It hadn't been long since he had been transported to this strange run down town, a few hours at the most, but
Cuprite had been wondering around for only a few of those. So far he hadn't found much in the way of evidence of other people, human or non. Sure there were the other people who had been transported at the same time as him, civilians, other agents, Senshi, Knights, and Mauvian's alike, but other then the thing in the woods it truly did seem like this was a ghost town. Hopefully not literally though at this point Cuprite wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.
At the moment he was on his own as he explored, though he could feel other powered near by and who knew where every civilian were. Stopping at one of the town buildings, he looked around first for others of the transported and then he looked around the entrance for any signs that it had been disturbed recently. Finding nothing, the blond carefully moved into the building, eye darting around to see it opened up into a living room of some sort. There were run down chairs, a table, a thread bare rug, and not much else.
However on the table something caught his eyes. Stepping closer Cuprite found a stack of cards sitting in the middle of the table, center to one of the chairs that was pulled up to it. He lifted up the cards and started to look at the faces, finding designs instead of the normal numbers as he shuffled through them. Personally he found the designs a nice touch but without the numbers any game he knew would be rather difficult to play. Of course he didn't plan on trying that out right now anyway so it wasn't a problem.
The Lieutenant was about to set down the cards, having almost looked at all of them, only to pause when he found a Joker. His breath caught in his throat as his eyes landed on the image of the card, not just a design but a picture that looked like the thing, the monster that stalked the woods in the mist. He couldn't pull his eyes away from it as it seemed to pull his eyes to it as if it needed to be seen. As if it wanted him to look at it forever for some purpose.
When he finally broke through the spell to move his eyes away his heart dropped into his stomach as the very creature he had just been thinking of was looming in a nearby door frame. Blinking had been on reflex after that to wet his eyes in preparation to stare at the monster, to know when he needed to move, but when he saw again the creature was gone. His eyes frantically took everything about the room in, ears straining to find any sign of the horned beast but there was nothing to be found. Cuprite placed the cards back on the table without looking at them and backed out of the house, hair on the back of his neck raised. Maybe it was time to find some of the others.
