Eternal Amphitrite

You could ask. Amphitrite couldn't help it; she laughed, however softly, because it was a rather mirthless laugh at how utterly simple Adamantine made it sound. "I suppose I could, " she remarked, lips still curled in an odd sort of smile, and then happened to lock eyes with Leucite itself.

It was hard not to look at him and see everything that had taken place between them, from the shattered fragments of her memories, jagged and sharp at the edges, to the bitter and rather shameful display of fear and rage on the rooftop when she had been much younger and less capable than she was now. As hard as Amphitrite tried to forget it, on rainy days, the fingers he'd broken with glee still ached.

Now, he was waving her over, and with things being what they were... to do anything but to refuse it would have been acknowledging that she still had a problem. She didn't want to feel this way, and she kept trying to overcome it, she did. The whole hospital mess had just been more proof that they desperately needed to stop bickering amongst themselves.

None of this conflict showed on her face, of course. Although perhaps Nissonite, having been in such close quarters with her, would recognize the slight tightening of her jaw, or the way she pulled up her shoulders. "Right, well. Seems I'm being invited. I'll be back in a moment." She flashed a more earnest smile at Silk. "Keep an eye on things while I'm gone, won't you?" The senshi flashed him a wink before she walked off.

She rather wished that Nissonite would stay and chat with his new teammates a bit longer, although she wouldn't have minded his support if he chose to follow after her. That was why she said nothing one way or the other, although she did glance back over her shoulder once, just to see what he would choose.

Along the way, she made it a point to regard Faustite with nod and a smile, pleased to see that he had been rewarded with a promotion. Then, that done, she refocused her attention on Leucite, trying to squash that lingering dark feelings boiling unpleasantly in her gut as she flashed him a smile. "General. It's been a long time, hasn't it?" Not since he was a captain and she a super, if she remembered it right; it had been years, after all. She regarded the general-king with a curious gaze. "And this is...? I'm sorry, I don't believe I've had the pleasure."

Lieutenant Kainite

There were a lot of people Kainite could have inflicted himself on, to be honest. But a whole lot of them were clustered around the insane power signature of some guy, which hey, was admittedly pretty impressive and all. But did everyone really need to make such a big deal out of it? No one lost their mind over his general like that, and honestly, bossman cut a much more imposing figure at a glance.

(Of course, since Kainite knew how awesome he was, that same attitude flowed right into his general. Best General Ever. He was looking into getting him a mug. Yeah, that would probably get him promoted to captain in no time.)

Then he happened to spot someone off to the side who was very pink and agitated looking, and hey, he was swinging around some neat looking blades, and -

"If I threw my drink at you, could you slice it in half mid-air?" As he asked, Kainite was sipping rather obnoxiously at his weapon of choice. He'd loaded it up with some fresh cola before he'd headed into the rift. Priorities and all. "I mean, I'd want to drink more of it first. That would be an awful waste of soda. But I mean, could you? - are you hungry? I've got some provisions ready in case this goes on terribly long."

He took another sip. "You're a captain, right? How long did that take? Have you been in the negaverse long? Have you been here before?"

Not long after the last of the soldiers filed into the courtyard, a loud, shrill protest of metal on metal carried through the still air, silencing the buzzing conversation that had sprung up among the new arrivals. It was the tower door’s ancient, rusty hinges that grated as it swung open to reveal a group of well known faces among the Negaverse ranks: Haumea, Uvarovite, Lepidolite and Alkaid. They took a position at the head of the crowd, making their status as the mission leaders obvious. In the watchful silence, it was quickly noted how close Haumea stood to the Ascendant General. And how very protective the eternal's stance was. There was a look and a nod shared between the two corrupts before Haumea stepped forward to break the silence.

“Welcome to Portunus,” he began, throwing his arms out wide to encompass the battered, decrepit bit of civilization the Alkaid had discovered deep within the rift. As he spoke, her eyes drifted across the ranks of soldiers, lingering here and there upon a familiar face or a corrupt she had yet to meet, clearly making note of them.

