Logan was sort of stunned when Ophelia outwardly stated the things he had said to Echo before...but he didn't say anything, how did she know? Was she like a seer...or perhaps her and Echo had a mental bond...Logan had heard of those, but he knew they were rare...
He fumbled in his minds how to explain how the question had come up and why he had made that type of offer, "Its a back by the ocean shore...I came across it after I traveled their with a friend, Daemon, we were looking for his brother...I just thought...maybe you two would like to come back with me, its nice there. Everyone is quite accepting..."
Logan took a breath and tried to focus again, "I just, I know what its like, living away from packs, isolated from others, even if its with one or two wolves, its not the same as being in a pack...there are others to look out for you and me, to help..." he just thought of what he said and he shook his head in disbelief at himself, what was he doing?
"Not that you two need any help, it was just...." he sighed and looked down, "just a question..." he thought that they'd maybe like to be in a pack with him there. Even if they weren't totally social with many wolves, others there were quite accepting. Malik was there too...other wolves to make friends with and such. But Logan was beginning to doubt that they would want to, which kind of saddened him in a way that he did not outwardly express...he liked Echo, her sister was nice too but...he felt like if he said he liked Echo, her sister would be on the total defensive against him...he wasn't sure what else to say...

Echo merely listened to the conversation going on between the two. Or, that's what it all appeared like.
"I'm not so sure I want to go, sister," she admitted truthfully in her head. "I like him as a friend and all, but I'm nervous about this pack thing. It seems too risky for me. Maybe tell him that visiting each other is fine for now.."
The female glanced down at the ground, already feeling bad that she had decided to decline his invitation.

“I understand.” Ophelia thought, her ears craning forwards. Boy did she understand. So this boy had a crush on Echo? Perhaps she was being cruel- but she wasn’t about to have some man come in trying to black mail her sweet sister into a pack life in exchange for some sort of relationship between them. If he wanted to win Echo over, he’d better think about working a bit. If she even wanted his affections.
“You have a flattering invitation, Logan.” She spoke. “It sounds like a nice place. If you want Echo to visit, I must come to. But I am afraid we do not like packs, nor do we want to be a part of one- yet.”

It appeared that Echo and her sister had a mental connection of some sort, they didn't have to say words, probably just speak through each other's mind, Logan wished he knew what that was like. Probably useful and fun at times...but he'd never know.
The next time Ophleia spoke Logan's ears flattened back against his skull as he listened, and he understood. Asking such a question only after being with Echo for a little while must've seemed suspiscious, perhaps thats why Ophelia didn't seem to like him that much.
"I understand..." he said trailing off for a moment in his gentle yet gruff voice, he was disappointed, but he had to understand things better, he should've acted in a better way, not come off as so forward, but he couldn't help it. Something about Echo drew him in closer, though it seemed Ophelia was trying to keep a gap between them. For either love or protection, ot both, he understood and nodded, "Both of you can come visit if you'd like..."
"Or...if you don't want to come into the packlands yet...I can come visit out here...only if you want me to though..." the statement was directed towards both Echo and Ophelia, knowing that they were close, he had to accept that, make compromises, anything that would allow him to at least see Echo again.
"If either of you, or both of you...ever wanted to join, I'll be there...I don't have anywhere else to go so thats my home..." home, a word Logan never quite understood. Home was supposed to be a place where others cared and loved you, he never had that as a child. He was beginning to find out what REAL friendships were, real emotions, not the masked ones of childhood.
Logan felt bad that he couldn't convince them to come back with him, but he also wanted to be close to Echo, but wanted her sister to have good relations with Logan so that he could see Echo again.
But he didn't want to say good-bye...
How would he say good bye anyway? Echo didn't seem so comforted by his movements, if he tried to nuzzle her she'd probably grow skittish around him, her sister wouldn't approve of it either most likely.
But...he still didn't want to say good-bye...

Echo grew somewhat nervous as this tense conversation continued on and on. Ophelia didn't seem real pleased with the fact that this total stranger was offering a chance for them to join a pack that they didn't even know ever existed until today. Logan seemed to realize it and grow a tad sheepish, if that was even the right word.
Folding her ears back, she took one step forward then immediately stopped herself. What was she going to do? She couldn't say anything for herself, and she wasn't about to go touching him. It just seemed rather... sudden.
Turning towards her sister, she fumbled for words to say.
"Tell him that he can visit me anytime, please. But, he'll have to howl or something so that we both know he's here. Please, sister."

Ophelia nodded her head sternly, and turned towards the male. “You may visit her when you’d like, but you will have to howl if you want to her to hear you.” She spoke. Still her voice was cool, but she could not help focusing on the fact that this fellow was some strange creature. She’d warm, if he really was a friend. But they couldnt take chances if he wasn’t. Not with Echo– she couldn’t live without her sister.
“It’s alright Echo. I don’t mind if you want to be friends. I just worry. We have to be slow about things like this.”
Although she didn’t say it, she was rather concerned by this male’s intentions. To her, Echo was such an innocent– someone who dared try to take advantage of that would not settle well in her books.
"I don't mind if you are friends." She said outwardly, to this male. "But we're not looking for handouts, and we've learned to be cautious."

Logan nodded, ears now perking up again, it seemed Echo wanted him to come visit her, which made his spirits lighten up a bit, though he was still sadenned that they did not want to come...but he didn't want to force them.
And it seemed like he made it look like he was trying to help them 'too much' by Ophelia's words of "handout."
"I'll come back, and visit, and I'll howl, I will..." what else did he wante dot sya now, sorry I seem suspiscious when I'm really not...or, I like your sister lighten up? No...not now, he was odd, he had his moments, but he wouldn't turn this situation into one of them.
It seeme...that it was time...
If he didn't want to seem like an idiot he would've whined outloud, but it would've appeared strange.
"I should be getting back...I'll tell Malik that you are well Echo..." he then turned to Ohpelia and offered a smile, "It was nice meeting you too..."
He went to take a step forward, lifting his paw, but then set it back down quickly and turned his form a bit, no, he couldn't do anything outward in a gesture...it didn't seem like Ophelia would appreciate it, and he didn't want Echo to feel odd either...
His ears flattened down again as he turned and started to take slowsteps back towards Phib's lands, he nearly choked on the words he know how to say, the words he utterly despised, "Good-bye..."

"Tell Malik," she whispered, lowering her head slightly. Why was this so hard for her? Maybe it was because Logan seemed so hurt by the fact that they wouldn't go with him. But, like her sister, she knew that they had to be careful. One never knew who could be trusted and who couldn't. Even though Logan put on a good show, she knew that she still had to be careful, and that made her sad. It was all because of her parents that she and her twin were so distrusting.
Shaking her head, and trying not to think of her parents now, she then pressed herself up against the side of Ophelia. "Thank you, Ophy," she said in her head, ears folding back slightly.
The omega, crushed that she had been the one to cause all the sad feelings that Logan was going through, flicked her tail to the side once.
"Good-bye."
Then she turned about and ran straight into the den that she and her twin sister shared.

Ophelia stood still, as Echo and the other male left. She remained planted, and her tail slowly rose and fell. Logan was just a sliver now in the faint distance. “You’d better come back.” Ophelia said flatly to the departing male, once Echo was out of earshot. It didn’t matter if he heard or not. It was bad enough Echo felt bad about this fellow. But if he promised to come and then didn’t show?
Well, that she wouldn’t stand for.
