*Since there was no damage to Brendon and Alex was killed due to my slowness, I'll trigger the spell now.*

As the Raid Leader heads toward the Town Guard still relishing his kill. The burning town darkens, twists, and fades away. In its place stands Dimitri chanting and making a strange gesture with his hand, suddenly skulls and corpses of those he killed as well as Alex, screams for his soul, and all of his fear take form to strike him down. And as quickly as those images took shape, they were gone. They appeared when he first blinked his eye and the burning village he was looting returned by his second blink.

Glimpse of Fear Illusion (Phantasm)[Fear, Mind-Affecting]
Saving Throw: Will Save (DC 14)
Effect: failure means that the subject is shaken for 1 round per a caster level, and suffers a -2 penalty on attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks. In addition, those who fail the Will save to resist the spell takes a -4 penatly on Will saves made to resist spells with the fear descriptor for the duration. Sightless creatures or those immune to fear effects are not affected by this spell.

Action Summary:
The Town Guard are fighting the raiders near the gate, except for the Captain's squad, who are much closer to you.
Brendon Heat, standing with the captain's squad, attacks a goblin viciously, dealing 5 damage and killing it.
Alex moves to meet the Leader of the Raiders, calling a Knight's Challenge to him. He swings mightily, but misses.
The Raiders continue their assault on the Town Guard, taking several down.
The Guard Leader continues to try to keep his men together, and has begun to move to meet the other leader with his longsword drawn while still shouting orders.
Navon casts sleep, sending two goblins to the ground, the other 2 targets are unaffected.
Talibah draws her bow and fires, missing her target.
The Raider Leader swings his axe savagely, connecting with Alex in a Critical Hit for 30 damage! He then steps on the body as he passes.
Dimitri creates an illusion to scare the Raider Leader, but apparently he is fine with where his victims end up...
The Goblins are attacking the Town Guard also, a few let arrows fly.


Current situation:
The thunder and lightning continues, and the rain is really begging to soak all the combatants. The fight does not appear to be going well, as many of the town guard are falling to the raiders, and apparently few of raiders are meeting such a fate. A brave knight has lost his life to the Leader of the raiders.

The squad near the Guard Captain are now begging to scatter and draw melee weapons as more raiders and goblins reach their line. The raider with the large axe still marches toward them.

Looking back quickly through the rain and smoke towards town, you see townsfolk, guards and some clerics from the temples gathering and running toward the town gate. It looks like the tide may soon be shifting, but the goblins are wicked little creatures, and many of the townsfolk are armed only with farm implements.

Outside the town gates, a lone Ranger (I had to) steps out of the forest, where he had been hunting. He saw the smoke and fire in town and came to investigate. Now, though, he becomes fully aware of the town's situation as he sees the crushed, smouldering gate, and the battle raging just beyond it.

This post marks the end of the first round of combat. You can now go ahead and post your next action. If you are attacking you can include your attack roll in your action post. If you hit go ahead with your damage. I will stop posting these little instructions each round as we get into a few rounds.

The goblins' AC's are 13.
The raiders' AC's are 15.
The leader's AC is 16.
Alex is dead.

I see the flames from the town, and bolt towards the problem as fast as my little legs can carry me. I quickly draw my longbow, and grab an arrow from the quiver as I move towards the fire."It would appear there is trouble, and I'm sure noone would mind a little help. As I get near the gate, I see a nearby Goblin, and let an arrow fly in it's direction.

Near the head of the group of clerics and townspeople come to reinforce the defenders in the fray, Ahirman stood out. He held his morning star in one hand as he rushed to engage the raiders head on. His eyes flashed with a vengful malice as he put up his shield, it was high time someone taught these fools that fire was not their toy to be trifled with.

He raises his weapon above his head in an downard strike that will hopefully connect with the skull of the nearest goblin he sees... But misses his mark!

Upon hearing this command, Brendon stalks toward the Raid Leader daggers drawn. Seeing the fact that Master's spell had failed Brendon saw it upon himself to put an end to the Raid Leader before Master progresses down that road again. exclaim

(Unfortunately, one more point and a confired roll, probaly would hae guarenteed a kill, oh well. On with the show.)

3+3=6 points of damage

Repeating the same tactics he did to the goblin, Brendon grabs the Raid Leader form the back, covers his mouth with his hand and plunges the dagger, up to its hilt into the side of his chest just barely missing the all important heart. Again letting go, he sees the Leader stumple foward as with the goblin. As he watches on, he prays to Dimitri's deity that the cur would collapse.
