Garrett's words had carried a lot of stern, but logically wise words. While he had acknowledged to Ylva about parts of her last statement, his following rebuttals had made a lot of sense. It was the odd thing about making points. Rebuttals were the core of proving ones point. It was the reason, Sasselia had remained more so silent on the whole thing, as she wasn't sure what all she could have contributed herself into the conversation at all. Everything he was saying had fair points, with an odd sense that perhaps he may have been told some of these particular points before. A lot of if carried that suggestion, but at the best option, one could only sit back and let the more experienced one take the reign. Some of it she could learn herself to pick off of, despite it having second to no direction her way. Adapting, and learning to work together. Some parts of this had even been aspects that even she had to learn to adjust to herself. That much could more be said for herself, in regards to properly utilizing her semblance, and properly timing the use of it, given the effects she suffered out of it. An example was this very moment.
Over the course of it all, the point had looked to have crossed. Neither one so far had seemed to say too much. Kai just wanted to get going, and was looking to be better. Ylva was also looking to be alright... Talking about pheromones' still?? Just what were these pheromones' about? Just what had she meant by them not lying either?? Sasselia was oblivious towards anything regarding that sort of topic. The whole delicate, and meek bit however, had her curiosity kicking in a little. "Were... Were they meaning the state of the air effecting their lungs, making them feel meek?" That could have been it. Surely. For now, there was more concern on her end into finally gaining some control of her arms. To no avail when she had attempted to them, she could only sigh with embarrassment under her breath. The others were kind enough to leave questions on it out of the blue at first. It wasn't until the apparent notice was made by Garrett, had she no choice but to finally speak. "Ah... I-it is nothing too serious... M-my semblance... Not only hinders movement of others... It hinders my own when my glyphs dissipate..." Blushing furiously, the frazzled woman could only try to shift the topic away, the mystifying darkness of this place a larger importance. "It is why... I wish to remain on watch, until I can pr.. Properly prove I am fitting once more to properly assist and fight... I would rather not have us linger h-here for too long." A true amount of reasoning, given the limited time they had as well. If they had these plans set, executing them had seemed to be the most feasible option. Only, she couldn't help but feel bad for this hinderance. "I-I am terribly sorry." her voice came out in a whisper, repeating her words a second time when Ylva had drawn close enough. All she could do now was prepare for them to move once they were all ready. "Shouldn't be too much longer... "
█ *NAME ▬ Gravity Entrapment █ *AURA COLOR ▬ Royal Blue █ *DESCRIPTION Sasselia's semblance is a gravity and anti-gravity element by way of glyphs. She is able to flip the gravitational pull within the area of her glyphs to either lift things and allow them to float, or make things heavier, by way of making the gravitational pull increase in weight. It is a perfect semblance for trapping Grimm and enemies, though in order to make the glyphs, she must make physical contact with either her hand or her weapon, which allows her to channel her semblance through her bullets or glaive. When her glyphs are laid onto the battlefield, it takes one post for the glyph to be set: the glyphs white on first appearance. The glyph is activated the moment it turns dark blue in colour. Starting at level 0, she can make up to four glyphs, that are 5 meters (15ft) in diameter. Each level, the number of glyphs she can make, and set are increased but the sizes remain the same. Her glyphs are not invincible, as they can be taken down by humans a level or more stronger than her, or by those who exceed the 600-pound limit. The pressure of weight for each level is shown: - Level 0 - 150lb - Level 1 - 300lb - Level 2 - 450lb - Level 3 - 600lb
█ *LEVEL 0 ▬ (0-99 posts) The glyphs are a diameter 15ft wide.(5 meters)
Sasselia is able to lay out four traps that last for four posts, unless broken early on. There is a two post cool down once all her glyphs have been fired out. She cannot shoot out all glyphs in one go, but able to fire up to half the number of glyphs at a time.
The glyphs can either: Gravity: Bring down 150 lbs worth of pressure onto objects or enemies. (Cannot hold anyone or objects over 150 lbs) Anti-gravity: Lift objects, grimm, or people up to 15 meters up in the air within the circumference. When the semblance count ends, the person in the trap slowly descends near the end of the count. She is able to keep the glyphs apart from each other by up to 20 meters.
█ *DRAWBACKS ▬ Nerve paralysis kickback on a art of her body. It is a rigid type of paralysis that makes her immovable for 2 posts when it kicks in. This takes effect after every semblance usage for two posts. ▬ When using glyphs, she must use her weapon as a beacon, or fire a bullet with her semblance channeled onto it to help her point and aim her glyphs for summoning. ▬ The glyphs cannot be moved when created until level 3. ▬ She cannot move objects exceedingly over 600 pounds. ▬ Her glyphs can be neutralized or destroyed by any enemy exceeding 600 pounds, or by enemies one level above herself. --- Sasselia has to choose the effect on whether there is going to be gravity or antigravity set in the glyph before firing. ------- To break her glyphs, those above her current level can easily use their aura to break the glyph. Those on Sasselia's level or lower, it takes 2 posts of focusing aura to break the effects effects. Those with enhanced, or above average strength in skill have a more high resistance.