“There's no point in lying to you, we rarely have to assemble like this to explore our own territory. This will be a dangerous mission, for everyone, not just for those of you unable to brave the rift alone. This tower you see,” Haumea's eyes flickered from the group to stare up at the tall spire, waving a hand towards the peak to draw their attention, “was once a very important cosmic gate. I'm sure," he continued drily, with a hint of a fanatical gleam in his eyes, "you can see how such a thing would be vastly useful to Metallia and to our cause? To get it operational again, we must find four crystalline gears that were stolen and hidden away long ago. They allow this tower to function."

The tall corrupt paused and shared another glance with his mentor. At Alkaid's encouraging nod, he forged ahead.

"We’ll be splitting into three groups and heading into the village to try and locate these gears. Each group will be given a copy of a... map of sorts that I found. Based upon the clues within, I believe we can accomplish our goal.”

His eyes fell back to the group before him and narrowed, giving his tattooed face a frightening intensity. This was a straight-to-the-point debriefing - all they needed was instruction.

“Before we go, you should understand that the youma that live here have been driven mad by hatred for our Kingdom. They are all that is left of the folk who once lived and worked within Portunus, including the one who hid the gears we seek. They will not yield to you, nor will they treat you with any kindness. Act foolishly and you will pay the price.”

With his curt warning still lingering in the air, the corrupt Eternal turned and moved to stand with the other leaders, taking his place in line with one hand gently touching Alkaid's cracked shoulder.

[Prompt One]

This prompt is very simple - you must choose the leader you wish to follow for the majority of the event. By posting your choice, your character will earn an initial 5 points toward their total score regardless of the leader they choose. This will be the only prompt that gives the same amount of points for all choices.

~

Choice 1: [Uvarovite]
The silver-haired general stood silent for a moment, considering the group. Then, raising one hand, he gave a small wave.

"Come along, we're investigating the old Tavern."

(If you choose to follow Uvarovite, please copy, edit and paste the following code in this thread within 24 hours. You are free to add an rp response to it or post only the code if you wish.)

[Prompt #1 Answer:] (INSERT CHARACTER NAME) will be following Uvarovite to the the tavern.

+5 points

Choice 2: [Lepidolite]
Lepidolite, tall and imposing in stature and energy signature, stepped forward after Uvarovite. He grinned at the group and seemed to be positively brimming with enthusiasm.

"General King Lepidolite," he said as he greeted the group, as if he really needed any introduction. "I'm headed to the marketplace." He kept it brief, if only because he was very clearly ready to go and see exactly what they could dig up over there.

(If you choose to follow Lepidolite, please copy, edit and paste the following code in this thread within 24 hours. You are free to add an rp response to it or post only the code if you wish.)

[Prompt #1 Answer:] (INSERT CHARACTER NAME) will be following Lepidolite to the marketplace.

+5 points

Choice 3: [Alkaid and Haumea]
As the leaders of the two other groups stepped off to the side to await those that would follow them, Alkaid raised one pale, cracked hand above her head to call attention back to herself.

“Haumea and I will be taking the third and final group to explore the residential district.”

(If you choose to follow Alkaid and Haumea, please copy, edit and paste the following code in this thread within 24 hours. You are free to add an rp response to it or post only the code if you wish.)

[Prompt #1 Answer:] (INSERT CHARACTER NAME) will be following Alkaidand Haumea to the cottages.

Corrupted Super Gadolinite will be following Alkaid and Haumea to the cottages.

+5 points

He had been contemplating the possibilities of tossing a few of the more irritating people in the group around him to the youma when he heard a familiar voice speak from behind. Turning around, brows raising lazily, he caught sight of - damn, what was his name again? Spearite? Angelite? Sera - that was it, Seraphinite - ambling towards him, followed closely by a dark haired senshi at his heels.

