"I'm fine." Eir said to Amity, covering her face with a clawed hand as she laid there, totally mortified about her actions. She just pulled a knife on a member of their envoy. When Devon offered her their hand, she did take it and stood. "It wasn't that the moving vehicle caused me to fall... It was myself, realizing what I was doing." She murmured. "Sorry everyone." She took a seat beside Devon, sitting across from Jin and Tabi.
She closed her eye, taking a deep breath. She would have to get over her embarrassment. "I... I would also like to hear about the swirling sands..." She said softly.

Amity nodded to Eir as she sat again, turning in her seat to face the group a little better. She grinned. "Stories about the Swirling Sands would be a great way to pass the time," She agreed, tucking her chin in her hand.
"I think getting to know each other better can't hurt, given what we don't know about where we're goin'." She added, frowning a little. Who knew what kind of a mess they might be walking into?

Jin opened up his messenger bag, flipping through his supplies before pulling out a hand size journal and set it on his knees, followed by a slender pen. He paused looking up at Sierra. "Are you alright," he questioned a bit concerned that she had such a reaction to the over eager grimm. Certainly it was nothing to swoon over.
"These things happen... though it might be best not to be so excitable in the future." Jin, twirled the pen in his hand before tapping it twice on paper. He was totally going to take notes if the professor would care to talk about her time in the swirling sands.

Lycos had a witty retort ready, about the whole degree for haircuts thing.
But...Then something was said about not...seeing...things first because they were in the first car. She was right. She was so right. Clearly this meant they needed to swap, because what if the person they were looking for just came from the side?! And what if they missed it while they were here chatting?! Their promised degrees were now in mortal danger.
With a yell that was more like a strangled squeak, Lycros grabbed Latros by the arm, yanking almost desperately. "We gotta go! We gotta jump! We gotta be behind!" They insisted, their ears, normally flopped down, now perked up almost upright with excitement as they started to calculate just how far they'd need to leap to get to the roof of the car behind them.
Devon nodded, as Eit explained the reason behind their fall. It felt like they should say something, though conversations about emotions weren't exactly their forte. Or conversations at all, really. It was possible that anything they said could only make things worse. Still...
They picked their book back up from the floor, and set it back down on his lap. "I see. As far as I consider things, mistakes do not always have to be a bad thing. Mistakes can be data. Information to learn from." They shrugged, not sure if that was a thing that Eir could find some comfort in.
"Are those cookies still on offer?"

Latros was startled by the sudden squeak Lycos made, snapping them out of thoughts of what sort of haircut they might be able to afford with a degree, only resisting slightly as they were tugged along.
"But we just got here! We didn't even introduce ourselves yet!"
When Lycos started getting into position to jump, they realized there probably wasn't much time before they'd risk being split up, growling lightly at the situation.
They looked back at the well-endowed hybrid with a shrug, speaking quickly but hopefully slow enough that she could understand. "Hi I'm Latros this is Lycos! Nice to meet you! We'll probably see you later byeee~!"
With that they shifted next to Lycos, feeling the car under them slow down a bit for whatever reason, giving them the perfect opportunity to jump as the next car was a little late to react. Bracing for the right moment, they leapt towards the roof of the next car. "Zoooooooom!"

x Saiph had made some great progress while only causing some mild disturbances. Occasionally they stopped to ask if anyone knew where Honeymint was and most seemed to point them onward. They were almost at the front when Saiph's attempt to move past someone caused the poor Naiad to stumble a bit too much. He turned, obviously a bit upset if his words were anything to go by, but he dropped it in order to be polite.
"No, that was my bad. I'm sorry. I thought I could slide by you." Saiph smiled apologetically. "Yeah, I was actually trying to find Miss Honeymint. Do you know where she is?" Saiph looked the Naiad up and down and wondered what reason he had to talk to the leader of the group. Was he also an officer-in-training taking this on as a way to try out his skills? He didn't look like anyone Saiph knew from their classes but maybe he was taking different time slots than them.
"My name's Saiph, what's yours?" Names first, more personal questions later.

Sierra gently bit into her cookie again to keep from snarking off to Jin about his “excitable” comment. This didn’t seem to be going very well, luckily the Dr. had asked for a cookie so she turned her attention to him “Of course darlin’ they most certainly are!” She held the tin out to him, inside were neat little stacks of cookies, of several types, all smelling warm delicious and wholesome. “Glad to know we’ve got a Dr. along, heaven only knows what we might encounter out there…. “she trailed off as there was discussion of stories, and shifting her position she nodded to the other Dr. offering to tell of the swirling sands...which she found quite interesting on several levels. But maintaining herself she put on a polite interested smile and waited to take mental notes.

tabi is in the last carriage!
Relaxing a bit as more people joined in on the conversation, Tabi nodded enthusiastically at Devon. "A book exchange sounds like a fantastic idea," she said, nodding enthusiastically, although she wasn't sure anyone would want to read the archaeological journals she'd brought along. Perhaps she should have brought a more relaxed reading repertoire - but at least she'd be getting work done while she was away!
Then someone came up with cookies, and a knife was pulled, and Tabi very dramatically reared back, ears twitching with distress - but just as quickly, the situation was defused and everyone was happily eating the snacks that had been brought along. Tabi took a cookie for herself as well, taking a moment to savor the flavors. They likely wouldn't get food fresher than this on the trip. "These are delicious, thank you," she said,
She grinned bashfully - did people really want to hear her stories about her tours? She wasn't sure she was the best storyteller, when it came to anything other than history itself. "The student tours are mostly uneventful," she admitted "Mostly we go to the trot reserve, and do a day-long ruins exploration. What I really like to do, though, are the tours at night, for the adults. The ruins are much creepier in the low light. The tourists usually like me to tell them ghost stories or stories about hauntings in the ruins. Has anyone ever been?" She smirked mischievously, the end of Tabi's tail twitching.

