The scream seemed to echo for a moment longer before both the woman and the scream dissipated into the lantern, and Loki brandished it proudly after the door slammed shut, completing the exorcism of the spirit.
The house seemed empty, but homely now.
"Lue's gonna be happy," Loki murmured tiredly, before pitching forward, his eyes half-lidded. That exorcism had really done a number on him, and not to mention his arm ached moreso now than it had before.
Damn the marks he had gotten from exorcising.

Mayu let her hands fall down to her waist, though her ears were still ringing from the ghostly wail. "Need help?" She looked over at the boy, who looked to be sleepy all of a sudden.
From the street, a large crowd of kids were gathering, all staring at the second-floor window in amazement. The house had lost its gloomy air, and the plants growing around it were actually staring to perk up a little. What exactly had happened inside?

He shook his head, catching his balance. "Go. I'm not done here." The buzzing in his ears wouldn't quit, and he grimaced as he watched her. Loki most certainly didn't need to be caught passing out again, especially in front of another Legend.

"Alright, I guess ..." Mayu waved as she walked back down the stairs and out the rickety door. The crowd had dissipated, and the children were back to their games of stickball and double ditch. She lingered in front of the house for a moment or two, then set her tracks on going home. Wait until her sisters heard about this!

The last thing he remembered was the rocking chair seeming to continue to rock, the breeze blowing in from the open window in an almost gentle gesture.
Turning his head to look at the outside, he sneered slightly as he walked over, away from the window, to sit in the rocking chair.
It wasn't long before he completely blacked out once more, making sure that Mayu's steps were far, far away...

Running back to the headquarters, Mayu ducked into the living room and pretended she had been there all along. As she plopped onto the comfortable sofa, her guardian came walking through the corridor.
"Ready to go home, Mayu?" Kimiko asked, leaning upon the seat.
"Yeah."
The pink-clothed Legend hopped up and waited for her mother to catch up, all the while muttering about what a slowpoke she was.
"By the way, how'd you get that cut on your forehead?
"Don't ask."
