{{Fwahahaha! I ish returned! Ph34r moi! ^^}}
After a few hours of stalking around in dragon form and sitting in a tree as a human, Aislinn woke Kenaz and sat down by the fire. She didn't sleep, though. Osyth was dreaming, twitching slightly in her sleep, and Kenaz was now patrolling the area on silent wings. This gave her time to consider these two newcomers.
They seemed nice enough, but Aislinn wasn't sure about the impact they'd have on the camp. Aislinn and her companions were used to traveling. They habitually slept in a different place each night, cooked their meals over an open fire, and went into cities only when they absolutely had to. They were wanderers, with no place to be but the road, no one to count on but each other, and nothing to do but survive. She was possibly wrong, but it didn't seem to her that Zayne and Kaede were travellers, at least not in the sense that they were.
Still full of questions, she dozed off, waiting absently for the dawn.

((I fear tu, I fear tu! n.n Welcome.))
Zayne slept lightly, waking up once or twice when a stick nearby snapped, or something to that extent. At the first light of dawn, he sat up and stretched. Of course, there was a slight amount of stiffness due to being tackled to the ground the night before, but apart from that, he was fine. And in good spirits, as usual.
The night before, when Aisilinn had been pondering, she'd been right. Zayne was indeed more of a scholar than a traveller, but he wouldn't slow the group down by much. If anything, he would be fairly useful, with his summoning abilities and education. Never hurts to be able to recognize edible plants.
Getting up, the sorceror flashed a smile at everyone around, and brushed his bangs off his face.

Aislinn stood up and brushed herslef off. Osyth was stirring, and Kenaz was still sitting in a tree, keeping watch. "Morning, Hunter," she called to Kenaz, waking Osyth in the process. She glanced around.
"We're going to make breakfast and then probably leave," she informed Zayne. "If you want to come with us, you're welcome to."
Kenaz jumped down from his tree and stretched his back. "What do you want, Dream?" Kenaz asked her, poking at the embers of the fire and starting it again. "We still have some beef."
"Nah, I had beef in the tavern yesterday. Warrior?" she called to Osyth, who was struggling to rise from her tangled blankets. Osyth grunted and didn't reply. Aislinn decided to ignore her.
"You guys?" she asked to Kaede and Zayne. "We have noodles, chicken and vegetable soup, and some other things."

"Eh? Oh, erm... I'm not hungry, don't worry about me."
Zayne smiled warmly, and brushed off his cloak thoughtfully. Truthfully, he wouldn't mind accompanying these people, at all. They seemed quite the trustworthy lot, but it was just that... It seemed they thouht less of him, because he was full-human. And that was something that stung slightly, though he wouldn't admit it. All races should be treated equally, he thought. Even if that was rarely the case.
"I...Don't think I'll be going with you. It's not that you people are bad people, I rather think you're good people. It's just... I don't know. I think that I might slow you down or something, and I'm sure you're on a quest and.."
He broke off there sheepishly, coming to the realization that he was indeed rambling. Not a good thing to do, not something that made him feel all that smart. But, he couldn't seem to get across why he didn't think gonig with thme was a good idea.

"No, we're not on aquest, Zayne, relax," Kenaz said, grinning.
Aislinn peered at Zayne. "You really want to come, don't you? That's fine, you can. And if you really slow us down, I can always give you a lift on my back." She grinned and turned into a silver dragon to demonstrate, then shimmered back.
Osyth, freed at last from her prison of blankets, moved over to the fire and pulled a box out of Aislinn's bag. "Since you can't seem to decided what we're eating, I'm making noodles. 'Kay, Hunter?"
Kenaz nodded. "Sure. Don't overcook them, like last time."
Osyth waved her hand at him. "Pah. Relax."

