"It doesn't help that the things you're used to can completely surprise you," said Lalarit dully. "I feel like if I look away for a moment, I'll miss out."
"I don't spend much time in Everville. Mostly the outskirts. Is it busy?" he asked.

"It's a lively city. Lots of friendly ponies in the area."
She stares at the candies decorating the tables. "I would spend holidays here with my parents."She focused another attempt at lifting the candy to her. She is just so determined to get this down. The candy floated long enough to get close to her face before falling again.
What on earth was she doing? Someone had told her to check out the party that was happening that night and given her goal of seeing something beautiful every day she'd been convinced to go and have a peak, but Raripila was terrified through to her core of how many ponies there seemed to be as she got closer to the door. Once through it, forget it, there were so many! Standing on shivery legs, the white and red striped Aquatic watched the lights and dancers, taking in those talking along the edges and... were they all wearing flowers?
That at least... that was something that she could relate to given she lived Drizzletown with the flowers that grew in Spring. Given that was her alignment it made her feel just a touch more secure about where she was, but she still walked on shaky feet towards a free part of the wall and watched everyone with her complex eyes.
Truthfully it really WAS beautiful to watch them all dance and see how they interacted, but that was true of most places where she encountered other ponies and she was still so thrilled to have come to the surface in order to see them. Maybe it wouldn't be as frightening as she thought... so slowly Raripila started to tap one hoof on the ground in time with the beat as she swung her head around and just took in everyone and everything she could.

The moment Soliel asked her if she wanted to dance, Neoma let out a surprised squeak like gasp in response. ”…NO!” When she realizes that was rather loud, she quickly looks away in embarrassment as she clears her throat. She remains quiet for a moment or so, regaining her composure then looking back to her sister. ”Sorry… but I don’t think I could be out there with all the other ponies. Not yet at least. But, I won’t stop you if you would like to dance and meet the others at the party.”

tab She hadn't expected someone to walk up to her, startling. Her head snapped up, long hair slipping off her shoulder as she noted the arrival of... Oh! She remembered him! What was his name again? She smiled faintly, looking down at her tattoo.
tab"O-Oh, it's..." she trailed off as she was caught in examining it before a brighter smile arrived. "It's lovely. It still stings, so I'm keeping it clean and away from my hair and sweater. Am I doing a good job?" She leaned closer for him to see, a nervous and hopeful smile on her face.
tab They couldn't help but chuckle as the pegasus examined the half-eaten pile of candy. They lightly waved their hoof, picking up a candy to nibble on before responding.
tab"I'm Queeqeg," They answered lightly, examining the dance floor before returning their gaze to their new acquaintance. "Your hair.... it's lovely." For a moment that was all they said before nerves hit them. Don't be creepy...
tab"Ah, sorry, I'm a hairdresser. Usually ponies need special products to keep such bright hair shiny...." Curse their inability to hold a conversation!

tab Lost woods blinked down as someone approached him, wings shifting tighter to make more room. His eyes trailed where the new comer had mentioned might be quieter, ears flattening.

tab Ishmael settled by a table, bringing with him a beverage. Would it be rude to leave without telling Queeqeg? Probably, and the fish was his ride, but Ishmael could make the trek or call a carriage. He toyed with his hair, eyes narrowed and mouth tightened. Dumb.

tab Her head snapped to the side as a familiar voice piqued up, turning to be met by Swizzle. She tossed her head towards the box of donated glitter and decorations, a smile on her face.
:tab "Thought I'd drop by with some clearance items that fit the theme," she hummed, leaning back to sneak a drink off a nearby stand, taking a sip with half-lidded eyes. "And the drinks," she admitted, grinning cheekily.
tab"How's it going? It looks like it's a smash, honestly. Maybe I'll stick around."

