Corrupt Eternal Carnelian chooses to stay downstairs and Find the Backdoor

Capt. Huntite chooses to join the group Searching for Youma Upstairs.

[5 + 5]

Huntite wasn't too surprised to see there had been as at least a few youma within the building, it only made sense after all. They were within their territory and it had laid abandoned for centuries. However with the youma pair leaving for the upper floors it wasn't long before the first floor was cleared and the group was getting ready to split once again. The Captain had already made up his mind on where he was going to go even before he notices a few of the corrupted, as well as one of the cats were heading upstairs.

[Prompt 3 - Answers]

Choice 1
The group of soldiers head one-by-one up the old staircase, using caution in case the youma ambush them while in close quarters. Just as the last of them clear the final step, a loud snap is heard, followed by some worrisome rumbling. All of a sudden, the whole staircase collapses in on itself, filling the entire lower floor with thick swirls of dust and broken splinters of wood.

Was that coincidence, or plan? Whatever the cause, they have no choice but to look for another way down. Trying to jump back down into the wreckage might cause them injury.

Choice 2

Uvarovite leads the group downstairs into the back of the tavern, bringing them through an old service corridor. As soon as the last soldiers passes through the doorway, a loud snap is heard, and the door slams shut. On the other side they can hear the sound of something collapsing! Although a few try to get it open, the door is being held shut by something on the other side and simply won’t budge. They can’t retrace their steps to the main parlor, so they have to keep going forward.

At the other end of the corridor is the kitchen, although little remains intact. Half of the outside wall has been blown away, leaving a large gap in the building where the door used to be. Door or not, at least they can get out!

[Prompt 4a - Characters Upstairs]

With no one to guide them, the soldiers that are now stuck upstairs have to make their own decision. They know that they need to get back to the rest of their group, but they’re also at risk of being ambushed by the very youma they were hoping to surprise, and their primary objective is still to find the crystalline gear they came for. Since there’s no clear leader among them to give orders, they each must make their own decision about how they will proceed. They may choose to look in the Left Room, the Right Room, or on the Balcony.

[Choice 1]:
The Left Room is the closest to the staircase and, other than that, has no outstanding feature that makes its door appear any different from the others on this level. Its simply the only one on the left hand side that will open.

If your character chooses to go through the door on the left, please copy the text below and include it in your post.
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to open the Left Door and search inside.

[Choice 2]:
The Right Room is the farthest from the staircase and, other than that, has no outstanding feature that makes its door appear any different from the others on this level. Its simply the only one on the right hand side that will open.

If your character chooses to go through the door on the right, please copy the text below and include it in your post.
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to open the Right Door and search inside.

[Choice 3]:
The balcony is straight ahead and fully visible from the staircase. Although there doesn’t seem to be any immediately apparent way to get down from first glance, perhaps your character will be able to communicate with the group members outside. There has to be a ladder somewhere.

If your character chooses to walk out onto the balcony, please copy the text below and include it in your post.
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to head out to the Balcony to look for a way down.

[Prompt 4b - Characters Outside]

The back of the tavern seems like it was once a bustling center for the business and, in any other circumstance, might have been interesting to any history lovers among their ranks. To the immediate left of the busted wall is an old stable, likely meant to house the horses of travelers and a few stable animals. To the right is what appears to be an old storehouse, likely for dried goods and supplies. A pathway stretches ahead of them, but there’s a mist lingering across the land in the distance and Uvarovite doesn’t seem pleased with the idea of anyone going that far alone. His primary objective is finding a way to reach the group on the second floor.

The group members outside can explore the area around the storehouse for an alternate entrance or check to see if the stable has a ladder.

[Choice 1]:
Your character opts to explore the area around the old storehouse. The tavern obviously employed the use of a service corridor inside, so chances are they had other ways for people to slip quietly in and out without disturbing the guests.

If your character decides to explore the area around the storehouse, please copy the text below and include it in your post:
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to scout the storehouse area.

[Choice 2]:
Your character heads over to the stable to search for a ladder. Stables are usually full of all sorts of yard work supplies and the group can even see that it has a loft through one of the open windows. You can’t get up to the loft without a ladder, right?

If your character decides to explore the stable, please copy the text below and include it in your post:
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to checkthe stable for tools.

Lt. Gunningite chooses to scout the storehouse area. [+5, +3, +5]

Once they were out the other side - Gunningite having followed the general out through the back of the building - she was a bit perturbed. The door had slammed behind them, and it seemed no means of cajoling or trying to force the door open seemed to be having any affect. The nice captain from before was still inside or so she thought - and she'd heard things fall - so she hoped they were okay.

Worrying her bottom lip, she looked around, before deciding the storehouse was probably the better of the two options. She wasn't a personal fan of stables - horses were messy and even if there was a ladder - that would take way to long to get however many people were trapped inside out, would be better for them to jump and be caught by their fellows below if they could.

Reven chooses to scout the storehouse area.