The latter he could only tell from her animalistic trait of a tail. Where once it was bristling and moving about in what he knew to be anger with some animals, it had become much more calm. She also did not have a retort either and did not try to argue or clarify the point as she had earlier; both her and Hound were vocal enough when they disagreed on something to not let things be taken quietly as he was learning. 'My breath was not wasted, good,' he thought to himself, wondering how many times his mentor must've felt his own breath had been wasted trying to get a point through to Garret. At his own question in regards to attraction pheromones, Hound would have an amusing response to say the least. He went at length to say he was not attracted to Blue, and seemed in shock at the mere suggestion of it. While he was being loud, again, Garret didn't comment on it. All he did in response was keep a slight smile to his lips and made sure Kai could not see it. With Wolf just mentioning pheromones don't lie before saying they should both have sight again. 'At least we shall be able to progress again,' he thought to himself. The delay was well spent, in his mind, both to let his allies recover and keep the team together. Only their next engagement would show how effective it was in the latter regard though.
Then he would ask and get a response from Blue. 'Our problems seem to never end...but at least they occurred while we had time to rest and recover,' he thought to himself. She would be a bit cryptic on it, saying while her semblance hindered others the drawback was that it hindered her as well. He wondered to what extent of hindering it was; having to refrain from letting out a sigh. They had a lot of variables and vulnerabilities to keep an eye out for with semblance use it seemed. He would notice, given his attention was on her, that she seemed embarrassed about it. He likely would be too if he was the new weak-point of the group, or the one that would hold them back a bit. She would clarify it was why she wanted to be on watch and not have them wait too long. He would also hear Kai echo the need to move forward, and Wolf say she heard nothing for now but she could stay back with her till she was better. 'It seems our positions shall shift a bit,' he noted though it wouldn't affect his overall opinion. "There is no need for apology Blue; it is better to know of our allies vulnerabilities than not so we can account for it. And it seems we are in overall agreement; we have waited here long enough. Wolf, Blue, you two are to be in the middle for now. Kai takes point and i'll stay at as rearguard," he would say. While he did have an admitted temptation to advance to the middle, he could not leave the more vulnerable one in the rear. And he needed to keep an eye on everyone to a degree; they didn't need one of their own getting lost or separated as they progressed. Or to be attacked from behind. As the Hound would ask if they were going forward on original path Garret would speak again. "Yes, it was where I saw the blue movement. If anything else is in here, it is likely there; along with our destination in this mission," Garret would respond to Kai. He could tell he seemed a bit angry, but for now nothing more seemed to come of it. Unless any objections were raised, the group would travel deeper into the cavern with Kai in the lead, Ylva and Sasselia in the middle, and Garret at the rear.

The cavern walls were moist with dripping water on every side. The ground on the edges took the runoff and disappeared into the cavern door they were headed towards. The middle of the path was dry and dusty though. There were a few grimm footprints, but nothing else noteworthy.
As the group would reach the cavern door they would notice nothing particularly special. The light was faint but illuminated a larger room beyond. Once inside they would be able to see that the room fell off in front of them creating a cliff. There was a stone staircase starting on the left and heading down to the right that led to a narrow stone bridge to a round stone platform of sorts. The platform had another bridge on the other side that led to another cave. The platform was surrounded by darkness, a cliff on the left and right of it. A dangerous area to be. The cave was illuminated with a single faint blue light on the platform itself which sat on a strange looking object. It was round in nature, but not a perfect sphere. It was quite large, but required closer inspection to discern what it was.
Garret would notice a blue butterfly for just half a second floating above the object before it dived down into the darkness, but nobody else would see it.
The cave beyond the bridge was too dark to see anything just yet, but a loud grinding gear sound echoed out every 5 seconds on the dot. There was most definitely something man-made in that cave that was currently unknown.
[Roll 1d100 as you are crossing each section of bridge, add 20 to your roll for every applicable talent or skill. Feel free to proceed past object to next cave if you desire.]
❝Be Prepared, or expect Death's hand to grab you ❞
Calming himself down, he would focus on trying to not think about the ridiculous assumption that was being thrown around. He still couldn't believe that heathen of a faunus would try portray that idea. Sassellia wasn't ugly. That was for sure, but she was so weak... Still wet behind the ears when it came to the huntsmen stuff, but yet she was wise beyond her years in other areas. She actually could hold an intelligent conversation and didn't get on his nerves. Wait, why was he thinking on this again. Why was it creeping up. GO AWAY.....don't lit such foolishness of a hormonal ignorant teen drive you up the wall Kai he commented in his head before snapping back to reality. He would come back just in time to hear the re-arrangements of the order by Garret and a confirmation on his question. “Continue ahead we go. I am already done with this s**t. We need pick up the pace. No more surprises. No more stupid hero moments” he commented as he moved ahead. His hyper-focus was coming into full effect on the mission now. This darkness is becoming absurd Kai stated before entering in a fire small dust powder to his blade. The blade would heat up with flames, augmenting the melee weapon but also acting as an offhand torch. While he didn't want to waste dust, being able see forward more was much better than being at the mercy of what the flash lights could show. The two light sources together helped a lot. Heading forward, Kai would not really notice much. Run off that went towards the cavern door and some grim foot prints. He didn't feel was necessary. He didn't know if was old or new. They already seen grim. They just fought some. So, they should have been on guard. That was Kai thought process.
