Eternal Sailor Malus, Senshi of Glass and Eternal Sailor Adria, Senshi of Sunsets

Malus seemed grateful for the assistance; it wasn’t the Adria was heavy, it was just that he was exhausted. He still managed to look a bit flustered at the kiss, and Adria gratefully sank into Varuna’s arms. “Sorry,” he said, to her and everyone. To Lysithea, “Thank you.”

They were all here. A little worse for wear, but here. Battered, but alive.

Adria didn’t want to be alone. He didn’t want to think about doing any of this alone. He’d gotten stabbed when they were separated. Malus fared a little better, but he’d been visibly shaken by what he’d seen and stayed close to Lysithea.

Adria’s eyes widened when he saw the Court Wand again; it was different than he remembered, but he hadn’t seen it in so long that he doubted how much of it was just his mind playing tricks on him, anyway. The wand wasn’t new to Malus, either, but the both of them had only ever seen it used to purify people.

So this? This was new to him.

He didn’t quite understand, but he moved to Lysithea’s other side and gave her a questioning look. His chest felt like there was a firm pressure on it but it wasn't bad. Just different. It felt like welling adrenaline, an anxious eagerness. He felt a power sparking in him, and he held the wand with determination, even if he didn’t quite understand it.

Adria followed suit, but his grip was a little weaker and he was a bit more uncertain. He didn’t know how much strength he had to offer, but he would give it his all anyway. He felt a current dancing over his skin and tried not to put too much weight on Varuna or too much burden on Lysithea.

He didn’t know what she was doing, but he was desperate to do something to stop these shadows before it swallowed them all up.

Again.

Eternal Sailor Ilse, Senshi of the Unattainable

When Lysthiea drew out the wand, Ilse felt her heart skip. It was...beautiful,a dn there, in among all the other charms, were blue rose petals. Her blue roses. There was no way to doubt that she belonged, that she was a part of this.

Ilse was the last to move in, to place a hand on the wand. But at Lysithea's instruction, she did.

She flashed a smile to the rest of the group--Malus, Adria, Varuna, Lysithea--and she swore that she could feel something under her skin. Powerful, electric.

Maybe it was just the belief in their strength as a group. Maybe it was something more.

"Let's do this."

Eternal Sailor Lysithea

With all of the hands on the court wand, the wand began to glow fainly, and each member of the court began to glow faintly in response. Lysithea drew in a breath and closed her eyes for a moment, not knowing just what she was doing but letting whatever was going to happen have the space to happen.

Adria. Malus. Ilse. Varuna. There had been bumps in the road, there were still some missing, but…they were together. All holding on, all doing their best. All doing all that they could.

With all of their powers together, the court wand shot a beam of energy five feet into the air and then it seemed to bubble around them, like a fountain, though the sides began to expand away from them. There was the shimmer of a snowdrift, the shimmer of broken glass, and the light of the setting sun dancing off of both of them. The reflections began to shift and change, molding themselves into what seemed to be unicorns, a dozen of them surrounding the court before they charged out to meet the chaos. To trample the chaos.

When Lysithea opened her eyes to see just what was going on, she drew in a breath. It was a beautiful sight, the reflections caught in the unicorns made almost rainbows, and the flower petals that surrounded them, seeming to shield them…it was a magnificent sight.

“Hold, everyone. Keep holding. Maybe…maybe this can help more than just us. Maybe. Maybe this can give another push to really fight back all of the chaos here.”

Alastor. She was doing as much as she could, and hopefully it would be enough.

The wave of shadows raised above them, prepared to slam down into them, and–

Failed.

The light from the Court’s magic radiated with such force, such strength, that the darkness was immediately repelled. It couldn’t escape fast enough to avoid the light-graced unicorns, and every time it almost had an opening, the magic drove it back.

The chaos was a powerful, suffocating force, but their combined magic bubbled around them and saved them. Saved the West Gate.

The shadows couldn’t pierce their barrier, couldn’t break past them.

They tried, and they failed.

It was a powerful blast, and it saved them. But, it came at a cost, and as the magic faded, they were exhausted–just, not for long.

A second wind rapidly rushed through them, though; a Royal Senshi’s signature flared, and then Ida’s Royal Magic spread in all directions and gave every Order ally a boost of strength. They weren’t completely revitalized, but it helped restore some of the energy they’d lost.

It helped focus them.

As the moment passed, the Court was left standing there, together. There were no shadows around them, there was no darkness. Just them, standing there after a successful victory. The ground was torn up around them; it was muddy and wet, but the rain had lessened somewhat already.

Adria’s brows were furrowed in confusion, and it was clear that he couldn’t figure out just what they had done. He’d been with the Court from the beginning and it was the first time he’d ever seen that. They’d never manifested something offensive, they’d always helped. Healed.

He hadn’t known it was something they had in them–but then, they’d never needed this sort of power before. He drooped a bit; he didn’t want to weigh them down. He was tired, but he didn’t want to be an anchor that dragged them down. He tried his best to hold his own, and he looked at the group to try and make sure they were okay.

Malus was equally perplexed, but his eyes went to the wand and then to Lysithea. “What was that, how did we do that?” he asked, but he didn’t know if she knew any more than the rest of them did. He didn’t let his guard down; the shadows might have been retreating, but he didn’t know what else to expect.

Super Sailor Varuna

Varuna kept hold of Adria. She wouldn’t let him collapse under his own weight, or the weight of everything else coming down on them.