With a laugh the aquatic tilted his head, mimicking leaning away from the bar to give the bat next to him a good once over. “You don't look short and weird to me,” he joked lightly, offering up an easy smile while he drank. “Besides,” he continued smoothly, without turning to look at him again, “Idris is a nice name. Just rolls right off the tongue.”
“Me?” Sunny took a breath and leaned back, rolling his shoulders in a fluid shrug. “Same. Can't meet anyone or get into trouble sitting at home. Not like I got a chance at getting into trouble with Scotch as my ride.” He chuckled as he jerked his head in the direction his companion had wandered off to.

The lounge room was much quieter, thankfully. With a content hum, Scotch moved forward and found a small table near a couple more ghoulies, though these seemed a little more than just that. It was rude to stare, however, so he took to eating a few pieces of chalky candy. Big mistake, as the sugary disaster of a treat was just as undesirable as they looked. He should have known.
Still, he was here and he should be making some kind of effort to introduce himself or mingle or something. It just wasn't in him for the moment. He'd much rather be at home, creating edible masterpieces worthy of royalty and not staring at these multi coloured bits of solidified powder.

With exuberance enough for the entirety of the party, Dancer practically kicked the doors open. Her wide eyes drank in the dancing lights and undulating bodies scattered across the floor while she pinned a crimson rose in her hair. She hadn't expected this when she'd been told about a party, but she most certainly was not going to back out now. Steel in her spine and light reflecting in her bright eyes, she made her way through the crowds. She hadn't made it far when she spotted what she thought to be an empty table. She didn't realize until she was standing before them that the table had indeed been occupied by a darkly coloured aquatic.
“Oh, do pardon me!” Dancer exclaimed, perhaps with a bit too much emphasis, but that was just how she was. A quick glance over the tight lipped expression the other wore and the reindeer had her next plan of action. “Art thou not having a pleasant evening?” She leaned down slightly, ensuring she was close enough the other would hear her as she spoke lowly, but far enough away to stay out of their personal space. “Doth thou not wish to be here?”

Oh boy, ho boy, this was going to be a fun night! Orange Zest had managed to drag along two of his friends, whom happened to be quieter ponies, to this event. He was not looking for love, per se, but he did like to mingle and flirt about. And while he did respect his friends spaces and privacy, he has asked them if they would like to meet new people, and they both said yes. There was no doubt in his mind that they were not expecting what he was bringing them to. However, having asked prior to the start of the event, he knew that there would be a quieter area for the more shy and reclusive ponies that he could take them to, if need me. The orange unicorn strutted towards the front of the venue, grinning as he opened the door with a small bit of magic and the two green pixies accompanying him slid slowly and quietly inside.
Orange Zest was the first approached by an event pony, distracting from his friends momentarily. "Ah, yes! Single and ready to mingle!" he grinned, winking at the stallion who pinned the red flower to his collar, whom in turn smirked, before stating they were not allowed to flirt while hosting. "Then I'll just have to make sure to see you again when the night is over," Zest chuckled, flicking his tail playfully.
However, as his eyes roamed over the other ponies in the venue, thoughts of the stallion whom had given him the rose fluttered away, much like his pixie friends had. Blue eyes had caught sight of an incredibly tall, dark, and handsome Dragon stallion a bit further in the doors. Glancing up, he made sure his hair was straight, then checked his rose and his socks. When finding himself presentable, he slowly but confidently strode across the room to the brown male. "Well, hello there," he chuckled, glancing between the stallion and the pony they were talking to. He smiled politely to the mare, flicking his ears in a hello. "Have either of you ever been to one of these events before?" It would be rude to cut the mare from the conversation, especially since he had been so abrupt at walking into it to begin with.
Lunar Mothews was the first to glance around at everything, tilting his head curiously, his ears flicking backwards slightly at the noise. "It is a wee bit loud in here, Zesty," he pouted, fluttering as he turned to face the unicorn who had dragged him along. "Is there not a quieter, more suitable place to meet new ponies? I feel like I have been meeting people fine at the book store. Can we not go there, or to a coffee shop?" When Zest didn't reply, and neither did Prickly Pear, whom also looked nerve wracked, Lunar huffed softly and fluttered off, choosing instead to leave his friends behind.
Almost immediately he fluttered into the same stallion who previously helped Orange Zest, frowning. "What do you mean, what is my relationship status?" The stallion was a bit confused as to why he had to explain it, but it seemed Lunar understood after a moment. "No, I do not have a significant other." With that, the stallion loosely tied a ribbon around the pixie's neck to fasten the red rose in a place where everyone could see. Lunar poked at it, frowning, before fluttering off towards the quieter section of the venue.
Prickly Pear felt so out of place, but she could never say no to a dear friend! Her and Orange Zest got along swimmingly, and he was always willing to try the things she liked, so she figured she should do the same for once! However, she was not expecting such an exciting state of mind and being as she entered behind him. In a flurry of moments, he was gone, as was Lunar, and the stallion approached her next. With a bit of a wheezing gasp and bright pink cheeks, she managed to choke out. "I-I'm single!" in a scared tone. The stallion gave her an apologetic look and apologized for startling her, to which she nodded her head and laughed nervously. "It's all right. My friend didn't tell me what this was, and then they left me..." she muttered, kicking the floor. The stallion nodded and gently pushed the stem of the flower amongst the slightly scratchy fluff at her neck before meandering off to newcomers.
She noticed the quieter area of the place and headed towards it, hoping for sanctuary.