Making it to the door and passing through, the light of his flashlight and blade would meet with the faint illumination of the room coming from a blue light. While he liked the color, all of this in a man hole felt like there was something off. “Your slave driver obviously left out some information about down here” Kai commented as he continued more into the room before stopping at the fall off. Looking around, he quickly found the path which was a set of stairs that descended below starting from the left. A slight grab of fabric behind him to steer the person to the left as well so the line stayed consistent. He didn't know who was behind him though. He thought it was Sass but that might not been the case. If it was Ylva then........well that was going to suck. Going down the stairs, it would start taking Kai from the left, towards the right. His blade keeping an adequate illumination thanks to the dust. He would go to cross the stone bridge first. It was narrow and looked dangerous. “Careful ahead” He would call out before continuing to get past. If all goes well, he would past it without ease. If not, who knew. After passing it, he would be on a platform with some type of device. This device, he aint know what it was but it caught his attention.
Hmmmm....the hell is this ? Kai would think while taking a bit to inspect the device. He would look it over, using his lights to highlight all around the device that he could and just mentally took notes as he tried to use his detective skills to figure out what it was. If he was to guess, it had to be some type of switch, a beacon, or a map. He was leaning more on a switch. He couldn't stay long though and he already felt he was holding up the group for him inspecting it.. “Stay diligent. Do not have more than one person if possible in the middle. Or on a bridge” he commented before looking around and seeing the other bridge. He would go on to move onto the bridge and and head towards the next cave entrance. If things went well, he would do this all without issue. However, if things didn't...well we will see what truly occurred during Kai's exploration.
Revealing such information was truly an embarrassing thing to behold. Though Garret had notified she had no need to apologize on the matter, Sasselia was set on that pressure laying upon her shoulders. "From this point on, I must heed extra caution, just to ensure I am not slowing anyone down." The self conviction brought her to clenching her fists around her glaive, simply keeping her head bowed in apology regardless. One could not help themselves with such personality as it was, and to top it all... She had highly expected some sort of scrutiny for being silent for so long on these drawbacks. How considerate for the formation to have been changed up instead, the shifting of positions for the four of them to be in a more careful setting, from what she could see. Just behind Kai, and in front of Ylva in the middle, she was second in the line formation, and forced herself to build up better tenacity. Silently she was in agreement with Kai, on the case of moving forward. As for the surprises and hero moments they had more so commanded to be the end of, that flush of embarrassment had reddened her complexion a second time, looking to be mildly stubborn on staying upon her, and hindering her mental pace. This wasn't good. She needed to remain focused. Any other thoughts, regarding earlier words by Ylva on these pheromones', had continuously been forced to remain at the back of her mind. Had she been referring to her? Did they consider her to be week, and meek!? These were questions constantly crawling back to inquire her thoughts. The notion of it perhaps being towards her, gave way towards the palm of her hands, which were partially sweaty from the anticipation of wanting to know. If she was truly considered to be weak, the pang rising in her heart by the negativity made clarity and concentration hard to grasp. "Focus!" The word had screamed in her head, to which she had followed up with a bite to her bottom lip, making a slight nod toward Garrett and Ylva, to confirm she was about to proceed forward as well. Keeping up the line was important, as well as ensuring to play her part of the formation properly. Sasselia refused to let her drawback make her the weak link of the group. A silver lining to it was was her ability to be able to move her arms once more, as her drawback had finally settled down into proper motor skill movement. Properly timed it was, given they were done resting. She had to be ready to fight alongside them at a much better pace.
Things could have been worse for them at least. Light wise, they still had their helmets and night vision, which had been amplified by Kai's actions upon his blade, sending a more candescent glow aimed in front of him. The former room they leaving behind carried the echoing sounds of dripping water, and glancing down toward the range of the ground with her own lighting, she had taken note of the foot prints upon the dry path. On another note, they were set in motion like a well lined up team, each keeping an eye out and around. With observing, and taking in surroundings, things were looking to be good as they proceeded. As such, concerning the next part of the cave, The room had become larger, with a cliff side that had stairs connecting to it, from what she was able to see. The only wonderment was towards the certainly of this blue movement that Garrett had reported, her red hues keeping an eye out in particular for this line of interest. "I-I am fairly c-certain it couldn't have flown off too far from us." Bringing forth a potential silver lining to add into the conversation, choosing to keep an eye out for this blue movement was an initiative she was taking hold of keeping an eye out for more so. Sasselia was rather feeling comforted by the eerie silence. Perhaps it was by the sense of security she felt from being around the other three. It could have been by the somewhat efficient light sources of their helmets allowing them to better maneuver their directions. The sense of danger still clung to her as well, and that had showed when they had began going down the stairs. Almost taking a step in the wrong direction, she had felt the fabric of her clothes being pulled, causing her to gasp in surprise. "Oh!" So close to almost falling, she couldn't help but shake a little, her heart beat picking up from the quick action of the pull. Part of the rising beat on the other hand, had been the closeness initiated by the save. Had his hand been further towards her, the chances of her having frozen up were there. At most, the repetitive motion of complexion on her face, gave away her emotions. "Th-thank you," her voice had cracked, just as she was starting to catch her voice once again from the small stumble. Such caution brought her to stay closer than earlier, being careful to keep track of their steps. The counting of the steps were continued up to the point of the platform that was containing something strange. An unfamiliar object was upon the platform, and Sasselia couldn't add too much context, or insight, as to what this object was. Kai was clearly inspecting this same thing, as it was holding up the line up. Based on the darkness surrounding them as it was, who knew how long the inspection could truly be done, since the eerie feeling of danger clung like the shadows in the dark. Anything could happen this far in. So much of it was especially true towards Kai's next choice of words towards them, talking on them all being diligent. In the unknown area of this, there was no asking twice from Sasselia to be as such. The mentioning of another bridge brought on a gulp from her, but they were doing alright so far already. Another bridge was about to be crossed!? Through the sheer dark, her helmet was directed towards the small fragment of the range she had. "Ah... S-so there is..." Steeling her nerves, she proceeded on, despite the cave ahead being too dark to see. Her attention was oddly enough focused on something else. Somewhere among the pit of the darkness... Was drawing discovery to be done. The utter mystery of grinding sounds alerted her. The strangeness was the range of time it was taking for the sounds to convey. "Do... D-does anyone else h-hear that?" Wanting to comment more on it, she had to sit back her rising anxiety, and keep her attention on the timing range of the gear. IT was all too odd how it wasn't fully consistent. "One...Two....Three... Four... Five..." Up to a point she was whispering it under her breath, the timing, if she were correct, she had estimated as four or fives seconds of range. It was only due to having no particular way of timing it with a clock, had she relied on estimation by the speed of counting alone. "All too wierd....."