"Hmm, yes. Let's." Reven was definitely in favor of anything that let her show off her usefulness to the Negaverse. She'd been such a slouch of a guardian for so long, she felt she had a lot to make up for, and even if she was doing well to rectify this there was still a long way to go in her mind.

And also according to Silk.

As she was settled into gap between collar and neck the kitten sprawled, thin body stretching out to curl around the senshi's shoulders, tail flicking continuously. She fell quiet as they followed the general out again, acting as a second pair of eyes to be sure there was nothing creeping up behind them of from the side.

"There's crystals everywhere, I dunno if we'll be able to get in here," she murmured quietly beside Mabs ear as they followed the group towards the storehouse.

Lt. Geocronite chooses to open the Left Door and search inside.

Rushing into things never turned out well did they? Geocronite had followed the General's youma up the stairs and once all of them had finally gathered in there, the staircase, of course, collapsed behind them. He took a quick look down and decided that wasn't the way to go. He wouldn't mind jumping onto a bunch of wood, but the fact that there could be nails underneath it... not good.

Instead there were 3 places that he could look. The first door he saw was to the left, there was some balcony, and a door to the right and farther away. He decided on the left. After all, the balcony could collapse just like the staircase did. And the right was just farther.

So the left door it was! He made sure to move out of the way of the others, and wandered over to it. Of course, it could be a closet that the youma was hiding in and would jump out the second he opened the door and kill him... but the same could be said of the right door... right?

Well, there was only one way to find out. He put his hand on the handle of the left door...

All right Geocronite might be getting everyone upstairs killed in a moment so just be on the lookout

(Corrupt Sailor Meridiana) chooses to checkthe stable for tools.

“Hey,” Meridiana turned to Arabia, a deep look of concern overshadowed her normally overconfident expression. “I’m going to head to the stables.”

“If we can find the ladder, great. But I’m going to see if there’s anything in there we can use to fight with.” She glanced over her shoulder at the ominous mist in the distance. “It feels like we’re lambs being lead to slaughter.” And somewhere out there was their soon to be executioner.

For the first time since arriving, the Senshi of the Succubus actually felt scared.

Captain Reinerite

Reinerite chooses to open the Left Door and search inside.
(Score to date: 5 + 5 + 3)

The loud 'snap' was ominous, Reinerite turning with a frown as something rumbled. She was in time to see the old staircase collapsing, shards of wood falling downwards leaving it clear that she (and those upstairs with her) were going to have to have to find an alternative route to get back down–

But there was the gear, the gear which was their whole purpose for being out here - and there was also the fact that the two shadowy figures had come this way. Shadowy figures that they were currently trapped upstairs with - with no way of knowing whether there were any more of them.

She considered over the options that appeared open to her, keeping her hand gripped around her weapon.

There were only really 3 choices available to her - the balcony, which she could see from here, or to head left or right.

She discounted the balcony, because she couldn't how to get down from there, not unless there was a handy ladder stashed away - which she doubted.

That left either going right, or going left.

Left or right?

Right or left?

Reinerite settled on going left, noting that a Lieutenant also appeared to have the same idea - and she kept a firm hand on her staff because she hadn't forgotten about the youma.

Logic said that tools would be where they would be needed most.
Besides, what was the worst that could happen?

Aside from you know, ending up dead.

Corrupt Sailor Arabia chooses to checkthe stable for tools. (13pts)

The door slamming shut behind them made Arabia jump. The sound coming from behind made him nearly stop in his tracks. He had only been half joking but that sound coming from behind the door was very clear...something had given way. That had been why he had wanted to stay on the ground. If they were trapped, he didn't have to worry about dropping through and breaking something else landing on rubble.

Now, as he looked up to the ceiling above them, Arabia felt himself give a shutter. To be trapped up there or to be trapped down here?

It was with a sigh of relief that he walked with the group back outside.

Walking outside, Arabia followed Meridiana towards what looked to have been a stables. "Just pretend you are the wolf the shepard has not seen." Arabia tried to comfort her as much as himself when he reached out a hand and touched her shoulder. "I doubt they would expect your bite to be as strong as it is."

Corrupt Guardian Obscura chooses to head out to the Balcony to look for a way down. [ Points so far, +5 +3 +3 ]

The average Lieutenant? He didn't seem too much like the other Agents milling around them. It was better than the sort of gloominess she felt form a lot of them. Life was supposed to be fun. In some way at least.

They followed behind the group that went upstairs and as the last of them made it up, the sound of the staircase behind them crumbling sent a shiver down her spin. It seemed way to convenient that they all managed to make it up when it suddenly fell. Was this a trap? Were youma capable of planning something like this. The hairs along her back stood up, suddenly concerned that this wasn't going to be a simple plan of attack anymore. She had talked Fettelite into coming up here, she had a responsibility to make sure they made it out of here.

"We can be sure one of the rooms isn't also a tarp. We need to make sure we have an escape plan before we engage any enemy.Let's check out the balcony outside."
