F’ked and Blue Lerenth

She impressed, the blue informed his rider. As if there had been any doubts with those rainbow eyes. Good for her! One down, three to go. F'ked leaned forward, eager to see who the next lucky pair would be. This was a lively clutch. While he'd hoped for a blue, the last egg revealed herself to be green. Another beautiful green is ok with me.

And it looks like that bronze wants someone from the stands! F'ked chuckled gleefully to himself. Sure enough, a lad among the spectators rose up to go meet the bronze. Good for them!

Servitor Loryan

Loryan watched as the main green impressed first. That left one green, one bronze, and an egg, whom he thought might also be a green. Things were quiet for a moment, then he noted the bronze had reached the end of the line. Where would he go next? Back through? Loryan realized the bronze was scanning the stands. Who would he pick?

Ah, there you are. Loryan choked a moment then saw nothing but rainbow eyes. He was positive his heart fluttered in his chest. Was this.... was this really happening? You didn't make yourself very easy to find up there, Loryan, but it's alright. Your Washawath forgives you. I'm sorry! I didn't know! Loryan couldn't believe his eyes as the bronze left the candidates and came to the edge of the Stands before starting up.

He could hear the shuffles and excited murmuring as the young dragon came closer. It didn't really give him much time to consider this new option. Loryan took a deep breath and rose to his feet to head down the steps to meet his dragon. His Dragon! Washawath! He grinned as he knelt to take the bronze head into his hands. "You must be hungry."

Candidate Turanves

He was ready for the pain, but it never came. Not in the way he expected at least. Turanves took a solid hit to his stomach and let out an indignant 'oof' as he went sprawling to his back. The sand stung his skin that was exposed, and as he tried to inhale to catch his breath that had been knocked from him, he got a face full of sand. He sputtered as the green took herself off. Slowly he levered himself out of the sands and brushed himself off as if nothing was wrong.

His eyes tracked the bronze as he finished among the candidate then went to pick someone from the stands. Welp. That left two greens. Support still working her way free of her tough egg. Reserved seemed to be waiting for her though. Turan watched as Reserved helped her sister free. The two greens were pretty cute. Oh, there was something interesting there. He tried to get a closer look without moving any closer.

With two safe Impressions in quick succession V' was feeling relaxed and more than a bit smug when Support finally hatched with the help of her sister and... Well....

"The shaff?" V' leaned forward in her seat, squinting across the sands at the lively green. Was she imagining it or was something up with her face? Nope, it wasn't just her, people around the stands were mumming anew - the slightly off colours of the other three were nothing compared to whatever this was. Is she sick? V' asked Lithustoth, she'd have some kind of clue right?

Lithustoth did not in fact have a clue, her eyes wheeled through a multitude of confused shades in quick succession as she watched Support prance across the sands. After a couple of moments however Lithustoth collected herself and lifted her voice into a more powerful hum than ever. Welcome my children! she called, both meaning it herself and demanding it of the rest of the Weyr. Then more softly and to the unbonded greens alone she added; Daughters, find your riders, they are waiting here for you.

With Support freed thanks to Reserve, Amila's head tilted in curiousity once more.

The colors hadn't actually bothered her, not really. Unusual families were something she was used to, even -- but here was a dragonet with something on her face, and... And...

She wanted to feel sad for the little green, she did -- but the baby didn't look terribly bothered at all -- so happy, so energetic, and instead of wincing, Amila slowly smiled warmly. Well nobody was perfect; if they were, the planet might be different, so instead the Candidate crooned gently over the hatchlings, even with two Impressed -- this was all new, right? There was no right to judge, not here, not from her. If the daughter of a sickly woman, a man, and two godfathers was worth being a candidate then these babies deserved to be cooed over like any on-color hatchings, and THAT was all Amila felt mattered, the Candidate murmuring softly.

"What sweet sisters. I hope they find Theirs soon, the sweethearts."

And she hoped Reserve was alright...

Support paused her prancing, turning to brightly whirling gaze towards her mother. Happily she skipped over to the larger green, weaving in and out of her mother's legs with a series of happy peeps, rubbing against her like a contented feline. Looking up the chubby green gave a loving croon, reaching out to Lithustoth mentally to brush against her mind. It was an adoring mental embrace. One of daughter to mother, not a farewell, but a see you later. The quiet promise that she loved her and would always love her, even as she sought out her other half. The small green nuzzled against her mother before happily running off. Looking over her shoulder and letting out a parting trumpet as she ran towards the candidates.

It seemed that the bizarre looking green knew exactly where she was going, bounding towards the candidates. Her eyes began to whirl in bright rainbows as she ran. My life. My love. My Amila. The green crooned as her mind melded together with the only person she could have ever wanted. There was no doubting her path as the newly hatched dragon ran straight towards her chosen. I could never be sad with you near, Amila. And to your Seistreth you are, without a doubt, absolutely perfect. Reaching her chosen the strange looking dragon wound herself around her, her rainbow gaze full of the adoration that poured into her.