"Did I make it into big scary place vithout being escorted by big strong man, you mean?" Gadolinite said, flashing a grin at him. "Yes, I made it here safely. I did not get eaten, vich I know is shame for some, but for me is a good thing. I prefer to stay alive."

He gave the senshi - Rigel - and the other redheaded one - Carnelian? Actually, he wasn't sure which was which - a glanced, Gadolinite's gaze flickering up and down each one in turn, lips curved up into a perpetual smile of lackadaisical amusement. "More of Jet's?" he said, and grinned. "I am glad to meet more of Jet's. He is good general, though I am not sure where he is. I heard he vas coming, or maybe I vas mistaken."

Or maybe Jet had better things to do, which was probably the case. Gadolinite wasn't even sure there was a purpose in being here as it was, because all that seemed to be happening right now was a lot of fawning over the present General-King.

"Ah," he said, as more appeared just on the outskirts of the crowds milling about. Gadolinite didn't recognize a single face - probably he should have, but it didn't matter. He was content to merely follow whoever he thought looked most interesting, and right now it was the ones with the cracks that spread all through their bodies. Corrupted senshi were his forte, after all.

Sort of.

"I am going vith them," he told Seraphinite, Rigel, and Carnelian. "Vould any of you care to join me?"

[Prompt #1 Answer:] Lt. Geocronite will be following Uvarovite to the the tavern.

+5 points

Geocronite had been keeping to himself, unable to really take the situation in. It was the farthest that he had been in the Negaverse, closest to the Rift, and all of it just creeped him out. If he could teleport, he would have already. Since he couldn't, he was stuck here, against his will with no way to get out. When he heard one of the... Generals mention a "Tavern", he decided to go with them. After all, if it was an old Tavern, that might mean there was something alcoholic that he could down and possibly get a bit drunk. Drunk enough to feel better about being here or just blacking out.

Geocronite walked over to the General, giving him a salute. "I'll go along with you, General." He had no idea if this was the proper protocol, he had never been in any sort of army, so hopefully the General wouldn't take it as some sort of slight.

Lieutenant Alabaster will be following Lepidolite to the marketplace.

+5 points

Alabaster had spent the last five minutes internally debating which of the fawning , simpering ones would be the first to go - and then the five minutes prior to that resolutely telling himself that it would not, in fact, be him that would be left to be a youma's chew toy.

He had just decided on a possible new way of putting his cane to good use - like cracking it over Sinoite's head, for example, shame the man wasn't here for him to do exactly that - when he was interrupted in the midst of his musings by -

...he had no idea. Whatever she was, it was not human, considering she had three eyes and bits of electricity floating around her head. But she was still wearing a uniform, even if it was a bit of a weird one, and she was both tall and strangely physically appealing.

Which made no sense, since, well. Three eyes.

Alabaster gave her a long, sweeping look, blue eyes narrowing a little, and then he said, "Isn't it just?" in an airy, casual sort of voice, lifting his cane up to twirl it absently in his hands. Ahead of him, there were people milling about, and several unfamiliar faces appeared on the horizon.

Or what might have been the horizon. Whatever it was. The makeshift horizon. Alabaster gave them a suspicious look, because nothing good could ever come out of something like this he just knew it.

His gaze flickered to the woman - thing - whatever she was - beside him, smile a flash of white in the darkness.

"Looks like we're being dragged hither and thither," Alabaster intoned dramatically. "Shall we?"

It was dripping with sarcasm.

Captain Annabergite will be following Uvarovite to the the tavern.

+5 points

It took Annabergite a minute to recognize that someone was talking to him - and even longer to actually register the words that he was saying into some semblance of a cohesive sentence. His mind seemed to want to jumble the syllables all together in some sort of chaos, Annabergite giving his head a little shake as though to clear it.

He scowled.

