpiece. We had to buy a new mouthpiece and a new bell.

I was teaching someone to play the clarinet. she dropped the bottom half of it, and the cork came completely off, and the bell shattered into 5 pieces.
and then she said.. "It's nothing bad right? can't you glue it back together?" sweatdrop

Words Of Wisdom From Bagel... I dropped my alto on the practice field my freshman year. And my juinor {this} year, I fell backwards DURING a contest. Broke my reed. I had no more. But we made it to finals. And nothing happened to my tenor. {I suspect pity points...} Others:
-The neck on my tenor, Raven, used to be really loose, so I had to be careful when swinging it -My alto, Rusty, has so many dents that I'm thinking of naming those, too -And, this isn't an actual band instrument, but my bass guitar, Anubis, has fallen over, fallen out of the gig bag {crappy bag}, and made contact with my very hard head Now Go Forth And Share Them...

I accidently dropped my marching bass clarinet and broke my in-door mouth peice, which I didn't realize I was using. _ _" The way I broke it was stupid, too.. I was trying to clap for someone, and I got the bright idea of leaning my instrument against my body.... Yeah.. Smart, eh? A moment later.. My instrument came crashing down and landed mouth piece first. There goes a $250 Chares Bay mouth peice. o.o

I hate, loathe, detest, revile, etc. my soprano Bb, so of course I throw it rather than set it anywhere. It's a plastic Selmer piece of crap, though, so the thing is of course more durable than I could ever have hoped for stare .
After five years of being thrown around, the only damage it's ever had was a tiny, tiny chipped bit off the mouthpiece.
Shitpiece (as I've named it) has been through the following: -stepped on on-field by a sousa -stood mouthpiece first into the field (yes, it stood up) -thrown out the bandroom window -thrown on the floor of the JH bandroom -thrown on the floor of the HS bandroom -chucked across the auditorium to a friend -used as a short practice mace -dropped off my lap onto a chair and THEN onto the floor (that's the one that broke its mouthpiece) -sat on out of the case -rolled down a hill -slept on by my cats -and my personal favorite means of transportation, thrown partially assembled into a backpack.
Can't you just feel the love? rolleyes

I dropped my piccolo like 7 times in an honor band...>_<
and i was also doing CRAZY MARCHING BAND VISUALS with it..and the head flew off, hit the wall, bounced off that, hit the other wall, and landed on the ground....majorly dented >_<...
bit of advice, don't do crazy band visuals with your piccolo burning_eyes

We had to perform at a middle school. While the orchestra was hogging the stage, we had to sit in the bleachers in the gym.
Flutes were at the top, clarinets next, etc.
I dropped my flute from the highest place in the bleachers when the orchestra was getting of the stage and the only way to get under the bleachers would be to crawl between the openings or have everyone get up and push the bleachers in. x-x
Thank goodness we had this REEEAAAALLY skinny sax player.
Last football season, it was freakishly below freezing. I couldn't feel my fingers so I didn't know the pic was in my hand. x_x I can't remember why, I think I was cheering and the pic flew in the air backwards and a trumpet which caused the trumpet player to jump backwards and kick his case down the bleachers. The case was open with his loose-stand music and... I felt awful...