Ylva was quiet after her statement of staying back with the blue-haired maiden. Hearing her explain her discomfort and weakness, the young Faunus nodded in understanding."It only confirms what we know needs to be done,"Ylva concluded to herself as they seemed to be ready to get going. Nodding in agreement when Reveley told Sass there was no need for that.
As instructed, Blue and herself were in the middle. Have that they were both reach-weapon types, it made sense and she could protect the maiden if needed until the feeling in the young woman's arms returned. As they traveled, she had plenty of light, but did not need it, around her and could not see very well; the ones with her might as well have been mountains blocking her sight. So she would have to rely for now on her hearing and sense of smell. The further they went, the darker it seemed to become."Almost like home,"the she-wolf muttered to herself, having grown-up accustomed to the darkness. Though unlike the caves of home, these walls were more...damp, in a sense. The sound of her companion in front of her exclaiming made her stiffen."What the hell,"The young wolf thought with a sigh. Reports that Sun would convey, she would merely nod and commit it to memory before she would move out like the others.
The travel along the staircase in this cavern was not very interesting as it should've been, except for Kai's reactions. And then there was the stone bridge. She had seen many a bridge like it before."Something doesn't feel right,"Ylva muttered under her breath. As they were crossing the bridge to the platform, she felt her stomach plummet up as the ground beneath her made a sickening Crack!"Damn!"The young wolf yelped and only just managed to claw into the stone to keep from falling the rest of the way. Hackles risen under her clothing, she growled in annoyance at the inconvenience of it all.
Only after being helped up did she look back at the one to do so."I am in your debt,"Ylva stated calmly before bowing and moving on; she would help Garret if needed as well as was the way of things. She would then frown at the sound as she had time to think; a familiar grinding sound from the past...but here? Why? She shook herself mentally, deciding not to dwell, even if her body decided to shack a little from the close call. Upon arrival on the platform, she noticed Sun and Sass pause, and there was an object. Curious as she was, she wanted to find that sound's location. Looking to the rest, despite the darkness ahead, she motioned with her spear, to let them know where she was going.
Crossing the other bridge, whether someone followed her or not, she was not paying attention. It was a smoother walk than the other bridge at least...

The Hound, as Garret expected, was all for it; given they may not be alone they had to keep moving lest they find too many obstacles set forth for them. He would also mention no more surprises or heroics; which Garret silently agreed with. Hopefully, they had cleared up any necessary information already with the last fight and it would prevent further issues. 'With luck at least,' he thought to himself. The others confirmed silently; there wasn't much need for words at the moment, as who knew what was next. Hound would then proceed to light his blade; making it act as a more wide range torch. It was smart thinking. 'This shall give us a better view around us, rather than just where we are facing,' he thought to himself. Given there were three humans of their group more light was definitely a better thing. It may give off their position, but being able to see your enemy was much better than stumbling around blindly in the dark with hopes they cannot see you. Such circumstances almost make Garret wish he had brought night vision goggles; but his preference for less reliance on technology had deterred that thought. As they went forth, Kai in the lead followed by Sasselia, then Ylva, and finally himself, all seemed...calm, for the time-being at least. Casually looking around revealed how much water dripped down the cavern walls, which seemed to have caused an indent on the edges of their path to carry it towards the cavern's doorway. This certainly felt far too big to have gone unnoticed; he wondered just how much else was down here. As they reached the actual cavern entrance, Hound would waste no time in commenting Garret seemed to have left in the dark to what was down here. Garret merely stayed silent at it; he too was curious on it, and how much of this was left from the students report. Things felt different; which should not have been the case. 'I'll need to ask him when we get out of this later,' he thought to himself.