Zayne blushed quite pink when Aisilinn read him so easily. Then again, he never really felt the need to conceal what he was thinking, so it was probably pretty easy.
Another factor that made him hesitant to go along was Osyth. She seemed to dislike him already, as far as he could tell. And it was simply because he was human. Although, he was sure that, given some time, she would warm up. Most people did.
"Oh..." Well, what could he say? They were being very generous, in allowing him to come. "Thank you! I'd love to come along..."
((Sorry, I wasn't paying attention! redface ))

{{ xP Osyth doesn't hate him. She's actually being nice to him. By her standards. ^^ }}
"Well, if that's settled, then," Aislinn remarked, "Do you want breakfast?" She sat down beside the fire and pulled out some bowls and spoons from her bag. Kenaz sat beside her.
"Here, sit," he murmured, patting the spot on the ground beside him. "Warrior, don't put the noodles in that pot. It still has beef in it."
Osyth glanced down and scowled. "Yeah, alright, Hunter. No need to beat it to the ground." She glanced around and yanked out a second pot. "Here, will this one do?" she demanded scathingly.
Kenaz ignored her sarcasm. "Yeah, that one's fine."

((Wow. That fits my definition of..something. I can't even think of what it is. But, you know, Zayne's like the medieval equivalent to a hippy. All peace and happy.))
"No, thank you.."
The sorceror rarely ate breakfast, out of habit. Back home, he had always had his nose in a book or was practicing summoning from dawn until about midafternoon. However, Zayne did comply quickly to Aisilinn's order of pulling up a nearby seat. He was curious about how these people lived and whatnot, so for the next little while he just sat there, listening and watching.
After he'd figured out the basic personalities and the dos and don'ts of each person-- it didn't take very long, and it was always good to know what wouldn't upset someone-- the young man decided it would be a good time for conversation.
"So, where are you all from?"

{{I posted a map, like I promised ages ago. It's on the first page, in my first post. ^^}}
"I'm from a little village between the Grande River and the Kaehall forest," Aislinn said absently, watching Osyth attempt to make breakfast. "Hunter's from somewhere along the north of Leramosa, and Warrior's from somewhere in the far north, in Nelekon. Where was it exactly, Warrior?"
"Don't know," Osyth replied shortly, "Somewhere on the plains, near a small forest, between the Upper Celante and the Grande. I don't know any more than that."
"Anyway," continued Kenaz, picking up on Aislinn's thread, "I was raised by a gryphon colony on the cliffs on the north border of Lieramosa. Warrior and Dream were both born and raised in human villages." His eyes looked distant for a moment, and he sighed. "Sometimes, I wonder why I left."

((Tres cool... Musta taken some time.))
Nodding at the answers, Zayne smiled slightly. From what he knew of geography-- a fair bit, but it had never really interested him-- he was among a very diverse group of people. Smiling, he returned the information.
"I'm originally from Teneki village, but I came to this...Well, that... That city to study sorcery..."

{{Sorry I couldn't post! I was in Toronto with no PC access on Tues. and Wed., and had no time on Thurs., and on Friday was doing a mother-daughter thing with my mom. ^^;; To make up for it, extra-long post. ^^
By the way, Ekemasi is the cultural eqivalent of Japan (sort of) so you might want to change where Zayne is from, depending on his character. Also, Teneki's not a village, it's a rather large city... I only showed the big cities on this map. =D}}
"Huh. You've come from even farther than we have," Osyth remarked, stirring the noodles. She checked the pot again and decided that they were done. She dumped some into each of the bowls Aislinn had laid out for her and picked one up, ignoring the spoon set out beside it. She dipped into the bowl with her clawed fingers, scooping up the tiny noodles and broth with her hand.
"Warrior," Kenaz reprimanded, "I've told you. Use a spoon."
"Hunter," Osyth retorted, "I've told you to wear shoes. That doesn't mean you'll do it."
Kenaz grunted noncommitally and looked at the bottom of his roughly callused feet. "I don't need to."
"And I don't need to use a spoon," Osyth finished with the air of someone who has won the argument. She defiantly scooped more noodles.
"You don't wear shoes," Kenaz remarked.
"Can you imagine a shoe that would fit? Or one that wouldn't be torn apart by my claws?"
Kenaz sighed. Aislinn nudged him in the ribs. "I could have told you, Hunter," she teased, "The only person who can beat Warrior in an argument is me."
Osyth nodded. "I bow to her superior talent and years."
"I'm older than you," Kenaz argued.
"That may be," Osyth countered, "But that doesn't mean you're any good at arguing. You're too innocent."
Aislinn hid a smile in her bowl as Kenaz rolled his eyes. After she had her grin under control, she looked up at Zayne. "You know, you really should eat something if you're accompanying us. We travel hard, and you need energy."
