Kimiko's jaw dropped.
"Miyu, get me a knife. And it better be a sharp one, not a crappy plastic butter knife."
She was about to take off running, as she was restrained by the elf and her accomplices, the two Talaye.
"Let.. me.. go! I'm going to KILL him!" Kimiko struggled, forcing the words through clenched teeth. They, of course, did not let her go, and Verde happily ran off to fetch a roll of duct tape and a coil of heavy-grade rope.
Mayu was flushed with pink, lingering behind in the moment of the kiss even after it was over. Noticind the light rain had stopped, she pointed to the sky and smiled.
"Ah, so there is a rainbow.." she said, peering at the arch of colored light with wide eyes.

Demare leaned over the bench a little bit to see past the edge of the porch and smiled.
"So there is," he stated, not really sure what to say or do at the moment. He thought he heard someone yelling near the door, but decided to make nothing of it for the moment.
"I hope... you're feeling at least a little bit better?"

Mayu nodded, standing up.
She paced about for a bit, wondering what to do now. It would be a waste of a perfectly good day if Demare went home just then, but she could think of nothing for them to do. The house was pretty boring by itself, and the landscaping wasn't anything special.
"Hm.." she mused, drifting off in thought.
Kimiko squirmed angrily, though her attempts at reaching the door were futile. She made a few muffled screams, and finally calmed down -- in the relative sense, at least.

Demare watched her for a moment, trying to think of something to do. If she'd been locked in her room for a little while, then... she hadn't been outside for a bit, right?
"Would you like to take a walk?" he suggested. "The weather seems to be getting nicer."

"Sounds good," Mayu nodded, stepping off the porch. She walked around the circular driveway -- which was pointless, as none of the members of the family were licensed to drive -- and onto the sidewalk.
"Let's head out to the arch first," she said, pointing to a hazy shape which could be seen just barely over the rooftops of the buildings. "It looks far, but it's really very close," Mayu said, skipping over a large puddle.

He followed after her, squinting a little bit from the sun being in his eyes. While the weather was indeed getting better, there were still clouds about, and idly he wondered if it would start raining again later.
"Lead the way?" he asked, holding an arm out to her once he had caught up. "Curiously, why to the arch first?"

Demare was impressed. Mayu seemed to know a lot about Durem, while he only knew where the Depot was. He remembered seeing the cathedral before, but never went near it.
"I'll go where ever you'd like to take me," he said with a smile, shrugging a little bit. "Today, I'm at YOUR mercy."
He didn't mean to make that sound bad. He was just stating what was a fact to himself.

Demare laughed a little bit.
"You paid the last time, though!" he playfully protested. "I think it's my turn today."

"But you're the guest!" Mayu said, turning a corner. They were now on the main street, congested crowds of people passing by. She had forgotten how many people could be out in the streets of Durem on a normal day..
As a crowd of cosplayers walked by, she realized that she had lost track or Demare in the large crowd. She tried to peer over the crowd -- a hard task, considering her height -- and looked for the pink bunny hat, but spotted none.
"Clare?" she called, voice quickly muffled in the chattering of the crowd.

Demare turned to respond to Mayu, but realized that she was no longer next to him. Had she gone on ahead? Bi-colored eyes searched the crowds for a moment, until he found her fairly close by.
"Mayu!" he called out, quickly trying to make his way to the girl through the crowded streets. She didn't respond at all to him. "Hey! Wait up!"
It took some more effort for the boy to catch up with her, wondering if she just didn't hear him. "Hey, Mayu!"
Placing a hand on her shoulder, the child stopped and looked at Demare.
"Eh?" the little boy sounded, a bit surprised. He had long silvery hair, and was wearing a very similar outfit to Mayu's. This, however... wasn't his friend. "Do I know you?"
"Oh! Oh my... I'm sorry," Demare apologized, releasing the boy. "I thought you were someone else."
The child shrugged and walked off to catch up with his group, leaving the halfling in quite the situation. How was he supposed to find Mayu in a crowd like this?? He didn't know where the shop she was talking about was, otherwise he'd just go and wait for her there. There had to be something...

Mayu tried to wave her arms above the crowd but was cut off abruptly by a tall gentleman in a stodgy suit and tie.
Now, what was she supposed to do when she was lost in a crowd? She remembered Kimiko saying something about it. She just couldn't recall the exact words..
Aha! The arch was straight ahead, and it had platforms! She could stand on one of them and try to pick out Demare from the crowd! Running toward the arch, she kept a look out for the boy, however hard it was -- Gaia had a variety of perplexing characters, and many people on the streets had the wings and red hair that her friend had.

Demare jumped a little bit, trying to look over the crowd. Wait, that wasn't going to do much good... Mayu was too short to see, even over a crowd. She would be way too difficult to spot IN a crowd, as well, if he tried to fly over people. The halfling continued onward, trying to think of where to go.
Wait... Didn't she say they'd go to the archway first?
Peering at the large structure not too far away, he decided it was worth a shot. Maybe he could try to spot her from there, since it had platforms to climb onto. If anything, maybe SHE would find HIM and they could be on their way again. He began to slip through the crowd, making his way as quickly as possible.

Ah, the arch -- one of Mayu's favorite locations to visit on a boring day. Crawling onto one of the raised platforms, the Legend scanned the crowd for signs of her companion. No good.
Cupping her hands into a megaphone shape, she tried the old "scream and attract attention" approach, though she wasn't quite sure how well that would work.
"Clare? CLARE!" she screeched, all while keeping a lookout for the boy. The crowds of people were much easier to see through when one was higher up, and she looked for any familiar heads in the rush.