As Garret looked into the room itself, he would see the room feel off quite a way into darkness; he wasn't sure he could even see the floor of the cavern now. They seemed to almost be on a cliff, with a stairway that seemed to lead to a central platform and then continued on as bridge to the other side hopefully. This certainly was not expected; though something else in particular caught his eye. There seemed to be a faint blue light on an object on the platform; the object seeming like a sphere from this distance and quite large. Garret would also note seeing a blue butterfly above it, which would then descend into the darkness; not surfacing again afterwards. 'Why is there a blue butterfly in here...and where did it go...?' Garret wondered to himself silently, eyes looking to where it last disappeared. His eyes would then travel back to the object; wondering if it was connected somehow. Sasselia would comment the blue movement couldn't have gone far, to which Garret nodded. "I have a feeling we shall be seeing it again," he would comment himself, assuming she had seen it go into the darkness as well. He had heard earlier Ylva mutter something, but not what the words were; and such thoughts had gone to the back of his mind at the new obstacles they had. Kai would say careful ahead as he lead them down the side stairway, seeming to guide Blue in particular as they followed. Garret kept a watchful eye out; he did not want to risk falling here of all places, and so his steps were slow and tentative as he kept the rear guard. Another thing he took note of was a sound that seemed to occur every five seconds; some kind of grinding sound but he could not ascertain what it was. It seemed to be coming from the distance, so he would give it more mind once closer.
As they transitioned from steps to bridge, thus far no one had taken a final plunge thankfully. Though there was one close call; the ground would crack ahead and cause Wolf to almost fall. Rushing forward himself a bit, even though she kept a grip herself, he would help her to her feet and away from the edge. Doing his best to stay away from it as well. She would say she was in his debt for his help, once she was recovered. "You are welcome though it is unnecessary; we have to help one another survive through this," he would state simply with a smile. The rest of the first bridge crossing hopefully went without incident, and they were in the middle platform. Right by the sphere. Garret would spend some time studying it, once he had the chance to. The blue butterfly was over it earlier, which made him think this could be important; if the creature was important at least. Though the objects setting itself made him think it was of some import. Hound would warn them to be diligent, and to not have more than one person on a platform at a time. Perhaps a bit late or not, Garret would try to abide by it. It would give him more time to study the object regardless. He would hear Blue ask ahead if anyone else heard the sound. "I have. It is strange...it had a pattern to it, so I doubt it is natural. If anyone else is down here, they may be by that," he would comment as he would then begin his crossing of the bridge; and hopefully make it to the other side.

Drip.Drip.Drop.
[xVx].
The large cavern room was dusty. Voices would echo off the walls and small bits of rock and earth would fall from the unstable ceiling on occasion. This area was definitely not safe to stay in for an extended period of time. Kai would feel his left foot slip a little as he crossed the first bridge. The earth simply gave way. Several inches of loose dust and earth made it a perilous venture. Nevertheless, all would make it across the first bridge without issue.
The device up close was immediately recognizable to Garret. It was different from the strange capsule he had found on a grimm not too long ago, but was most definitely of the same design. It was made of metal plates with seems that were so smooth you could barely see where they melded the plates together. Not common in the current day and age. It was oval in shape, about three feet in width and on top was a hardlight projector strip that radiated the blue light. The actual projection was broken. It simply spewed the light out in all directions, but faintly some audio could be heard. The speakers were inside the device and also broken, but they were not entirely gone. One could hear a message on repeat.
[Garret's Roll Unlocked]
[Recording starts]
"I worry about that object they found in the caverns. You know, that mission where the Beacon students got mangled."
"The military has it in Laboratory J. You know, that lab under the R&D facility that the military use." came a female voice.
"Wait, they took into the city?!" A man shouted. "That--that thing-- It's bound to explode!"
[Kai's Roll Unlocked]
"Cool your horses, we don't know that. Not for sure at least... Besides the R&D department will handle it extremely cautiously. They are the best of the best."
"I was the best of the best too, before they decided to fire me. I still don't understand why. I think that new lab manager is up to something..."
"Royl? He seemed fine to me. Though I did hear some gossip that he was connected to some shady guy who used to work for The-"
[Recording repeats]
The device itself is lodged into the rock with metal rods. It seems that someone placed it there intentionally. Was it also supposed to display the recording and an image? Or was that just a glitch? It was impossible to know.
Along the next bridge Sass would feel her right foot flip from under her, but she would barely recover in time to not fall. Some rocks would be kicked off the edge and fall a ways before the splashing of water could be heard. It was too far and dark for even the faunus to see the water below. All would make it across safely in the end.
The loud grinding gear sound continued to get louder as it echoed out every 5 seconds. It was too dark for humans to see, but the faunus would be able to see a medium sized cave that wrapped around to the right. At the far side of the cave was a wall with large gears that shifted every five seconds. To what end, that was a mystery. There was a lever on the side of the wall of gears though. It was in the upright position, but could easily be shifted down. Above it was a metal plate that read "Auxiliary Control Valve."
Once you enter the cave with the grinding gear wall you will see that to the right is a hall that is thirty feet long and then ends in pure darkness. A cold wind blows out of it and there is no light whatsoever. Down the hallway the wind would increase. Beyond the doorway a faunus would be able to see a very large cavern room. It was incredibly dark. Darker than normal. As if the light itself was being sucked out of the room. The room was large and circular, and slanted downward into the center where a large rocky mound was. On the other side of the room seemed to be another doorway.
