I love games with super lots or characters. And this one's no exception. I love Suikoden better that FF's or any other RPG's. I got hooked because Suikoden has superb story which is very realistic and believable. It's also very engaging. I'm also looking forward to obtaining the stars of destiny. I'm amused by the character designs and all that. I love seeing different characters. I also love the gameplay. We get to play 6 chjaracters at one! And because of this, we get to play our favorite characters. We can choode which party is the best to use for this situation or that. Soo cool! I have so many great thins to say about this great game! really!! heart heart heart

hmm, I started playing right from the very first Suikoden. I'd have to say firstly it was the characters and the storyline that was both simple with complex nuances that promised a whole new very real world that drew me to it. However...

In a time of Final Fantasy 'heading the field' with 3d polygonal RPGs that were all innovation and little character. What *kept/hooked* me was the simple graphics and traditional battle system but I also loved the large scaled war system of part 2 as well. I suppose that still applies today as I infinitely prefer 2d games to 3d ones.

The returning characters was great too. But... ever since Murayama left, I feel like the spirit of Suikoden has changed to deviate from my personal tastes. I still love the originals though.

Originally it was one of my first RPGs (That and like... Pokemon lol), and it was recommended to me by a friend that ALWAYS recommends great games. All my fav game series were reccomended by him (MGS, Suikoden, SH, and RE). But what really got me hooked/kept me going was the excellent story and music.

My brother often played Suikoden I when i was little, and each time he played it I watch , he played Suikoden II next... and same thing I watch. Then when I got older I was like Suikoden ..... hmmm that game sounds familiar(looking at the cover of SIII)..So then I looked at Suikoden I, played it, and next thing you know I was in love with it :p.I still like SIII the most though >.< because the variety of characters you get to control like Luc, Hugo, Chris, Geddo, Koroku(although he isn't much lol) and it gives a lot of viewpoints not just Hugo's(when I fianlly played Chris story I gave great sympathy to her). I like Suikoden for the mass characters that you can play with O.o and for me SIII can be dramatic at times(I never hated Chris so much until I found out she was just defending herself when Karaya village got burn down... which she only intended a small flame to be able to let her people run).

First RPG I ever played smile

Suikoden II was just so amazing to me. I had never heard of Final Fantasy (So sue me razz ) so I didn't know what everything else was like. I liked having a choice of what to do. The story was insane. Luc was hot. o,o.

Oh, and I watched my brother play it all the time. razz

I am proud to say that I have never played a Final Fantasy game except for 12, since my friend had it and it was pretty. It sucked D:

(I think I might've posted this somewhere... oh well.)

As for me, I thought that the Suiko3 music was just beautiful. Also, the True Runes and the 108 Stars.
And Geddoe. Yep.

I was already a huge RPG fan, but a friend of my brother's showed it to me and loaned me the game. I couldn't stop playing for an instant, then saved up and bought the game when I found a copy.

I was ecstatic when I heard there was to be a sequel, though the magazine I read the preview in TOTALLY bashed everything about it--said fans of Suikoden would NEVER like Suiko 2, and that the music sucked. Pfft. Glad I ignored them and bought it anyway, because I loved it more than the first game.

Three came out much later, and wasn't what I expected. But it was a good game, if not very Suiko-ish. I haven't played much of four, and then 5 was totally going back to the classic style, and I love it, I love it, I LOVE it!

My favorite thing about Suikoden is how many characters there are. It's tragic that most of them are cardboard cutouts with names but no personality, because that *would* be a lot of characterization to create with not enough time to do it in--but hey--that's what fanfiction's for.

I don't even remember, I was like 11 when I started playing... But it was a game that my big brother had borrowed from one of his friends. I used to watch him play video games all the time, and Suikoden was one of them. I eventually started playing some of them... And then I tried Suikoden and I loved it. We never did return the game to whoever originally had it... XD But then my nephew somehow broke the disc and I bought a new one from ebay. Now I have all the games so far.

My first Suikoden game was Suikoden IV

My mom had taken me to the Video Rental Store to get me some movies and games to shut me up during the Christmas break last year and I saw Suikoden IV just sitting on the bottm shelf. It looked interesting to i rented it along with Tales of Legendia.

Once I started playing it I was hooked. Though I wanted to get up and punch the screen when I saw Snowe after..CERTAIN EVENTS (not going to spoil it for those who haven't played) LOL xDD

When I was telling my friend how good it was and she shocked me.
Me: OMIGOD IT'S SO GOOD!! >w<
Kate: Can you believe it's been voted the worst game in the series? xD
Me: WHAT!??? :'O

Then she showed me the other games and I WAS HOOKED FOR LIFE

Suikoden was the second RPG I played on the original Playstation, following Final Fantasy VII. I think what got me so into it was the fact that it was like a fantasy realm: the cities were medieval-inspired, there were elves in the game, there were castles and knights, and moving between towns (until you recruited Vicki) was a seriously epic ordeal because you moved by foot over long stretches of terrain.

And something else I love is how many characters you're able to recruit. I just wish they were all playable. blaugh

Just realised that I didn't post in here. I should be shot.

It wasn't the game that got me interested in RPG's, but it was deffinately the one that got me hooked to them, and I started with Suikoden II. Man, those were the days. Rented it from the local vid store, took me a bunch of rentals too until I finished it, but who cares, it was a long game and I was but a kid!
Since then I have come to own both Suikoden IV and V, completing Suikoden I, II, and V (I have not finished IV because my stupid PS2 broke, and after trying today found if I tried any longer, that the emulator I set up for over an hour would cause me to demolish my computer due to the rage of it running with slowly. Very Agravating!(On other news, I'm buying a new PS2! XD ))

I think that it is the whole idea of customability of the parties and characters that is what draws people to the game, not to mention the great storyline.

Anyway, I could go on, but I think I shouldn't.