"Are you on drugs?" he asked bluntly, staring at him. "You keep bombarding me with questions like that, and I really will show you what I'm doing with these daggers."

He wasn't about to point out that asking a thousand questions at a time was exactly what he - the old Annabergite, at least - was used to doing. And still did, as a matter of fact, but these days most of Annabergite's shapeless anxiety and uneasiness was shoved into a box labeled Do Not Touch.

They were all gathering into groups now, shuffling around. Annabergite glanced at the lieutenant again, and then hastily made his way towards the first group he saw in an attempt at getting rid of the other.

G.K. Zinkenite

He glanced to Benitoite and made a sound of agreement. “I think, if it ever seemed easy in such a task then I would wonder what I wasn’t seeing.” He murmured.

“Not at all.” He added to Valeria, “If there is anyone else you don’t know, then I’ll do my best to answer. Though to be fair I may not know either.”

He glanced between Leucite and Valeria and arched an eyebrow, clearly curious about the tone, again, a history was clear but he didn’t know it. It irked like an itch that he couldn’t scratch.

He gave Stibnite a wry look. “It… is going swimmingly as you can see.” He said and shook his head gently from side to side. “Still, it’s interesting to see how people react all the same. It will be more interesting once we are underway.”

“A pleasure to meet you Hatsya.” He said with an inclination of his head, polite but not differing to her. “I look forward to working with you.” He seemed to hold no preconceived notion of her at least, no ire or suspicion in his voice. Or at least no more than he had shown to anyone else he was freshly meeting.

Something else rather, caught his attention though he looked towards one of the other corrupted senshi, and the flush in his cheeks was visible even over the high edge of his mask as he glanced quickly upward to draw his attention away from generous ‘side boob’. Meridiana’s uniform, though he didn’t know her by name just yet. Was rather the antithesis of his own. His being multiple layers of fabric concealing the better part of him, and hers, well…
Well it left very little to wonder at.

He turned his gaze, perhaps gratefully to a new question, that seemed at least vaguely directed his way when Anphitrite spoke.

“Zinkenite.” He said, omitting his title… again, not that it was either likely to last long or honestly conceal his rank in any way. “I don’t believe I’ve had the pleasure either. I’m, recently returned from, pressing affairs.”
There was something curious in the way he said those last words, as though they were, ironic in some way but he didn’t seem to be willing to elaborate on what was possibly an inside joke.

--

His chin lifted to see the others as they arrived, his gaze settling for a long moment on Lepidolite, then glancing curiously to Uvarovite, and then, another long almost sad gaze to Alkaid, very directly to her, she was clearly familiar but he said nothing.

He turned first towards Benitoite and arched his eyebrows, glancing to one side for a moment and then back, before tipping his head gently, as though waiting for an answer to an unspoken question before he too a quiet step of his own towards…

Eternal Adamantine

[Prompt #1 Answer:] Admantine will be following Alkaid and Haumea to the cottages.

+5 points

Adamantine tilted her head at Amphi's laugh and the ease that the senshi took her advice. It was surprising to think that the seashell senshi would think she was anything but approachable, unlike herself. Silk shifted shoulders and her hand moved to accomadate the kitten.

"Thank you Silk." She was not particularly chilly, but she knew Silk was taking great care for her. As Amphi moved away to join the General King, the Eternals features fell on the 'tron reject' and made a sound at Silk.

"Silk." The voice was soft and she booped him on the nose. "Pardon for me for not knowing you fully, Captain Nissonite." She made a small dip of her body, though the man was already towering over her.

"Or that I am not as aware of our General's movements. It's nice to have someone else of the wolfpack with me." She breathed out, but her face did not change in any sort of way to mimic the excitement she felt.

Her heart did race when she hard Alkaid's voice, turning her head and looking at the woman with the other corrupt at her side. She did not know them but if Alkaid was here, the Adamantine was going the path that the general ascendent did.