❝Be Prepared, or expect Death's hand to grab you ❞
What was the true intention of all this? What was their purpose? Kai taking point, even though he was not a faunus, he adapted in best way he knew how. Strategic use of his aura slice ability, making the aura into a vibrant source of light that clashed in hue to the device's own light was beneficial and smart. Of course, he could not change the color of his aura. Everything just lined up ironically well. The threat of the environment loomed as Kai slipped a little, his footing lost for a second thanks to the earth giving way. Keeping on track, he had a goal and he was going to reach it. The contraption was certainly the highlight of the evening. The recording taking place would be heard but Kai's main thought process of getting passed outweighed him wanting to stay for longer listening. Well, it probably was more the dangers of the area. He heard enough. The information he heard from the recording would cause him to turn his attention once he was safe. Something was up, and he fully believed Garret knew what it was and was hiding information. That certainly wasn't the case but Kai was already at that conclusion.
Who the hell would place something like this here? And why? Did they want someone to discover it? Was there a cover up and this was his remains? What he left behind? Who is this Royl character? Sounds like he bad news. Maybe I can find some information somewhere. But what is the R&D department handling? Kai's thoughts had him frozen on the other side near entrance of the Gear room. Something was a miss. However, it felt as if...a chunk of the recording was missing. Or someone started recording halfway during the conversation. Putting more Aura into his blade to keep the light going, he needed to move on. So he would go deeper.
The darkness flooded and even his aura sword was little help. He could only see so far in front of him with it and the flashlight but anything outside the light source seemed like an endless voice. The sound of gears grinding would call to Kai, leading him towards the end. A chilling wend blew against him as he made it almost to the gears. The wind cold enough to even cause a chill within his armor. Spotting the lever, he wasn't going to consult. He would just go to pull the lever down and see what happens. As He pulled it down, he would call back to Garret.
“Isn't your slave master on the council? What the hell was the R&D handling that would have someone worried? And who is Royl?” He asked. He didn't give Garret time before he continued. “Because from very start something has been off about this whole entire mission. What is the b*****d truly planning? Why are we truly down here? I was not the only one who heard that message right?”

Safety was a factor thrown out the window. Another factor was her worth of intelligence in a scenario such as this. Nothing below upon these sewers and caves carried anything for her to be able to recognize. All too out of her element, Sasselia could only rely on her senses, and memorizing their steps at this point. Given the oddity of their paths, and the number of steps they had to take caution with, their helmets, Kai's sword, and Ylva's eyes, were only going to work for so long. With the patches of darkness being too much, even for the helmets, relying on the number of steps they had taken as a sort of compass couldn't hurt to have at their disposal. A few times she had admittedly almost lost track of that counting, but with her eidetic memory, she was able to keep their count this whole time. She was 85% accurate on her mental counting, which the other 15% had meant for them to still take the necessary cautions, should they turn around at any given time. The way these sewers kept going however, anything could be possible as to what may happen. A point that has also hit close to home, as she had no idea on the device, or it's uses. "How intriguing..." The more she tried to look, the more harder it was to see for her, despite her helmet glowing true. One could not focus on their count while inspecting, which had her remain in the dark (pun intended) on what the device was. "I-I cannot be a hindrance than I have been already..." A small feat it was to contribute with, but any safe than sorry method in a place like this was the best she could offer. One positive note to it at least: with all the counting, and the following, her arms had fully began to function again. They were probably alright since they had began on crossing the first bridge, but she had been too focused on her counting and surveying to truly pay attention.
Moving forward however from the strange device, the second bridge had terrified more more than she had bargained for. Having spoken aloud about the gears, she had almost fallen off the bridge itself, just barely catching herself from plunging down below. "Oh my GOD!" Shaking in fear from the dark, and almost losing her count for the umpteenth time, the slippery bridge was adding a fear to her list just about. To make matters worse, when she had some rocks fall down from her clumsy moment, there was no sound below of the rocks hitting. She felt her stomach drop by notion, almost too afraid to ask Ylva if she had heard those rocks land below or not. "B-better not ask..." Considering the young wolf had almost fallen down herself earlier, Sasselia dared not ask her. Having one of them a bit on edge was enough. With the heavy amount of darkness as it was, it was hard to tell how the other three were truly feeling. From what she gathered, they were definitely taking it better than she was. All she could try to do was hide it, forcing it all down with a bite of her lip. "I cannot be weak... I've caused enough trouble... I must... Stay... Strong." Repeating the last four words in her mind over and over, the comforting thought of them with her had eased the negative emotions arising in her. She was in good hands, and she had to be sure to be just as good! Her life as a huntress counted on it! She had failed past teammates, and considered herself a curse. It was time to get that curse broken for her. Some way. Somehow. Counting their steps, and focusing around for any useful hints to this mission was vital. The team needed her too. Such thoughts had brought her enough willpower to finish crossing the bridge into the gear room, to a point she was unsure once again, on what sort of contraption was in the area. She also was unable to see what it was, only barely making out that there was a lever there. As for the wall to the right, as soon as Sasselia had seen that growing darkness making things unavailable for sight in that direction, she hadn't bothered with attempting anything. Instead, she more kept a look around to areas she could have some sort of sighting to, even if it wasn't much. Of course, the moment she had stepped her feet off the bridge, and had walked further with Ylva, she hadn't moved from her spot since, which was near the center of the room itself. "What a strange place to have gears and contraptions in the first place..." Just what was going on, truly?
