Liu Bei brought his hand up and rubbed it against his forehead. He shook his head, taking in a deep breath before turning his eyes up at his brother. Bei had known that it would just have been a matter time before his brother had made an outburst like that. Bei straitened his head and then stroked his small beard while raising an eyebrow as Fei bent over and stuck his rear end up at Bu while demanding if Lu Bu could see a tail. And then Fei had to go off and also spank it. Liu Bei just sat there, unsure of exactly what he should do.
Now Fei was challanging Lu Bu to a drinking contest. Bei didn't have any doubt that his brother would win. And besides, a contest would give Bei more time to think about his options before responding to what Bu had said. Let Bu stay there in Shu? That just seemed absolutely... unrealistic. Bei had no idea what Bu wanted to do here and he didn't want to find out.
'I'll have to wait for Guan Yu to come back before I make my decision. An important decision like this requires both my brothers to be present.' Bei sighed before deciding that this would be the best idea. For now, at least. All that Bei could hope was that his brother would be coming soon.

Guan Yu more or less raced Gan Ning to Xiao Pei. It wasn't a long ride from Xia Pi so it didn't take them too long to get there. He approached the gate and the guards immediately recognised the God of War, opening the gates quickly. He rode in and left his horse right outside the castle. He noticed Red Hare was waiting outside as well and this only made Yu more nervous. He figured that Ning understood the urgency behind his rush and didn't look back to wait for him. Instead he entered quickly, keeping his Blue Dragon in his hands, just in case. He approached the throne room and heard Zhang Fei's loud voice making a statement about some sort of contest. He looked in and saw Lu Bu standing there and Zhang Fei with an angry look on his face. Yu gave a sigh of relief, for both his brothers were still safe. He cleared his throat and walked up to stop several feet behind and somewhat to the side of Lu Bu. "Lu Bu... Why have you come to Xiao Pei? I thank you for your help at Xia Pi, but your presence here is a little unnerving for everyone..." He kept on his guard and waited to find out what was happening here in the heart of Shu.

Gan Ning won the 'race' rather easily, even though he was the one that was leading the way, he fell behind Guan Yu as the gates to Xia Pi opened, noticing the guard a but nerved with him entering the gate, but some of the soldiers hadn't yet heard of Ning's decision he realized. He hitched his horse beside Yu's, and wandered after him, suprised at Yu's long stride that made him faster than he appeared. He crept into the throne room behind Guan Yu, and made his prescence felt by standing beside him. He wouldn't talk, that wouldn't do in this kind of sitaution, he decided to keep quiet.

Liu Bei let out a sigh of relief as he spotted his brother come in, along with Gan Ning trailing behind. Bei sat there, expecting his neice to follow up. However when she didn't come his brow knotted with worry. "Brother Guan Yu, it is good to see that you have returned safely along with Gan Ning." Bei gave his brother a smile before turning his head and giving Ning a polite nod. Bei expected Fei to go out into outburst when he would very soon notice that his daughter hadn't appeared. Bei pushed himself up from his throne, turning his head and looking out between his brother and the pirate to see if his neice were late. Although she hardly was. She was extreme opposite of her father. Calm, polite, and able to take pressure almost perfectly. That definately couldn't be said for Bei's brother.
"...Before we begin discussing things, where is Xing Cai?" Bei added as he looked over at his brother Yu. He briefly looked over at Fei before speaking again. "She wasn't injured, was she?" This had been one of Cai's first battles. "...It was too early to send her out...." He said his thoughts aloud as his eyebrows went together again.
'If only Ping were here I could have sent him out with her....' Bei thought to himself in a small mournful manner. 'No... no, I shouldn't judge what has happened to quickly....' That was right. Bei couldn't just jump to conclusions. He would just have to wait for his brother or Ning to speak. Bei cleared his throat before saying this: "Forgive me brother and Gan Ning, I should let you speak first. What has happened to Cai?"

((I think that Fei will be dark red when he's in the room with Yu)) Zhang Fei completely forgot about Lu Bu as soon as he saw Guan Yu and Gan Ning enter the room with no Xing Cai right behind. He raised both his eye brows and took a few steps forward, taking almost all of his strength to hold himself back so not to allow Lu Bu between him and Liu Bei. "WHERE IS SHE!!!!?!?!?!" He cried out in a worried yell. "Where's my darling baby girl? Gan Ning I swear I'll ring your neck if she's hurt! Those bastards got her, didn't they? What were you doing? And Yu! Why didn't you take care of her!?!" His whole body shook with anger and worry as he waited an answer.
Guan Yu grinned and said, "Calm down Fei, Xing Cai is fine! She volunteered to stay behind and help clean up at Xia Pi so that you, me, and Ning can have a drink with Liu Bei and each other. She's a lot stronger than you think. If it weren't for her the enemy might not have retreated." He said as he placed his hand on Fei's shoulder. He looked to Lu Bu, who had been quiet the whole time.

