Tyyne was relieved when they finally sat inside the car and she greeted Ul friendly. Sometimes she liked to be the kid and not the teen who kissed and yeah... Excitedly, but still calm, she looked out of the window as they arrived at the cathedral. Tyyne didn't have a clue about any kind of religion, because Lena only seemed to know the Jedi.
"Wow." That was a huge and pretty building. As she looked at the cars though, she feared that lots of people were here and they would probably look at her. People tended to do that since she became a teen and Tyyne didn't really understand why. Was she that disgusting now ?
As she turned her attention to Tangia Tyyne blinked several times. God. Sure, she had heard about it on TV and such, but the name itself didn't have any meaning to her personally. "What is she like ?"

Tangia slid her hand out of her mother's grasp, slowing down to stay beside Tyyne and her brother to answer questions. Though she may have looked young, she was older than Teagan, and it was not the first life she had lived. She was wise beyond her body, as people often put it. Opening her blank pink eyes wide, she looked up at Tyyne, "God is everywhere, and everything. He forgives people, He forgave my sister." She pointed up at the building, "He can hear you, He listens to your prayers and he makes them come true." Tea cringed a bit, imagining how much his strangest sister must be creeping Tyy out. The girl was the most devout of the family, and sometimes she tended to become a bit... Overbearing with her beliefs. "Um.. Yeah, some people believe that," he added, "But a lot of people just believe that God is there to make you feel better, that He's always watching over you so not everything is going to be bad." He curled his tail around, lifting the rosary off gently, "Some people pray with these, rosary beads. But you don't have to, a lot of people don't anymore."

Tyyne wasn't freaked out, but indeed she was fascinated. She had never heard about something like this before and she stuck to Tangia's lips as if she was telling her about strawberry ice-cream. "And he does that...for nothing ?"
It really seemed like the most awesome thing ever to her and for a moment she didn't pay much attention to Teagan. As the rosary came into her view she looked at him and took it from his tail gently. By doing so her hands brushed against his fur and for a moment she smiled. "I would like to do that !"

Tangia nodded, "He only asks that you be faithful to Him and only Him, and follow his rules." She wasn't looking at Tyyne anymore so much as up toward the bell tower, as if God were watching her from up there. "His rules are the Ten Commandments, they're all simple, not a hassle at all. And if you follow his laws and be a good person your whole life then you'll be accepted into Heaven when you die." Ul beckoned and she showed a faint blissful smile before jogging up to be beside her again.
Tea was glad that his sister was so faithful, but he thought it might be just a bit of overload on Tyyne. When she took the rosary, he smiled. She wanted to pray with him. The bell started to ring and he sped up his pace, "I'll show you how to use them when it's time to, we don't want to be late." Near the inside of the big double doors was a small bowl of seeminly ordinary water.
Tea stopped beside it, telling her quietly, "Dab a bit on your finger, tap your forehead, and bless yourself if you want. Watch me." He dipped his right index finger into the bowl as his mother had done before him and set a drop of the water onto his forehead before whispering, "In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, protect me." Stepping aside, he waited for her decision. There weren't many people waiting near the entrance anymore, most had already gone to find a seat, so she wouldn't need to worry about people staring at her.

Indeed it was very overwhelming for the girl and she just nodded at the smaller one. "Can you teach me the rules ?" Her gaze trailed towards the bell tower and she felt pretty amazing. It was a bit like going with a rollercoaster so exciting.
As Teagan's voice woke her from her thoughts she nodded again and followed him into the building. "Ok." She whispered and looked at the bowl with water. What was that for ? Tyyne seemed to be uncertain for a moment, but then she copied Teagan's words and moments. Did anybody see that ?
She looked around but the people already seemed busy. The building was very pretty from the inside. Was she protected from the rose lady from Eden now ?
A bit scared she moved closer to Teagan, because she felt safe around him when she thought of the way he had saved her once.

Tea smiled and started to walk toward the front of the church. His mother and the others had settled near the back in case one of them started to throw a fit and needed to be taken out, but he had his eyes set on a spot closer up. He pointed to an empty space in the third row back. "There, just follow me and do what I do," he said, dropping his voice to a whisper, "And try only talk in whispers until the service is over. You can pray when we sit down, or just wait, whatever you want to do."
He headed for the row of pews, filled mostly with people their own age, thsoe who's parents believed they still had a lot to learn. A few turned to look at the lemur boy, but he simply greeted their looks with a nod and a flick of his tail, not really bothered by it. When he reached the pew, he got down on one knee, gesturing for Tyy to do the same. "This is called Genuflecting," he explained in a hushed voice, "It shows respect to the Blessed Sacrament." When he finished explaining, he stood back up and found a seat for them in the middle of the row, leaving space for her on the side closer to the altar. She'd be able to see fine, and she'd even get to see the entrance procession which, from his estimation, would be starting soon.

Tyyne seemed pretty comfortable as he told her what do to. She couldn't stand to be uncertain and if somebody supported her a lot of situation were easier for her.
Whispering wasn't a problem for her and so she started. "Tea...I...your sister said something about rules...I mean...was that I kissed you against the rules ?" It looked like she really feared to have done something wrong. All of her magazines were full of the kissing stuff, but she didn't know what God thought about it.
She got on her knee and the golden eyes watched his every move. Everything was so interesting here. Tyyne had the feeling that she had to grab Tea's hand to calm down and feel good, but she didn't dare and so she just looked at it for a while before turning to the middle row where probably something was going on.

