((I'm assuming that if they're applying antitrace measures, this isn't pure radio - this is being caught by some sort of substation and reformatted, possibly sent via Youtube or Myspace. razz Some way to allow the signal to be manipulated. Give 'em a break, T-boss.))

[OOC]If they're scrubbing it like that, then there isn't much need for further antitrace measures.

Heck, ejecting a coffee can with radio gear in it and tightbeaming messages to that as a relay would do a good enough job for the most part, as long as you had sense enough to not be sitting right next to it, or to pick it up afterwards. Ah, the joys of radio. ^^

[Offtopic]Also, I have no responses to give in the ASDF RP. T-Boss is waiting for Nida to be on low enough doses of meds so that she can think straight, and she wants to give her some downtime - Your commander visiting after a mission/etc tends to suggest a debriefing, and that's stress Nida doesn't need at the moment.
Also, making AltNida sweat waiting for ASDFNida's response is a bit of petty vengence. The silent hope being, of course, that AltNida would realize that ASDFNida could very easily say a few words and have them all killed, and having to rely on her to not do that. 3nodding [/Offtopic][/OOC]

(FYI: Could OOC info under discussion be sent to the OOC thread? Though since we have people here I'll note that:

Yes, this isnt just radio (thus the visual screen). Why wouldnt we apply antitrace and other defensive measures since who trusts the ASDF 100% hrm? [Answer: not us]. As long as ASDF doesnt try to throw down that conversations with them are copyrighted material/their intellectual property we'll continue to Youtube away.

Of course you dont know what an Ose barrier is until you run into it ICly, that's totally up to you. (Even then there is a simple pattern if you glance through RP.) If you choose so then yes, you'll be informed of its nature and whatever needs to be negotiated/discussed will happen... but asking me to spoil the surprise before it even happens? Not in this RP.

I've also said both OOCly, and Yakima noted ICly that if ASDF members (ie Nida, Eileen, Griffen) cant come along we'll go without. Now if we're finished, back to IC and please post OOC at the OOC Torama thread, thanks. wink

((I wasnt aware that the screen was displaying the operator and vice versa))

Lindy nods at Yakima for reminding her that this whole cherade was all for Kenosha, <<"Oh I almost forgot, we wouldnt be contacting you just to talk to those two members of your force. This concerns a fellow friend those two know, Mr. Kenosha, Im sure if you mention that name to them they'll be more than willing to speak to us.">>, she said pushing her body away from the exercise bike and walking back to the screen.

Pausing a bit for a while, hesitant to say what she has in mind, Lindy sighs then grins big, <<"What the hey, I'd like to also say a few friendly hello's to Thrie, Griffin and...uh, oh wait...that's the only members I knew really well. Tell them Lindy says 'Im coming to g'cha!'">>, she did a "hand gun" and pointed it at the screen.

The operator was stoic; her expression belied the flurry of voices in her earpiece. Finally, someone cut through.

The video feed suddenly cut to a man in his thirties wearing the insignia of a master sergeant.

He reached over to pull up something on his secondary monitor. He wasn't actually looking anything up, mind; he was directing the feed to one of Tanasha's own alert lines. Either the boss herself or one of her close cabal would be on it immediately.

The order for a passive trace came down rather quickly after MP William caught notice of the feed. While less effective than an active ping it had the clear benefit of being completely undetectable, and with the level of ASDF monitoring presence it gave them a good chance to spot the source.

Of course, they could have increased their odds by applying a some filters to limit downstream compression ratios and seeding the line with weak packets to sabotage possible encryption, but an observant radio tech might then have noticed that the noise was less than random and broken off contact.

Yakima comments to Lindy, " If you can arrange a meeting that'd be a /lot/ better..." her emphasis on the particular word gives an attempt to make things go as quickly as possible.

She almost snarls a little at her screen at the ASDF goings on, o O (Who the hell do they think I am? how insulting... ) [check OOC thread] She gives a slightly irritable sigh, . o O (If you want it come and get it...) In her mind what a perfect opportunity to test out her new toy, however also deep down hoping it doesnt get broke in the process. All her mental commotion though does stir up something else...

Down the other side of the hall...

Renzo opens his eyes a bit sleepily... o O (Just what is she up to...?) He rolls over and places a pillow on his head.

Lindy blinks and pauses after hearing a man's deep voice boom through the ear piece, looks like someone else took over from here, she nodded to Yakima, <<"Yes sir, I would like to speak to either one but since Ms. Nida is unavailable as you said then I would like to arrange a meeting with Eileen if that's not much trouble.">>.

