Tries: 4 Wins: 1
Kaileen was over the moon. She won something. It would probably be the only won she would ever get. She didn't care. As long as she won at least once. She would have just taken her gift and leave but she had already paid up front. Plus there was a no refunds sign by the booth.
She took another wreath and smiled at the girl.
"Wish me luck on this try."
The girl had a blank state on her face.
Kaileen sighed and rolled her eyes. Guess she was in this by her self. She threw the wreath toward her mark.
"You lost. You have one more chance left. "
Kaileen took the last wreath from the girl.

Tries: 5/5 Wins; 3
Kaileen took the last one from the girl. She stood in front of where she was suppose to throw it. She didn't care any more. She was just going to throw it and where it lands it lands. She already won something and she was going to choose a prize and just make her way home.
She threw it and didnt even look at what the outcome was. She was making her way towards the prize table to choose.
"You won two extra prizes. Congrats."
Kaileen turned toward the girl.
"I did?"
Kaileen went up to the prize table and choose three prizes.
The girl turned toward her
"The snowman is for all five wins and the reindeer is for three."
Kaileen took up the reindeer plush.
"I will take this."
She could add it to her other plushs.

1/5 : 0 rings
While Reid Covey never bothered attending affairs that usually costed money, when his Umma had caught wind of the small little winter carnival going on in town, he couldn't help but tug on his old, worn coat and escort the small woman out towards the more wintry side of town.
They had been good, spending wise, as far as he was concerned. He never bothered spending much on himself but when her eyes lit up as they passed by certain booths, Reid was weak to the one woman in his life. She always shook her head and protested but from the way her tired, old eyes gazed at certain things... well, Reid knew better.
And she'd taken care of him for twenty some-odd years so it was long overdue for him to return the favor.
The sound of jingle bells had caught their attention and they'd wandered their way over to one of the game booths. A little prodding from Umma worked his typical Grinch-like attitude, her convincing magic somehow causing a dollar bill to produce itself from his stained leather wallet.
Narrowing his eyes, he took a deep breath and slowly began to toss the rings out towards the snowmen, almost frisbee-like.

2/5: 3 rings
................
As each ring flew out towards the snowmen, every single one of the five managed to bounce their way against the side of the plastic little hats and go toppling to the side. Not a single one managed to land in place - how humiliating.
The thin line that composed his mouth drew even thinner as his jaw clenched. His wallet reappeared and he fished out another weathered dollar, handing it over to the girl for another set of five rings.
Setting his feet apart, he steadied himself and tried again.

3/5: 1 ring
"You got three! Would you like to choose a prize or would you like to try again and try to get to five?"
Reid was more than satisfied with keeping a three ring prize - it meant spending less money and getting some rinkydink item to give to Umma. But as he glanced over the array of options, none of them struck out to him in particular as being worthy for his dearly beloved mother.
There was a large snowman, though... and only two more rings...
Sighing, he pulled out his wallet and shelled out three more dollars. Five in total, that was more than enough to play for a single game, in his mind.
Fifteen more rings were put in front of him and he collected the first set of five, trying to mimic the stance he'd just made as he tried again.

4/5: 1 ring
One more ring.
He knew Umma wasn't ashamed of him but Reid himself was embarrassed at doing such a shoddy job in front of his own mother. It was a good thing that he'd already paid in advance for two more sets of rings - it was getting old very fast that he kept fetching his wallet to shell out more dollars for some stupid game.
Taking the second set of rings from the fifteen he'd purchased, he tossed them out a little more carelessly than the first fifteen.

5/5: 1 ring
Oh for the love of....
This game was like pulling teeth. It was almost painful, seeing how much of a failure he was being at something so stupidly simple as trying to loop a ring around a wide brimmed top hat. Every snowman seemed to grin at him in a knowing way, mocking him and his ineptitude.
He'd achieved his five but still had five rings he'd paid for. Not wanting to look like a total Scrooge and request a refund for the unused rings, he simply tossed them out for the hell of it.

Reid Covey: 6 total rings
So six rings in total.
He nudged Umma towards the prize section of the small booth, completely expecting the older woman to collect the three foot tall snowman, which Reid was more than willing to haul over his shoulder for the remaining duration of their outing. Instead, she did something surprising: she picked not one, but two of the little Reindeer plushies.
"One for you and one for me," she said almost triumphantly, as if she'd been the one to win the prizes herself. Her gratitude was undeniable, however, as the frail woman insistently tugged her tall boy down to give him both a hug and a peck on the cheek, which Reid dutifully endured because it was Umma.
She clutched the deer against her chest as she toddled onward, Reid now forced to hold his own for the time being.
What the hell was he supposed to do with a stuffed animal?

Queenie Powers: 1/5: 2 rings 2/5: 3/5: 4/5: 5/5:
While Queenie wasn't a very big fan of attending carnivals, she'd been cajoled out of her house to join a group of friends out for the new winter carnival in town. It gave her an excuse to get out of the house and with school done and them being let out early for the holidays by Ms. Ellis, Queenie was actually beginning to feel a little cooped up, sitting around and doing... well, nothing back at home.
So with a few bills coaxed out of her father for the affair, she'd joined the gals and made her way out into the snow and cold to investigate the fun being had by a good portion of the city. Most of it was hokey - gimmicky stuff she expected to see. Even when the girls approached the Tinsel Toss booth she tried not to roll her eyes... but since all of them were doing it, she felt more or less obligated to do it too.
Not one to be shown up (or be seen as the poor girl of the group) she slid a five dollar bill over to the attendant like her friends had, receiving twenty-five rings for her effort.
Picking up the first set, she flung them forward without a second thought.

Queenie Powers: 1/5: 2 rings 2/5: 2 rings 3/5: 4/5: 5/5:
Okay... two rings wasn't bad for a first set. She still had four to go, which meant a better chance at getting a bigger prize, right?
Biting the inside of her cheek, Queenie watched as the other girls tossed out their sets of rings before shifting to toss out her next five, holding her breath as if it would help send them sailing even better.

Queenie Powers: 1/5: 2 rings 2/5: 2 rings 3/5: 0 rings 4/5: 5/5:
So it seemed like two was going to be her lucky number when it came to ring toss games, whether she liked it or not.
Glancing over at the prizes on display, pink eyes scoped out the available options and tried to figure out what exactly she wanted for her efforts. The bitter thought crossed her mind that if she'd had a boyfriend then she wouldn't have been expected to do her own tossing and winning a stuffed animal would be so much more satisfying if it were purchased by a brawny man and then toted around over his shoulder while she shopped and browsed through the rest of the carnival.
Wrinkling her nose, she tossed the next five rings and tried her best not to growl.

Queenie Powers: 1/5: 2 rings 2/5: 2 rings 3/5: 0 rings 4/5: 2 rings 5/5:
Bitter thoughts clearly betrayed her abilities, resulting in a whopping zero more top hats being caught by her tinsel tossing. How embarrassing.
At least the other girls around her seemed to be struggling with the same kind of issue - none of them had brought their boyfriends (thankfully), so they were all left to their own strength and skill to try to win their own prize.
Trying to clear her mind, Queenie took a deep breath and tossed out her fourth set of tinsel rings, actually trying this time to get at least one ring around the snowmens' hats.

Much, much better.
Satisfied that she'd managed another two rings onto hats, she was thoroughly pleased with her ending results. Granted, she still had another set of rings to go through, so Queenie simply tossed them out without even pausing to concentrate on what she was doing -- what did it matter, how many more she got when she was already able to receive the largest prize on display?