Before she could ask the question aloud, and see what the other may believe, Kai was already out on the ropes. Was he confronting Garrett again!? What had Garrett done now? Just what had he meant by R&D? Who was Roy? Having been too busy with her own thoughts, she had heard nothing about those messages at all. With Kai being this upset, she herself couldn't help but wonder these things, more so wondering why they were being asked to Garrett in the first place. Sass could only stand there and listen, frowning when they were asked about the message. "I-I was honestly too busy c-counting our steps, s-so if we ever back track across the bridges, w-we could have a measurement of steps to get us back safer." Going sheepish, squinting her eyes and looking about still was the only solution for the time being. "I-I so wish I had Miss Ylva's eyesight..."

Ylva frowned but nodded as Reveley had told her it was not necessary and that they were all there to help one another. She returned his smile and bowed her head; keeping the oath to herself in silence as she continued on to the platform and across.
Having ignored the object and gone straight for the last bridge and would be crossing, passing those that would stop to inspect said object. Though she paused at Sass' and Reveley's comments."It's not natural,"Ylva thought before saying so."Metal on metal,"the she-wolf muttered to herself as her ears twitched with each metallic grinding; and it was only getting louder as she got closer to the dark cavern. To her eyes, she was glad she had dark-vision, unlike the idiot human with her."He is truly stupid,"The young wolf thought and she told him so out loud as well, though she would not yell it.
"I'm scouting ahead, try not to be...An idiot,"Ylva sighed as she got to the last part because by then Sun had already pulled the lever. They had no idea what that lever did, let alone where the gears would lead to activating! The young wolf shouted in her head. Outside, she was calm though her aura was glowing around her as if she was going to activate again, but took a deep breath as her semblance receded."Far side of the cave was a wall with large gears..."
"Heading into the darkness. Alone. Go tell the others what you found,"Ylva growled, emphasizing she did NOT want Kai with her, before going ahead. If nothing happened when the lever, she would continue on into the darkness where she would only feel the coldness of the wind get colder. Her hackles were up like crazy, her ears folded back against her head for protective purposes, but she was stubborn to continue on down the hallway, stepping quietly (just in case) until she saw down into a cavern room, and it was darker. Going further until she would see what seemed to be then next doorway. Rather than go to it though, she would run swiftly back to report to the others; assuming by this time they all must've gathered across the last bridge."The wind's strong that way."She pointed before continuing calmly."Down in the darkest part looks like it leads to a cavernous room. Across it, down-slanted part there's what looks like a rocky mound, past it though...it looks like a doorway,"She finished then waited for the humans to decide what they wanted to do. But she looked to Reveley respectfully for final thoughts.

He was focused on his footsteps, having Heir out to tap the bottom of it's staff against the earth. A test to make sure the path didn't twist or earth give way. Having seen Ylva almost fall, and hearing it ahead from Blue or the Hound or both, he was not going to take risks as the rearguard. Before Ylva had left, as well, she had bowed her head and smiled to him; not something he was accustomed to with this group so it was a welcome change. One thing was for certain with their crossing though; this path was not the most stable. It was good they were going one by one, or so he thought, elsewise it may give way. When he finally reached the device, he felt the hairs on the back of his neck raise. 'This...is far too similar...' he wondered to himself incredulously. It was of a design similar to the one he found in the Grimm, save much larger and clearly it had a different purpose to it. It also was much larger, and seemed to have been a projector? He was uncertain, but it seemed to be a source of blue light; trying to spew forth an image but being unable, or so he assumed. It was faint, but there was also a sound coming from it. Eager and curious, Garret would focus his sense and listen; making out a disturbing recording. 'What!?' he wondered to himself in surprise. If it was talking about the device from the caves being an explosive hazard...he needed to tell Aurtrox. As he thought more to it, there was another disturbing implication to the facts. 'Why is this here?' he wondered to himself. Who knew about the device so specifically to where it was held, and why would they leave a recording of it down here. There were too many question with that. A further inspection of the device, he would see rods that seemed to lodge it into the rock. 'It's meant to be here...but why? What kind of group operates down here?' this mission was becoming more and more complicated. He merely expected Grimm, and nothing more. All this about a group that seemed to have a lot of information along with machinery was strange and worrying. Despite wanting to take this recording, perhaps to get repaired, Garret left it for now and continued on for two reasons. They had a mission to continue, and he did not trust this bridge. Should anything happen, he would have information to report even if the device was unrecoverable. His word should hopefully be enough in that case.