Guadalupe stared at the group that was in the carriage along with him. They were all pretty...unique. Not surprising, given the fact that his pal was here. The nixie popped his gum loudly, continuing to ponder. "I wouldn't mind a drink myself." he smirked at the hallowed nightmare, pulling down his shades to give them a wink.
Boy, he couldn't wait to get out of this carriage and stretch his legs. He stretched them out in his companions area, rubbing his flesh against the bakeneko's fur before giving a glance towards the others. "So what brings ya here of all places?" He knew his reason, of course. Reiterating it in his head wasn't any fun. Talkin' to people was.
First Car, Roof Maarika was about to point out that no one person could be EVERYWHERE and see it all... Not even two could... When suddenly they were moving. "AH. I'M MAARIKA. NICE TO MEET YOU!" She yelled at the suddenly leaping twins, and stared after them, blinking a few times in disappointment.
Finally, however, she just sighed and shrugged, sitting on the blanket they had left behind, figuring if nothing else she was comfortable, while watching where they were going, mostly out of curiosity, and a little desire for inspiration.
In fact, she pulled her sketchbook out of the one bag she had kept with her, along with a drawing pencil, and as they went, began to sketch ideas that struck her as they went, getting as comfortable as she could on a rocking coach.

Troy smiled warmly to the fae as they apologized, nodding a bit as his assumption was correct. "I believe I saw her sitting at the front when I came aboard. It would make sense, considering she's heading this operation." He combed his fingers through his hair to push it out of the way, hoping she hadn't moved or he would be sheepishly mistaken. "I'm Troy. It's nice to meet you, Saiph, despite our rather bumpy beginning." He chuckled a bit. "So what brought you to sign up for this mission?"

Location: Middle Carriage (near a window and across from Guadalupe)
Maoli was excited. Eager. Dancing in his seat in a very cramped carriage. A week on the road had yet to dampen his excitement, though he must have annoyed at the very least Guadalupe, what with his fidgeting behavior and constantly going to the top of the carriage and back. Now, he was staring keenly out the window... as he had for the previous days when he wasn't moving around. There just had to be signs of aliens! And he couldn't risk missing the signs!
His eyes were pulled away from the outside at the slight rub of legs. His companion, in more ways than one, was chattering with the others. His ears twitched, listening, and wincing. "Stop popping your gum," he snapped at the nixie, ears twitching irritably. Okay, so maybe he was a little cranky with being cramped up in the carriage, but 'lupe really did have that awful habit and it wasn't like Mao hadn't told him to stop that before!

It was a long ride and Coralynne was starting to fill some cramping in her legs. She really need to stretch but wasn't very much room to do it in.
Giving up on that though, Coralynne turned her attention to the nixie that had a asked why they where all here. Coralynne was here for many reasons, but the main reason was to help in anyway she could. It was just in her nature to want to help. But if she was being totally truthful she just wanted to find herself.
Clearing her throat Coralynne decided to answer the nixie, "Im here for the adventure and to help out in anyway I can." It sounded silly to her to say it out loud but it was the truth. "What brings you here?"

Location: Middle carriage Guadalupe was eager to listen to the other people in the car. It was a fresh breath of air compared to hearing Maoli ramble on about life forms that didn't exist. That he had no proof existed. It was ridiculous really. But...what could he do? There was no stopping the bakeneko from what he wanted.
It didn't stop him from glaring at the said offender, pulling his shades down once again. "It's not nice to be rude, Mao," he chewed his gum for a few secodns before blowing the biggest bubble that he could, relishing in the popping noise that it made. "Manners, remember? At least say please, ya twit." The bakeneko's brain was so absorbed in their hunt that they couldn't even be pleasant amongst so many other people. Terrible, just terrible.
Guadalupe turned to the others. "Sorry for my friend's nasty nature." he shook his head. "I swear he's nicer than he looks....or is actin'."
Ah, someone sensible! He widened his grin at Coralynne and nodded. "Adventure huh?" he looked outside. Guadalupe hadn't been paying attention to the forms that he had to fill out for this expedition. He didn't know where in the world they were going. Everything looked so new and foreign. "We're sure on an adventure alright." His gaze turned back to them. "I'm just here for a bit of cash money. Maybe treasure." He at least knew it was an expedition to a foreign land. With hope he'd get lucky. His bank account sure would be happy to have more than a few bucks in there. "Name's Guadalupe." he outstretched his hand for a fist bump, giving her a toothy grin.