"Amphitrite." Adamantine moved towards the seashell senshi, gesturing to Niss to follow with Reven if the kitten so chose. "She's here, we should follow her." The stardust eternal trusted no one more then Laby, then Alkaid herself.

General Benitoite

"You and me both. I wouldn't trust anything to be simple and easy down here." When did things involving this war ever come easy? Much less when they took place down here? This was deep into the rift and he didn't trust it one bit.

As those who were the cause for this gather appeared, finally, he raised a brow as he listened to them. Dropping his voice to a low whisper, in the hopes only Zinkenite would hear him. "This reminds me of certain trips deep into the rift for missing youma pieces." Something he doubted most here would know of, as many were too new for that, but sure Zinkenite would remember. Gathering the pieces to a mighty greater youma from the youma who kept guard over them, youma similar the ones being mentioned now. This seemed a lot similar to him. "At least no drinking will be involved this time around." He added with a small quirking o his lips before he took note of the others signaling.

A small nod of his head before he headed towards the bulky General King whom he'd once worked for, when he'd taught at Romano's. Along the way he made a pass by Hatsya and took hold of her again, gently this time. "Come. I don't want you going off on your own. It is, as they said, dangerous down here."

"Welcome!" He piped up to Adamantine at the thanks, and his eyes narrowed at the Captain as he stepped closer, and he was nothing short of critical of watching (sorry, judging) his interaction with his Stardust senshi. "Uh huh..." He replied in response to Reven's comments, except the kitten started a bit as he was suddenly booped on the nose. "Heeey." He was almost a whine, as a paw reached up to wipe his nose, which he then used to boop Adamantine's cheek in retaliation.

When Adamantine turned her head, Silk immediately followed to see what she was looking at. "Oh---isn't that your senshi mentor thing?" He asked Adamantine, peering around her head as she moved to try and get a better look at the Ascendant. With things starting to happen though, the kitten was feeling the excitement start to build up, subconsciously feeding from the Stardust Senshi as well.

Corrupted Valeria

Freezing at the words from Leucite she dropped her head and nodded slowly. "Y-yes..." Shifting, as slowly as she could, the corrupted senshi hoped to not be noticed. She was trying, though she knew it wouldn't work, to vanish behind the General King who was her reason for being here. He expected her here...he invited her here. She was here but she wasn't as comfortable as she wished she was...as she had been moments before.

"I-I'll ask if there are others I don't know.." She whispered, keeping his voice as low as possible for her.

It was due to her head being down, still not wanting to lift her gaze, that had her missing Zinkenite's interactions with the corrupted senshi of succubus as well as his silent conversation with one of the Generals in the group.

She noticed however when he started to move and she went to follow him. He was the one she trusted at this moment, aside from the corrupted senshi of succubus, she was safe with the General King - right? "You don't mind if I follow...do you? I don't know the leaders..."

General Jet

“I’m right here,” Jet bit out in response to Gadolinite’s comment. Normally he would be more than willing to help out with any kind of mission, but with such a short notice and the knowledge that his recruits - all negaverse senshi - were being forced into the Rift was, well, enough to put him on edge.

He took just a moment to glance from Gadolinite to Rigel and then to Carnelian, before turning to let only Seraphinite see the clear distress on his face.

“There are more than enough officers to handle a mission like this,” he hissed out his rage to his childhood friend. “Senshi in the Rift… I don’t doubt they can handle themselves, but it feels like they’re just being used as bait.”

Jet forced himself to take a breath and release his hands from the fists they were forming. He hated senshi. Hated them for what they did and what they continue to do, but those who had joined the Negaverse, and those he’d recruited himself were different. And he was determined to make sure they weren’t sent to an early grave.

The choice was obvious for him. The two in charge of the mission seemed more than capable to handle themselves, but were still senshi.

“I’m going with them as well. Don’t make me remind you to keep your guard up,” he growled and called his weapon to his hand from subspace.
