TRICK OR TREAT Task # 6 Entry Growing up my biggest fear was the lions that roared in the vent above my bed - yes, the lions. I didn't get over that until I was at least 10. But now, heights. Yikes.
TRICK OR TREAT Task # 8 Entry Black Skeleton Boy: Growing up in the shadows of the darkness, he's a bit spooked by well....his own. He knows he doesn't look as creepy as those who bump in the night, but he can't help but feel as though his appearance should be brighter. Why was he cursed to look like the very thing he fears? Because of this fear, he has difficulty opening up, and stays away from smaller creatures, because if there is one thing he hates worse than his own appearance, it's others equally hating it.

Username: Kaya Wolf Moon Soquili's Name: Thackery Entry: WC: 488 When they joked about losing his head, he didn’t imagine there being anything to it. What’s there to lose? Not like he had a lot going on up there. That’s what some people said anyway. In truth, he had quite a bit going on up there. He could be intelligent. Although, his actions that night lent more to him being an idiot than a savant. Why did he take that dare? Christiana and Merlin had been teasing him, of course. Their jeers rang in his ears even now. It’d been a simple dare. Spend ten minutes in the haunted forest located nearby. Success meant they’d do his chores around the herdlands for the next year. Loss meant to do theirs. A task seemingly quick and easy. Except…well…Thackery didn’t like forests. He didn’t like the claustrophobia they gave him, nor the sensation of dread that chilled him each time he dared peer into one. Yes, a mere ten minutes in a forest should be a cinch. Yet, to him, it was his worst nightmare. Ironically, Thackery could care less about its reputation as haunted. He believed in spirits as much as he believed the sky was green…not at all.
Thus, he found himself in a slight conundrum. The haunted aspect failed to bother him while the forest itself creeped him out. What was he to do? He couldn’t possibly tell his siblings. Which left him with only one available option. Into the forest he went. Deep into the heart of it, well away from the safety of family. Thackery imagined whispers on the wind. He imagined glowing eyes within the darkest shadows. Each time chiding himself. What he never imagined was the danger that lurked there. The notion that the tales told to them might bare some truth. So, when he came to the wigwam in the middle of the forest he thought nothing of it. The three spinster sisters residing there seemed pleasant enough. They encircled him, cooing and lulling him into complacency. Nothing in him screamed peril. He happily followed them into their ragged shelter. Cheerfully laughed at the joke to be careful not to lose his head on the entranceway. Graciously imbibed the savory liquid offered. Five minutes became ten became twenty. Minutes blurred into hours until he eventually lost all sense of self.
Sharp pains flared around Thackery’s neck and limbs when he’d come to. His eyes had fluttered open to horrifying sights. His mouth agape. He’d stumbled away. The spinsters were transformed into ghastly beings. Gnarled fangs peeked over reddened lips as their mouths were drawn in predatory grins. A wicked tale of trickery and carnage oozed from their tongues. They’d performed dark arts on him! Thackery whimpered as he staggered to his feet before racing away. He wasn’t fully alive. How could he be after what they’d done? But he wasn’t truly dead either. Certainly not a zombie though. Neither alive nor dead…purely…cursed…