Still on the sands Reserve watched her sister impress. Slowly the pale green looked around herself, taking in the sight of the shattered shells around her. Cool eyes rose to Lithustoth, the dragon giving an almost imperceptible nod to her mother's sentiment. In an almost awkward she reached out a briefly touched the older green's mind, before withdrawing back inside herself. Her gaze turned towards the crowd, landing immediately on a young healer in the stands.

Hello, Mennick. A light voice spoke to the healer. Although her eyes whirled a rainbow, the dragon did not pour herself into the young man's mind as many other dragon's might. There was a gap between them, a fear shimmering through their bond. For Reserve, the rest of the cavern fell away in that moment, as she came to her precipice. She loved her Mennick, so very, very much. Yet she knew herself. Knew the cold parts of her mind. She would not blame the young man for rejecting her. Her Mennick. So smart. So caring. So undeniably wonderful. She did not deserve him, but there could never be another. The young dragon bared it all to him as she stood alone on the sands. I am Heimalth. And I would be yours. ...If you should have me?

Amilaand green Seistreth

The girl watched the green fondly, smiling at the sheer joy on the baby. There was nothing wrong with her at her at all -- not if she was happy and healthy -- and then the baby looked out to them.

And came to her. For a moment Amila faltered as Seistreth came, but asfter a moment the whirl of rainbows, the soft gentle voice -- this was her dragon, and the girl rushed to her, holding Seistreth in her arms as the dragonet wriggled and squirmed, tucking into her bonded as nothing but love and comfort and joy spread between then, ASmila tucking her face in Seistreth's shoulders, the dragonet pressing her face in Amila with equal love and joy that theysimply had each other as the dragonet then squirmed and wriggled, using her bulk to pin her bonded for some much desired small, loving kisses before tugging at her. Might there be food, Hers?

Being born was hard! And Seistreth then cheeped.

Mine, Amila mine, should we not have breakfast? She asked, eyes wide, wiggling all over. Amila giggled.

Oh, my Seistreth, of course. But you might let me up, first!

M'nick and Green Heimalth / Healer, mind

"Heimalth." The healer was on his feet, but he did not remember rising from his seat. He still held Silvie, clutching her to his chest. Even so, he called out to her, heedless of the volume. "My Love! Of course I'll have you!" Hefting to get a better grip on the girl, propelled himself down the stairs. He could not get to her fast enough. He was flushed as if exertion was an issue. His heart was flip-flopping and he had a roaring swarm of butterflies in his gut.

Then Maddeck was in front of him. "Congratulations. Here, give me Silvie, brother."

Then he was on the Sands, in front of his Heimalth, gazing into her beautiful faceted eyes. The outpouring of love and acceptance was like a warm wave washing all around her, soothing her insecurities. It bolstered her, built her up with confidence, but never did he force himself through her. He was on his knees, his hands on her shoulders. "For me, there is no other dragon on all of Pern."

And for me, there is no other rider.

Maddeck / Healer, medic

For Maddeck, his brother's Impression was bittersweet. For a moment he felt abandoned. His boyfriend and then his brother. It was a difficult emotion to suppress. But he managed, taking a deep breath as he rose to his feet. There were congratulations from the other Healers and release to go get his adopted daughter. He couldn't get away fast enough, and the reason for his propulsion was completely different from Mennick. What ould they call him now? Had they ever discussed it?

He took Silvie; he congratulated his brother. He watched the new dragon-rider pair get acquainted before his brother headed off to feed her.

Where was Viri?

He kissed the side of Silvie's head.

As her last daughter greeter her rider - a healer not a candidate but that wasn't important - Lithustoth hummed the final notes of her welcoming song and moved carefully to give each of her four precious hatchlings a nuzzle before turning her gaze onto their riders. Congratulations to you all, take good care of my hatchlings; the future of the north rests on their wings, so no pressure or anything.

Up in the stands V' chuckled briefly at her dragon's sentiment and then rose to her feet, turning to address the crowd with her head held high and a sharp grin curving her lips. "Thank you all for coming," see weyrleaders, she could be civil when she wanted to, "Today has shown us that there's still hope for the north, it's going to be a tough fight but if all of Lithustoth's sisters can clutch like she has, and if all of her daughters and their daughters do, we'll be ready to face the Pass and protect the Holds. Uh," she glanced at the Weyrleaders and after a quick message between dragons she continued; "There will be a feast tomorrow evening, we hope that our guests will remain and celebrate with us - our Headwoman is preparing accommodation as we speak. So, yeah, get a good night's sleep tonight because there won't be much tomorrow!"

That seemed to be a good enough speech and so without as much as a pause V' turned, jumped down onto the sands, and strode over to greet her dragon. I'm so proud of you! Her Lith, her Lith, had given them four healthy dragons - sure they looked a bit strange but who cared about that? They were going to save Pern, and anyone who didn't like the look of them could take it up with her.