Gan Ning chuckled under his breath as Fei burst out, he was kinda used to it knowing ol' Fei. "As Guan Yu said she's fine Fei, I protected her, although, I don't think she'll get in any trouble. Xing Cai is very strong-willed, and a great fighter, and no enemies were anywhere near our position. She will be fine, Zhang Fei. So whatcha doing here, Lu Bu? Causing trouble, perhaps?!" Ning laughed, the bells around his waist clinking together as he did.

Lu Bu cocked and eyebrow at the insulent Zhang Fei. He smiled a devious smile and said, "Yap yap yap... that's all you ever do, even without a tail you still act like a dog. Maybe we should get you drunk so that you'll shut up." He chuckled a little and turned his attention to the newly entered Guan Yu and Gan Ning, "I'm here to ask Liu Bei here if I can stay in Xiao Pei for a few days as a way to repay me for helping out at Xia Pi. You can't deny that my presence didn't have an effect on the outcome of the battle. Even with their commander injured they probably would have pushed the castle if their numbers were still strong." Lu Bu didn't want to show it, but he was somewhat desperate. He hadn't had a room to sleep in for some time now and he figured that helping out a man as virtuous as Liu Bei would perhaps earn him some sympathy.

Bei couldn't help but smile as he heard what his brother and Ning had to say. So then, Xing Cai had been able to prove herself worthy for battle. It looked as if he would have many talented officers underneath his belt. And the fact that they were all such a close family would make their power even greater. But now the ruler's attention was moved when he heard the bells around Ning's belt ring as he laughed. He listened to what Bu said before he sat up from his throne and then folded one of his arms behind his back while his other hand went up and pulled gently on the small beard he had on his chin.
'I do owe something to Lu Bu....' Bei thought to himself slowly as he looked down at the floor with a careful look reflecting in his eyes. '...It would be wrong of me to turn someone away. Even if it is him. How could I consider myself a man of virtue if I turned someone in need of help away?' Liu Bei took in a deep breath in an attempt to help clear his mind. What would happen if Bu was just tricking him? Maybe he would just wait during the night to strike. But what point would there be in that? Lu Bu didn't have to sneak in. He could just break his way in if he wanted to.
"...Well... for a few nights, I will welcome you into Shu." Bei finally said as he brought his hand down from his chin and let both of his arms fall at his sides. He felt that he might be making a terrible choice, but he couldn't just leave Bu out in the cold after he'd just helped his brother, neice, and new officer win the battle at Xia Pi. Bei brought his hands together for a small bow of respect, as was custom. He straitened his back and then looked over at his two brothers and Ning. "Come now, I would like for you to tell me all of the details of what happened at Xia Pi over some drinks." Bei didn't want to show that he was unnerved by Bu's presence. Even if his brothers could tell, he could at least hide it from Ning and the man Lu Bu himself. Bei took a few steps forward and gave Ning a smile. "I would also like to get to know my new officer as well. Shall we?"

What Lu Bu had said angered Fei even more, but soon enough his brother had spoken and even mentioned drinks! Also his baby girl was okay so he couldn't be overjoyed and angry at the same time! "Now that's what I'm talking about! Come on! Let's go have a drink!"
Guan Yu smiled and nodded, "Right this way, Lu Bu," He said, welcoming their guest to the castle's tavern. He wanted to show that even though he knew that everyone was nervous about having Lu Bu there that his brother was right and welcoming him was indeed the virtuous thing to do. As he walked down the hall he pointed to a staircase and said, "Your room will be up there. From there you can see Xia Pi, distinguished by the magnificent White Gate Tower." Again, Guan Yu tried to be as friendly as possible. He walked into the tavern and sat in a seat on a long banquet-style table and waited for his brothers and the rest of the crew to come in as well before ordering any drinks.
((Hehe, I just HAD to mention White Gate tower. I think it's ironic that Lu Bu helped defend the city that he was ultimately killed in in history, one year before this RP takes place.))

"Yes! Liu Bei, great idea! Let's go drink." at this Gan Ning was off, following Guan Yu down the hallways swiftly, the bells at his side jingling as he did. He walked into the medium-sized tavern, and saw that Yu was sitting at a long table, but he didn't really know if Shu had any customs so he couldn't sit at a certain spot. "Before I sit, Guan Yu, does Shu observe any eat placements. Like the ruler must sit flanked by his two brothers or something like that? I don't want to disrupt that in any way."