Down at the hangar, Lindy's squadron mechanic was working on the vehicle of choice that would be used on the trip to the ASDF ground. It wasnt anything flashy nor big, but it was nimble and fast, the old man mechanic sighs as he wipes off some sweat from his forehead , "Just what is this girl up to taking out this machine.", he said as he stood in front of the machine and cleaning his hands with a rag.

The comm officer nodded and began typing.

The feed out to Torama switched from the master sergeant's face to a cheaply-animated robin on a tree branch, tweeting in time to the Muzak - Richard Marx's "Should've Known Better".

The comm officer's notice went to the boss's office. Requesting orders, sir. Terse, but so was the comm officer.

William's voice responded.

Arrange the meeting provisionally, and ask for a means of contact for scheduling once we have determined availability. Unless, of course, they would rather make use of our hospitality and speak to them seperately when convenient. I will handle the arrangements either way.

"Acknowledged." The comm officer nodded, noting who's voice was on the line and biting back the urge to reffer to the MP as 'sir', and reached over to switch back to the external feed.

Also...

The comm officer paused in mid-motion "Yes?"

Inform them that if the MIA ASDF members do not wish to return, they should file a ZR-23 'returning from the dead' form if they plan on visiting anywhere in Gaian territory - Police are authorized to shoot living dead on sight.

"Roger that" *click*

[OOC]Disregard that, I suck at terse writing. xd
Sao, you take it from there? ^^;;[/OOC]

the master sergeant said, having keyed back to the rogue call.

He held a finger up before the camera to forestall any further discourse.

Sick joke, that ZR-23 bit, but the comm officer could appreciate it.

William set about sending the proper notices out, and handling the arrangements for the possibility of a visit.
Naturally, once that was done he went back to his game of Generic Millitary Shooter.

[OOC]Sick joke? IC that form should exist.
This is Gaia, moving people from "dead" to "not dead" happens almost as often as the reverse, and random zombie attacks aren't exactly unheard of. ^^[/OOC]

Lindy blinked at the screen when she was put on hold and whispered to herself with an annoyed expression on her face, "They put me on hold...".

Moments later the operators face sprung up again which startled her a bit then began choosing in her mind the best option, <<"Well I cant give you my cell phone number...we get crappy reception if any, so ye--">>, she stopped before she could finish the word, "Umm...may I ask what this ZR-23 form? It's not some way of asking for donations is it?">>, Lindy giggled.

You'd think they'd be happy to know she was still alive, with another faction but still alive, oh well...soldiers are expendable. Something then crossed her mind that made her zone out briefly...

Yakima glanced at Lindy starting to zone out then shook her head a little, being offscreen from the ASDF view, yelled...<> She was looking forward to the meeting and ASDF personnel in general other than Kenosha, Lindy, and Griffen... who she felt were odd exceptions.

She began to make a hand signal as if one was cutting paper, or perhaps it was a shadow puppet, in either case it appears she wanted to wrap things up, "Some of us need beauty sleep eventually..."

Shortly thereafter a slight pounding on the door came with Renzo's voice yelling, "Yakima, whatever you're up to is keeping me awake... lights out soon and full report in the morning!" A wince came from Yakima's face as she began stomping her foot a bit in frusteration. "I heard that!" came another yell from Renzo as he headed back to his room and she sighed commenting to Lindy, "Yea... so as I was saying..." and she leaves it at that.

Before signing off, the comm officer ran through the IFF signal and the entry procedures they would need to be accepted onto ASDF property as guests. In particular, he stressed that any transport into Gaiaspace or Gaian territory must take place outside the "red zone" surrounding the base, lest automatic defense procedures initiate.

Once the call had been severed, the master sergeant immediately got on the horn to help smooth the channels for William's directives.

((Oh, I know the ZR-23s are IC; I just think that - for both William and William's player - it's a hell of a backhanded snipe. Very cutting. I love it. 3nodding ))

As the comm line was severed and apparently everything had been set for tomorrow's meeting, Lindy stood there with her mouth open without blinking, "But...they didnt answer my question...", she said then sighed as she removed the headset and placed it on the glass table then looked at Yakima, "Maybe you know what this ZR-23 form is and where I can find one to fill out as soon as possible.".

With that said she sat down on the sofa while fidgeting her fingers contemplating on something that crossed her mind before while speaking with the ASDF people, "Hey Yakima...what happens if we cant bring Kenosha back from the Metal Plain?", Lindy asked while yawning a little.