"I think lively isn't my thing," said Lalarit. "I like the quiet, but I like travelling more. And I do like friendly ponies."
"Is there much to do here in the holidays?"
He watched the blue-light-wrapped heart float towards them and fall. "That was in improvement," he said encouragingly. "Just like learning to fly; you have to learn how to do it best."
Soliel giggles at her sister's outburst. She wasn't expecting such a loud response."I just thought I would ask, you never know?"
She looks around the room and notices a handsome ghoulie standing nearby "Hello there." she smiles.

"Oooh!" Swizzle looks over the treasure trove of glitter and decor. "This is AWESOME! I'll go touch up some of the tables after this."
"I think for the first ever Party Pop event, it's better than I could've anticipated. Please enjoy yourself and thank you for helping out!"
Emalthya
Aviary blushed and sheepishly admitted in a quiet voice "I ..don't know how to fly.."
She tried to briskly move past that "I would go to melty's ice cream shoppe a lot or to the park to watch birds while my parents were busy."

"Ah. Well it's great," said Lalarit. He had assumed her change... because she had no experience with magic... would have been as a pegasus to an alicorn, but obviously it was from an earth.
"I like watching animals as well, particularly digging animals and birds," he said. "They don't have a care at all, they just do what they know."
"I love birds! They are all different sizes and colors. Fill different niches. I liked being able to compare what birds were common in Everville versus Drizzle Town." She could keep going.

Lalarit grinned. Unfortunately, this tended to make him look a bit scary, so he didn't normally, but he was delighted. He loved talking about ecosystems. "I don't do a lot of comparison between places," he said, "but I do keep track of bird population from year to year. Some of the brightest birds come from the desert, though the brightest of all come from the jungle. My favourite birds are nocturnal."
One ear flickered backward as someone's voice broke through his silent visions of grand confections and Scotch turned his head slowly. He was pleasantly surprised when his turquoise gaze landed on one of the twins he'd seen earlier. “Good evening,” he nodded to the hybrids--the horn may have clued him in--and quickly swiped up a napkin to wipe his paws. Despite working a messy job, the ghoulie firmly believed in keeping himself at least presentable and having chalky sugar covered paws just would not do.

"I'll have to come visit sometime then. I'd love to see what birds are around." She tried to turn down her excitement."oh! when I was a foal I got to see a young great horned owl. It was on a branch in town!"She wasn't doing a good job of toning down.

Soliel giggled and gave a small wave. "Looking for somewhere to chill?" She patted the couch."We try to not bite."
His brows rose slightly but Scotch chuckled at the invitation to join them. He had no company for the time being and theirs seemed preferable to the aquatic he'd just left at the other room's bar. As much as he liked his friend, the guy could be a bit much from time to time. “I suppose,” he began as he moved forward, “as long as I'm not intruding, I'd love to join you.”