She’d never seen anything like that before. A magic of what seemed to be their combined magic. Maybe if more Senshi and Knights figured out a way to work together like they did, they would be able to have an even stronger defense -- and offense -- against the overwhelming forces of the Nevagerse and Chaos.

With the second wind of magic they received from another source, Varuna looked back to the Hall. She could only hope their efforts had been enough to stop all of the Chaos from getting in. And if not, that Ganymede and the others would be able to be the final line of defense at the Core of Alastor’s world.

“Need to get on my back?” she quietly asked Adria, although she had a feeling she knew he would stubbornly refuse. It didn’t matter. She would scoop him up in her arms if she had to, but she wanted to make sure he kept whatever dignity he felt he needed.

Just looking at him now had her eyes watering, and she maybe squeezed him a bit harder than she intended, especially with his injuries.

“Are you okay, Lysi?” she asked Lysithea, still a little overwhelmed by how she’d come to her rescue earlier, but she was incredibly grateful for it. She looked to Ilse and Malus as well, hoping they were okay now that the Chaos seemed to withdraw from them.

Eternal Sailor Lysithea

Lysithea lowered her hand, the court wand coming with her and gave a small stumble, pleased by the wave of power that thrummed through the air, it helped her feel a little more balanced which…was good.

“I…” She looked to Malus and Adria, frowning slightly. “...That…wasn’t what we did? Isn’t…that how the chaos gets out of youma…?” Honestly, it had felt so right...she had just assumed. “Do you…think it was different because of Varuna and Ilse or…ah…maybe we can figure it out later…I’m just so glad that it worked.”

Reaching out, she placed a hand on Adria’s arm and used her healing magic on him once more, wanting to fix as much as she could while there was a moment to breathe.

“I’m fine, Ru, thank you. I’m just glad that you’re all back here with me…do…” Swallowing, Lysithea glanced around. “...Do you think it’s over? Do you think it’s been stopped?”

The real question that she wanted to ask, the one she was burning to ask was…

Do you think that we made any sort of a difference?

Eternal Sailor Ilse, Senshi of the Unattainable

Ilse's heart raced. The darkness came, and it crashed, but whatever magic they had created, whatever power resulted from the five of them coming together, it held the darkness off. They were safe, and there was....there was even more power in the air.

Ilse took a deep breath. The rush of powerful magic helped her stay on her feet, and she looked around, eyes wide.

"That was....really incredible," she said, voice soft. "I hope...I hope it was enough."

Chaos was overwhelming. But it seemed like maybe, when they came together, they could be stronger than it.

If he were being honest with himself, Adria felt a little spoiled with the attention, and he offered another apologetic look at both Lysithea and Varuna. “Thank you,” he said again; he still seemed pale, but he was doing his best to hold himself together so they didn’t worry. “I’m okay, I promise. I really appreciate you letting me lean on you, too. I’m just a bit winded.”

Not bleeding anymore, but he was still pale.

But, he was alive. They were alive.

“No, that’s not what we do when we’re helping the youma, that–our magic doesn’t ever manifest like that. I don’t know what you did.”

But, if they needed to, he hoped they could use it again.

Malus’ lips were pressed together as he looked at the horizon; the shadows still seemed like they were slinking away and it didn’t make much sense, but…

“I don’t know, but we should all stick together just in case. I’m really glad to see you all. I didn’t–I was worried,” he said, cutting himself short. His brows were still furrowed from what he’d seen, but if he’d had a hard time, he figured they must have, too.

Everything seemed like it might be looking up for them, and then–for a split second, the chaos surged again. It was overwhelming and felt like it might get a greater grip and recuperate, but whatever footing it almost had was lost. A shockwave rippled from multiple locations, simultaneously. Within seconds, or a moment at most, the chaos anomalies were destroyed. The heart of the chaos was destroyed.

The natural threats seemed to lessen, too. The winds carrying rocky debris in the clouds seemed to slow; though the debris hovered in the air, they were no longer projectiles. The gusts closer to the ground no longer stung. Thunder dulled and then diminished, and the lightning stopped almost immediately.

The rain fell harder, but only briefly. It was long enough to put out the fires sparked during the storm. The river was surging, but the current seemed more controlled, and already the water level was lowering.

And then, the rain turned to a trickle and then faded altogether. The monstrous clouds thinned, and then pockets of them began to clear, and then they faded, too. Alastor’s world had been covered in dark skies for centuries--and now, the sunrise. The sky was already lighting up with pinks and oranges, not unlike Earth, but the colors were so vibrant and pure.

There were no shadows to block it. Alastor was a fresh, renewed world, thanks to them.

The great oak in the courtyard by the Hall had nearly a thousand years to grow to its immense size, and its roots had buried themselves deep into the ground. They cradled the Core of the world, and it was the greatest beacon of their success.

The liquid gold light of the Core stretched up through the oak tree and gave it a magical glow and–more than that, little golden lights bobbed through the air around the Hall like fireflies. They ranged in size from marbles to golf balls, and coming into contact with them felt like passing through soothing, warm pockets of air. There were thousands, easily–like the world was celebrating their victory with them.

It was peaceful now, and the oppressive, hateful chaos that had been smothering them before was gone. Now, the only thing left to do was take a moment to catch their breath, and then meet up back at the Hall.

This is the last prompt based post for the roleplay! If you would like to continue writing you can, but this can also count for the close. All characters should head back to the Hall; the following roleplay is completely optional and players don’t have to post but their characters can be handwaved as attending. If your character would rather teleport home or otherwise leave Alastor without attending, please let me know! Thank you!
