Character Name: Thranduil WoodTeam: Blue Prompt #: 5 POINT TALLY: 7+11+9+8 The clicking of keys drowned out most other outside noise. Even with the headphones, Thran was hearing that faint clicking echo as he typed. His little avatar moved across the screen, successfully taking out various enemies and towers. His HP remained decent, though, the same couldn't be said for each teammate. Perhaps next time, they might wait before charging in and drawing all the aggro while the melee fighter caught up.

Character Name: Drew BonesTeam: Blue Prompt #: Prompt #1 POINT TALLY: 0 Drew was a closet video game nerd. Truthfully, he like it for the art. He liked studying the the art and improving his own. And yes, he liked playing it. He showed up in costume (to hide his identity) (mask and all) and proceded to the gaming room. Immediately, after being harassed by security for his mask, he signed himself up and went to a private booth. He'd been assigned to BlueTeam and found the basic controls on the wall that kept him separated from the other players. There was a headset next to the keyboard and mouse that should keep him connected to his 'team', whoever they were? He put it on. He loaded the game. The screen came up. He had three options: Murmillo, who had a large shield and was obviously defense; Rudiarius, who had light and practical gear and was obiviously melee; and Velites, whose spear meant he was obviously ranged. Drew thought for a minute and then punched in Velites. The game loaded.

Character Name: Drew BonesTeam: Blue Prompt #: Prompt #2 POINT TALLY: 0+3=3 Drew found himself in an area with three paths leading away. There were 3 other players with him, a Rudiarius, a Murmillo, and another Velites. They had a chat function, but after a few pings, chat died down. The screen was filled with rocks and trees and other forest items. After a short talk the team spilt up. Rudiarius went down the center path alone. Murmillo went down the right path alone. Drew and the other Velites decided to go down the bottom path together. Cripes! They were nearly ambushed, but they kept the enemies far off together.

Character Name: Drew BonesTeam: Blue Prompt #: Prompt #3 POINT TALLY: 3+1=4 Drew knew they needed to find and destroy as many enemies and their towers (as well as their base at the end of the game as they could to raise their score, so he watched the grassline carefully. They did not find a tower. They found a handful of enemies that was destroyed easily between the two of their spears. It was too easy. Drew was disappointed, but he kept watching the grassling hoping for more and more, before the base.

Character Name: Drew BonesTeam: Blue Prompt #: Prompt #4 POINT TALLY: 4-3=1 Drew and his partner were cornered by enemy minions. They took the enemies out. But reinforcements arrived for the minions. Drew and the other Velites took them out as well. But wave after wave of reinforcements arrived. Drew swore. They weren't perfect, they were only human after. At this thought, Drew smiled a little. Nearly anyways. But nothing that could help to keep him from going down now. The Double Velites team couldn't hold off the enemies forever. His partner went down. Then he did too. The screen faded out. Game over. Drew composed himself and left the booth. No prizes today for him.

He had come to win, but had gotten harrassed by secruity twice, and only got one point on the game and gotten eliminated just past halfway. Her latest text needed no response, in Alrik's opinion, as he planned on making his way through the crowd in search of the bathroom. In fact, he'd never needed to find out where the bathrooms were so badly in his life until that very moment.
Once located (thanks to an especially peppy staff member he'd managed to nearly knock over in his quest to find said bathrooms), he took to leaning against the side of the brick, appearing as casual as he possibly could. Adding on a sulk for effect (because he was quickly getting over his gargantuan defeat at the thought of being consoled by his girlfriend), arms crossed his chest and he waited, semi-patiently, for the green haired girl to appear.

She automatically knew it was her name since everyone had issues with it, given the uncommon nature of her name. "This is me! It's pronounced Ack-collie-ah, in case you have to say it again at all." She said with a smile.