Teagan shook his head, looking to the back of the church before pulling a bible out of the shelf on the back of the pew in front of them. "No, it isn't. There are ten rules, ten commandments that God gave to Moses," he whispered, thumbing through the pages, stopping when he found the one he was looking for. "Here, see," he started, drawing his finger across the lines, "God spoke all these words, saying: I am the Lord your God,who brought you out of Egypt, from the place of slavery."
The verses were rather long, and the organ player had taken her seat to play the entrance music, so he shortened them up for her, "Do not worship any other gods, do not make false idols, do not take the lord's name in vain, keep the Sabbath holy, honor your father and mother, do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not lie, and do not covet."

Tyyne listened like a thirsty woman would listen to the sound of water. That were easy rules ! "Ok." She whispered back and watched his fingers run along the lines. She listened to the organ players and waited for something to happen. Would they see God ? What was it like ?
"Thanks for taking me with you, Tea." She showed him a warm-hearted smile and seemed pretty excited.

He smiled, not whispering back because the music struck up suddenly. The bit of chatter that had been going on silenced as the procession of the priest, deacon, and altar servers entered the church and started to walk down the aisle toward the altar, following behind a boy about Tea's age holding up a gilded cross. The choir was singing in low tones up in the balcony, and as the group settled around the altar, the song faded quietly.
They revered the altar, and all but the priest took a seat. Raising his arms up, the priest said, "In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, I would like to welcome you all here today." He made the sign of the cross across his chest, and several people in the pews did the same, Teagan included. "I see many new faces as I look out this morning," he continued, his voice booming, "My brothers and sisters, to prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries, let us call to mind our sins..."
He bowed his head, saying just loud enough for the rest of the people to hear him, "I confess to almighty God, and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have sinned through my own fault, in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done, and in what I have failed to do; and I ask blessed Mary, ever virgin, all the angels and saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord, our God." The congregation said it along with him, strong and loud, glad to admit their own mistakes. Teagan seemed enthralled by it, hoping that Tyy would catch some bit of what he had been learning since he was a toddler. "May almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life," the priest closed, signaling for the organ player to begin with the first hymn, Gloria. Tea had never been very interested in the hymns, and so, instead of joining in, he whispered, "Bet this all seems like a bunch of rules. It gets better."

As the procession started Tyyne watched it with curiousity. She really wanted to ask who all the different people were and why a boy was allowed to hold such a cross, but she feared to destroy the athmosphere. At the same time she wondered about the singing people. The girl liked to listen to classical music and this was just fine for her.
Tyyne was a bit late to do the cross sign, because she was still overwhelmed, but hastily she copied Teagan's movements. Sins ? Virgin ? The girl wasn't sure if she was allowed to say the words as well, but she so desired to do so. Virgin ? Wasn't that a zodiac sign ?
Tyyne shook her head as she looked at Teagan. It was beautiful ! The song, everything. "Will you teach me ?"

Teagan nodded, turning his gaze back to the altar. "I'll teach you anything you want," he whispered, not realizing the slight hidden meaning at first. He had meant anything about church, but after a bit of thought he figured it could mean anything in life as well. Even though there were a lot of things in life he didn't know himself. More than a lot, but he'd cross that bridge when he came to it. Figuring at the moment she meant the song, he started to sing, loud and clear so that she would hear him, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will. We praise you. We bless you. We adore you. We glorify you. We give thanks to you for your great glory." The lemur may not have had a stunning voice, or a very good one for that matter, but he tried, "Lord God, Heavenly King, God Almighty Father. Lord Only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father." The string of names for just one person seemed a bit strange to him, but he kept on, "You who take away the sins of the world have mercy on us. You who take away the sins of the world hear our prayer. You who sit at the Father's right hand, have mercy on us."
The song continued after than, but it was mostly repeating the same thing over and over, so he stopped. "That was what you meant, wasn't it?" he whispered to her, withdrawing a set of the church's rosary beads from the same shelf as the bibles, "Or did you mean these?" He hadn't forgotten his promise to teach her rosary prayer, even though the church so far had pulled his mind away from much else, and he intended to keep it.

Tyyne listened to his voice and smiled. You were able to sing here and only your neighbours were able to hear you, but still you sang with everyone else. That was nice.
Tyyne blushed a bit as she thought about his teaching comment and about kissing and then she turned to the rosary. "It's up to you, Teagan. I like to listen."

Holding up the rosary he had taken from the shelf, he smiled, "It looks really complicated, but it's actually pretty easy." He pointed to the cross, "This one only has one cross, mine has two, but we're only going to pray for it once. We always start with the cross, and for it we pray the Apostles' Creed." Holding the cross up to his heart, he nodded, "The Apostles' Creed is twelve statements, you can say them with me if you want." He closed his eyes, oblivious to the other people doing different prayers around the church.
"I believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord. Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary. Suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead and buried: He descended into hell." He paused, looking over to see that she wasn't falling behind. Figuring the next parts were more important, he slowed down some. "The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost. I believe in the holy catholic church: the communion of saints. The forgiveness of sins. The resurrection of the body. And the life everlasting. Amen."