Zhang Fei followed Gan Ning into the tavern, making sure that Liu Bei remained at his side, or at least with distance between him and Lu Bu. He heard Ning's question and said, "Ning, you're exactly right. Brother sits between me and Yu, other than that it doesn't matter where you sit. Now c'mon and let's share some wine. I've got some halcyon just waiting to be drank by good friends and family!"
Yu nodded to Fei's explanation and grinned, he knew that Fei had been saving that special wine for just such an occasion.

||You're right Shidobu! xd ||
Liu Bei smiled and followed after his brothers, glad that no disruption had showed itself. He walked in and then sat down at his place between his two brothers. "We should make a toast for our great victory at Xia Pi." The ruler of Shu stated with a nod as a servant came out to bring wine and cups. "We have proven to these invaders that the land of Shu shall not crumble beneath them. No, we will remained strong with our defenses unbreakable, for the heavans and the gods watch over these virtuous lands." Bei reached for the glass of wine that had just been poured for him and lifted it up before taking a sip and then setting his cup back down.
"Now then, I am quite curious to learn what events occured at Xia Pi." Bei asked, obviously interested from his tone and the look in his eyes. He felt much more comfortable with his two brothers sitting beside him. Even if he felt uneasy being in the same room with Lu Bu, he felt strength from his brothers. "And about these strange weapons that these invaders have. The men are all saying that they are some kind of evil magic. They say that they throw pieces of metal that pierce through your skin too fast for even the most skilled eyes to even catch a glimsp of. Is this true?"

Guan Yu and Zhang Fei lifted their cups to their brother's toast. Yu took a slight sip whereas Zhang Fei took a nice large gulp. Though it looked like he simply slammed the wine he really held the large amount of liquid in his mouth and savored the taste, rolling it around on his tongue, before finally slipping it down the back of his throat.
Guan Yu listened to Bei ask his questions. Before speaking he leaned back and then stood up. "To fully understand their foreign weapons I had to observe them from the battlefield." He pulled his hair back, revealing his stitched up ear, or at least what was left of it, to show everyone. "They attacked so suddenly that Xia Pi was in a state of chaos. We fought back with whatever we could before I decided, after watching a man drop from an attack with one of those new weapons, to sortie from the fortress. I challenged their leader to a duel. Though he stood several feet smaller than I am he put up an impressive fight. His agility was enough to keep him from my blade and he too packed a strange weapon. It looked different from the ones the soldiers were using, it was smaller and could be held with one hand. He dodged my attack and fired a shot. These weapons utilize gunpowder somehow. It made a loud noise and I could barely see the missile as it struck me in the ear."
He sat back down and took a sip of wine, "While we fought Xing Cai and Gan Ning arrived. I believe Ning can best describe what happened with him and Cai. To make matters worse for the enemy Lu Bu happened to be passing by and decided to join the battle. From what I could see he didn't harm a single Shu soldier and was able to avoid the new weapons."

Gan Ning sat down by Guan Yu, best not to get by Zhang Fei, he was fun and all but he smelled kinda funny all the time. Ning raised his cup with the rest of Shu, and gulped such as Fei did, for he liked fine drink such as this. He listened to Yu's laments over his ear, and noticed that Bei had said he heard that people couldn't see the 'magic' that comes out of the strange weapons. His ears perked up at this, and thought he should speak, but he waited until Guan Yu was done. "So, Liu Bei, you say that people can't see the projectiles fired from these 'weapons'? Because I can make them out just a little bit. But I'm still confused to their conceptions. So, Guan Yu, you would like me to explain what happened at Xia Pi in more detail? Well, I had the idea of making 'fire stones' so to speak. Out of arrows and stones lit with fire, we threw that at the enemies for quite a while. Myself enjoying this very much. Then Xing Cai was injured, but the doc helped her just fine, the only side affects were wooziness really. Then Guan Yu defeated the 'midget', and came up and we were on our way." Ning hoped that Zhang Fei wouldn't be angry to know that his daughter was a bit hurt at one time.

||"Smelled kinda funny all the time." XDDD
I'm always going to remember that line! rofl ||
That looked like a bad mark on Guan Yu, however this only gave him a much more fearsome appearance. And their commander, several feet smaller than his brother? Bei knew that his brother was very, very tall and usually stood over men but several feet? How small had this commander been? Very small since Gan Ning described the commander as a midget. Bei had a look of obvious interest as he listened to what his brother and officer were saying. So it was possible to see these strange things. Missiles his brother was saying.
'Stones lit with fire?' Liu Bei wanted to better understand what Gan Ning was saying. He would have to ask Xing Cai when she came back, she was good at explaining things well. Cai had been injured but she was fine now. Bei briefly glanced over at his brother, knowing that this would upset him. He would probably demand that his little girl be brought back home immediately. Liu Bei couldn't but smile at this image before he looked over at Lu Bu. "I thank you for bringing aid to my soldiers."
