"My family used to take me on their dragons, which was pretty cool. However, flying with Monath is like..I don't know how to describe it. I cannot wait for you to be able to experience it yourself. I know you will not regret it, it makes everything we go through a little more worth it,"she smiled.

“When I Impress, you’ll go flying with me?” He asked. “You won’t become a workaholic like your sister, will you?” He was mostly teasing, but he’d heard T’ye mutter about that once or twice. “You can show me all the Pern I haven’t seen.”

"Didn't you know, you will only see me during the summer. Of course I will go flying with you when you get a dragon. Soon as you guys can do joint flying, I would love to show you how wonderful it is,"she beamed. She knew T'ye complained sometimes about Ashlyn being busy, but he really should try to ask her when he wanted to spend time with her.

What?! Only during the summer?! Oh. She was teasing. Rhiyn took a breath and smiled. “You will?” He asked. He imagined them flying together, he on a brown, she on her green. They could fly into the horizon, they could go anywhere once he learned to go between. He couldn’t wait. “I’m looking forward to that most of all.”

She saw the look in his eyes, wondering if he had taken her seriously about only during summer. She was about to explain, when she saw him smile, knowing he had figured it out. Nodding her head, she wanted him to know she really did want to go flying with him.
"Of course, I know you will find it amazing. It definitely gives you a whole new view,"she spoke.

A whole new view? Rhiyn tried to imagine the sensation of flying. He remembered loving it, it was the best feeling in the world. He hadn’t gone up with R’te in a long time.
“I hope I Impress soon. It takes months to fly.”

"I don't know when it will be, but I trust that it will come when we least expect it. And yeah, it does take time before the dragon is ready to carry you, but it is worth the wait. All the bonding and learning we do up to that point makes it where flying takes it to the next level,"Demanthra explained.

Least expect it? He hoped the dragon came before he was about to age out. He had turns to wait. “I hate waiting,” he muttered. He hated it. But he supposed the thought of someone he could do deeply connect with was worth it.
“Have you spotted your favorite star yet?”

"I know you do, but it will be totally worth it when it happens. I always dreamed what kind of dragon I would get, but never imagined the one that was perfect for me. When I was on the sands and there were two dragons left, I figured they both belonged to someone else. As for star, yes, yes I have,"she smiled.

Rhiyn tried to imagine what sort of dragon he’d impress. He closed his eyes and thought. He couldn’t. There were too many options, and he probably wasn’t thinking of the right one. “Which Star?” He asked.

"See if you can try and guess my favorite star. And you look deep in thought, were you thinking about your dragon? You know, the sky is the limit, almost for what kind of dragon you may get. The only choice we know you wouldn't have is a gold,"she smiled.

Any color but gold. Rhiyn smiled then, still considering it. His brother had a bronze. Maybe he could manage that. He wasn’t sure, though. “I’ll just wait and see,” he said. But her favorite star... He looked up at the sky. “That bright one there?” He guessed.

They would be right for him? He supposed she was right. Was there ever a dragon who didn’t mesh with their rider, he wondered. He gave her a smile. “No,” he said, “I already love someone with every beat of my heart.”
A brighter star? He looked up again. “I don’t see a brighter one.”