Having taken the rear and delayed a bit, Garret would be the last to make it across the bridge with numerous questions swirling in mind. Doing his best to focus on one foot in front of another, he was glad to seem to have come across solid land that was no longer bridge in a chasm. Following the lights of the others up ahead in the oppressive darkness would serve as his main guide; shortly before he reached the Blue, Ylva had already pressed on and he could hear the Hound questioning him about the device and someone named Royl in the distance? He had no idea who that was. Before he could respond though, the Hound would turn his questions to accusations; interrogating him as he if knew anything more. Garret felt a bit of anger rise that he seemed to be the accused and guilty party to the Hound, finding the attack unwarranted. As Garret joined them, annoyed, he had felt no need to yell back in response to the Hound and had stayed silent to this point. He heard Blue comment of hearing nothing as she was focused on counting her steps when he passed her to head further to where Kai's voice and faint light came from, and he noticed Wolf was not around currently. While he would normally ask and question, he figured she scouted ahead, and he wanted to deal with the insolent Hound first and foremost. While Blue's information was useful as well, he found himself all too focused on the Hound given the words said. Given he came last, he was also unaware Hound had even pulled the lever. "You know all I know, and then some, it seems Hound. I know no Royl, nor who that person's significance is in this. Had I more information to share from the start, I gladly would have. All I was told to expect was Grimm; none of this was told to me or I would have said so. You heard of my own intent with this mission; do you really think if I knew all this was here you would have been my choice of company?" he would respond, clearly his annoyance was bordering anger though he was keeping himself from going there; even if he may come off as harsh. "As for your eloquently put questions, Aurtrox is part of the council. The device, from what the message said, is the one some students found during their caves exploration though I know nothing of the device. Whoever spoke on the recording though seemed to know exactly where it was held, though I counted three voices, one seeming to think it would explode," he would continue to speak, answering the Hounds question even if he was tempted to remain silent and leave him in the dark. Though given the questioning from Hound, he assumed he may've heard differently from himself.
"I do not know what you heard, but that is the truth of the matter. I highly doubt I would have been allowed two students and an outsider on this mission if he were aware of all this down here; this has been something neglected for some time, and it seems someone took advantage of it. The only thing I know further is that the device that held the message seemed similar to the design of a device I found inside of a Grimm on one of my missions in the outskirts. What the connection is I am uncertain, only that the device I encountered was an aura dispenser of a type only known from Mistral before its fall from what I was told...and shortly exploded after attempting to use it," he would finish, calming down now. As he did so, and awaited a response, he would look a bit with his helmet and have the light pass over the plate that read 'Auxiliary Control Valve' to see Kai right besides it. The gear sound was definitely louder now that he focused on it; Garret's internal fuming had masked the sight and sounds a bit that he only noticed now. He was about to ask on it when they were rejoined by Ylva. Whether she was nearer to the duo, Blue, or just nearby to all three mattered little; he heard her first by her running, and when he looked to find her his helmet light would thankfully. She would report wind was strong one way, his light on her allowing him to see which direction, as she would continue her report. Alerting them that down the darkest way was another cavernous room, and past a rocky mound, seemed to be a doorway. Despite turning his head to look, Garret could see very little in the darkness. His light not being able to penetrate it. His helmet light would swing and attempt to catch everyone in the group at least once, noting Wolf seemed to look and wait for him to speak respectfully, though settled ultimately on the Hound. "Are we all content to continue on, or do we have something to settle here first?" he would ask bluntly. While his eyes were on the Hound specifically as he asked, it was meant for everyone. If Hound was content to continue to push, he was going to get pushed back.

The level would resist due to the build up of rust, but once down it would lock into place with a clang. A long moment would pass. Then the gears would screech to a stop. The room got eerily quiet, but then the gears let out a painfully high pitch noise as they began to move again, but this time in the opposite direction from before. They would continue on as before but nothing really seemed to change beyond the gears switching directions.
[1/10 -- Does anyone have enhanced hearing?]
No new information would be gained, but the wind would shift ever so slightly. Increasing and heading into the dark cavern up ahead, as if being pushed.
❝Be Prepared, or expect Death's hand to grab you ❞
Tsssk. The wrong answer was given. Surely Garret was probably in the dark just as he was, but the assumptions were already made and embedded into Kai´s head. The lever proved to not bring anything about as Ylva´s words were ignored. Did she think he would take orders from a heathen like her? No thanks. Besides, there was a bigger issue brewing among team RYSK. The sharp loud noise of metal grinding on metal would pierce the male´s ears causing a momentary stun from Kai as he took a second to recover. Would that stop his impeding tirade towards Garret? Nope. Garret would st art to explain himself. The general consensus that he knew nothing and that if he had known all of this was down there Kai probably would of not been the person he would of chosen to go along with this mission. The subtle details that Garret was introducing to the scenario was not helping at all. In fact, some would say it was making it worse. ¨So that explains why you was in the outskirts when I met you¨ He started, but it did not seem that there was an end. Looking back towards where they came from, Kai wanted to ask then if they was walking by a bomb. Could that giant thing explode, but Kai felt that to have a bomb with a recording component to it seemed unnecessary and illogical. While still cautious, he let that possibility stay dormant in the back of his brain.
¨We finishing this. Then we can settle this afterwards as natives of Vacuo... Your words mean nothing to me..People lie, but weapons always tell the true story...I am sure you not scared of the challenge. Besides......if cannot handle getting destroyed by me in battle...NO point in you ever stepping back into Vacuo. You will never survive the sands....¨ His grip tightened, his blade shaking from the intensity as his emerald eyes stared back at Garret before turning to Ylva. Looking in the direction she pointed, he started to walk off. ¨There´s no point asking what to do now. We can´t go backwards. So lets stop delaying the inevitable. ¨"