His glasses were pushed up again by nervous hands and he clicked a few things on the screen before a form was displayed. Then, he shoved it back at the girl. "Please fill this out. Name, email, contact information so that we can reach you later. Formal prizes will be handed out at the end of the beta testing."
He stood a little straighter, like he thought himself superior.
"The game hasn't concluded completely yet, but if we need you to return, we'll send something via email or if you provide a phone number, text."

Character Name: Leon NohrenbergTeam: BLUE Prompt #: 3C POINT TALLY: 10 + 6 + 5 = 21 Leon and his partner continued down the path, and as they did, he devoted some brainpower to going over the goals of the game. Yes, he was supposed to take the enemy base (up in their base, killing their doods), but it was also important to inflict lots and lots of carnage and kill as many enemies as possible. It occurred to him that maybe that was why there were no mages; AoE attacks would make it too easy to take out huge clumps of enemies. Problem solved, he guessed. Still a bummer though. Anyway, he and his partner ended up finding a whole tower full of baddies. "Time to pwn," he typed into the chat, and he continued his finely-tuned baddie smashing skills. The key laid mostly in hanging to the back and taking very precise shots at anything that got past his partner. Timing was important, or the enemy would be able to take very precise shots at him instead. Overall, things were going great! He hoped he could keep the winning streak up. [WC: 176]

"'Focuses' is a strong word," Suri frowned, her hands folded in front of her as she watched the participants mill about the arena. "It wouldn't have anything to do with the game, except I needed to link my research to something more mundane." She didn't like talking about her work under veiled pretense. Her research was Negaverse-based and for the Negaverse, and her presentation was strictly to search for like minded individuals who could assist her as the project expanded. But this was a media convention, and everything was centered around that theme, so in keeping to the panel guidelines she'd been given no choice but to give her research a game spin.
It felt dirty. It roughed up her methods. But Chase wouldn't appreciate that, would he?
She glanced over, feeling the argument rise up in her throat, but as they stood now Chase was neither her equal nor her friend. He was her boss, giving her an instruction pantomimed as guidance. Veils within veils. Her lips thin, she bit down the impulse to bite back, smoothing out her skirt before she approached the sign-up roster and took her place in front of a screen.
It was a stupid little game. It couldn't be that hard.
When the first menu came up, she clicked the one with the shield, because that was the character her cursor had already been pointing to. She didn't want to waste time reading about stats--she just wanted this over with so she could prepare for her lecture.

Character Name: Leon NohrenbergTeam: BLUE Prompt #: 4C POINT TALLY: 21 + 6 + 4 = 31 Oh heck. He'd spoken too soon. Suddenly, enemies had jumped out of somewhere and had him and his partner cornered. Leon sucked in a breath and tried to remain calm as he attempted crowd control. This had the potential to get very messy very quickly. Except, somehow, it didn't. Leon's hand-eye coordination and reaction time were on point, and bam bam bam, he and his partner swept the crowd away. Perfectly sparkling clean. "We're the cleaners," he typed in, and he got a "lol" in response. At least his partner was paying attention to his quips, at least a little. He really was cleaning up here, and he hoped he could keep it up. [WC: 114]

Character Name: Leon NohrenbergTeam: BLUE Prompt #: 5C POINT TALLY: 31 + 5 + 3 = 39 Main screen turn on, and in AD 2018, war was beginning. But seriously, even with how well Leon had been handling the previous legs of the battle, he couldn't help but notice that the health items and power bars were slowly depleting. He needed to continue his trend of being ridiculously precise and take it easy on the mana skills, or he and his partner would get obliterated before they could reach the base. Holy flippin' spaghetti. Leon was doing AMAZING. He really wanted to give himself a pat on the back, because for not having played a non-turn-based game in a while, he was in rare form today. Sure, he wasn't at the final leg yet, and that was what it was all riding on, but he was feeling pretty confident. He was doing good in the mana department, his partner was doing fine as well, and the end was in sight. It was time for the final brawl! [WC: 160]
