Avamp I have another lame argument. "Germs don't evolve. They mutate." That is an awesome/awful argument! I took an evolutionary biology class and had a girl who asked the same question as the first post "if humans evolved from monkeys, then why are there still monkey?". Later on, she asked "in light of this evidence, is it possible that the human population evolved from one couple-Adam and Eve." No, no it's not. Because of evidence. If you'd only look at the evidence!

shadowpunk360 i think the stupidest one it "if we evolved from monkys y are their still monkys" evil evil IDIOT!! ......its not like there was ONE group of monkys they lived in diffrent places and EVOLVED diffrently even then. stressed ....^_~ THANK YOU!!!! That is my moms response to evolution everytime it is mentiond...and I proced to call her a tard.

I think the lamest argument against creationism overall is when someone just says that the bible says that God created man, and that because the bible says it it must be true.

Anyway, I'm debating between the "How could the HEART or the EYE have evolved? It's so complicated! Someone must have designed it!" and the "If we evolved from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?" one.

As if some scientists sat down one day and decided it would be really cool if they were all monkeys. Plus, the question seems to admit off the bat that they are arguing from a standpoint of what they wish to believe, not from any evidence.

One of the worst arguments is when I was arguing with someone because they started pressin fundamentalist christianity on me. I said that I believe in something that has reliable proof, and she said; "Well I believe in the truth." I was like, WTF? true what proof are they talking about a book that noone knows who wrote? you freakin idiot.
how could you not know who wrote it...?

I can't stand idiots who think so narrowly. The worst one I get is "you just have to have faith" which tells me NOTHING about it. I have to have faith to believe I can find Ranch Doritos at the supermarket. -_-

I've heard someone argue for creationism by saying that there have been planks of wood found on top of a conspicuously anonymous mountain in the middle east. Yep, they're saying there's proof that Noah's ark existed. I have found nothing about this suspicious wood, but more importantly, even if it did exist, there's no evidence to support the theory that it's Noah's. The other, much larger fallacy with the "Noah's ark" argument is the fact that not every species on earth could be found within walking distance of Noah's house!!!
The topic starter mentioned the "why are there still monkeys" argument? I like the humorous rebuttal to this one: "I just came from the bathroom, why is there still a bathroom?" But in all seriousness, the reason is because creationists don't understand that evolution is not a linear process. Species diverge and branch off. The other problem is that they can't comprehend the vast amount of time it takes evolution to occur. Billions upon billions of years. It's hard to imagine. Civilized man has only been around for around 6,000 years (maybe more?), which is a little under one percent of all the time humanity has existed. And even before that, we were very basic mammals, living in the shadow of the dinosaurs...common rodents, no less.

We and monkies evolvded from a common ancestor. That is why no one is "more evolved" than anyone else.

The one thing worse than someone arguing against evolution with no knowledge of it whatsoever, is someone arguing for evolution without any knowledge of it. I am so sick & tired of people from both sides saying we evolved from monkeys. We & monkeys bothe evolved from a COMMON ANCESTOR!!!
