Nefarious Vile
~How to carry yourself- Your Gaze
Always look straight, try to look forward if you do that your posture will actually become better.

~How to walk and sit.
Sit down with your toes, feet, and knees nicely aligned. Even when you sit down don't relax your posture, if your body is slouchy your posture does not look pretty so you need to watch for that. Try to avoid crossing your legs as well although crossing your ankles simply is acceptable. When you walk keep your back tall and straight and if you walk from your waist it will look elegant.

Another benefit of improved posture: Improved metabolism and calorie burn! lol, it'll keep our muscles in better shape overall! I've actually been working on my posture before reading this, but this just gives an additional reason on why I need to improve my posture. Because it presents a better image!

Watch videos of all the classy ladies over time. They have this elegant walk, a swish to their hips. Nothing TERRIBLY exaggerated. It's not like that whole "shake your booty" thing... Instead of simply stepping forward, and walking from the hips, you gently and subtly twist from the waist as you walk, putting the effort forth from there.

So I keep forgetting to post this up-- I tried out the whole "walk from the waist!" bit of the posture stuff, because it's not something I normally do-- and I discovered how badly it hurts. Oh! It hurts! Or, at least it does when you're carrying two-gallon buckets of water and trying to do it. Haha.

That's what I get for tryin' it out at work. Och.

xd Of course it will hurt silly! If something is pulling on your arms, your naturally going to be pulled forward.

Oh my stars and gardens! So tactful yet so very, very hard. I believe though old aristocractic ways and such are very becoming to gents and ladies. But I think I'm one of the many faces that shall stay the way I am. Lolita I admire for it's uniqueness and it's sense of diversity in elegant fashion and in some cases manner as well. Still I shall stay as the teen I am because the world of elegance suits those who can manage it. Besides I think slouching and soda way to much to do any of those things! I'd go seriously nuts trying all of that and I'm pretty sure my parents would freak. Seeing me trying to act proper should send a chill down anyones spin. :3 I also like dressing like a guy way to much because it's so comfy! Though I do appericate this. It made me giggle as I tried to picture me and others I know trying stuff like that.

I do a few of the listed things when I feel like a Lolita, even before I knew about them. I'd sit up straight with everything neatly aligned and no crossed legs. I'd speak slowly and in a polite manner. Thank you for the wonderful post. I shall read over it evey once in a while.

This is a good a post and I was hoping most people felt this way. I see the manners as mostly entertainment since in our time we are very much different. I highly doubt most Japanese EGlers follow these as rules for them self. I think this because of what I've seen of them in Japan. Although I really enjoy speaking and gazing in such a proper way and being cute! But that's just me enjoying what I do, showing my natural cuteness.

This year at Comicon at the Tokyopop booth they dressed their booth babes in EGL outfits that were kinda cheap looking, but got the job done. I thought this was cool, but what I didn't think was cool was the girl from their both dressed in a sweet lolita Alice type outfit smoking a cigarette outside the convention center gonk

To me being loli and smoking are two things that shouldn't go together. People may strongly disagree, but I don't think smoking goes with the image at all. Mostly because it may look perverse to some people to see a 'litle girl' smoking, but also because smoking makes some people quite uncomfortable, and I believe being a loli is about having good manners, and good manners encourage making everyone as comfortable as possible :3

But mostly the whole thing where little girls shouldn't smoke >.>

I am quite suprised to learn that I already follow most of these guidelines.

:O

Although the ones I did not know of have come in very handy!

Thank You.
