Once the soldiers closest to Valencia's location moved away, she knew she had a small window to get down several floors. Quickly she began making her way down the stairs. Some of the steps creaked which was nerve wracking.

"I have a feeling...!"

All of a sudden a couple steps gave in under Valencia's weight. "Sh*t!" She fell to the next rail of stairs and landed on her back, knocking the air out of her. That rail broke from her impact and before she knew it we was falling. She passed where she needed to go then a pair of black wings shot from her back which dug its golden claws into the steel walls of the stairway. Stopping her descent. The stairway fell through a total devastated hole in the base and crashed into the ocean below. Layla could hear the commotion through her earpiece. Valencia looked down and she couldnt even see the water below. Then the black wings began to climb up the walls and swung Valencia into the door she needed to go through. Bracing herself as her body collided into the door, launching it open and she rolled inside. Valencia caught her breath and quickly checked her earpiece which luckily was still in her ear.

"I'm okay. Shukurai caught me." Valencia hoped that went unnoticed as she looked around the pipe-lined corridor. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw ten shades heading her direction. Their screeching could be heard in the distance. "Vae, run!" Shukurai yelled in her head and she bolted into a sprint down the dark corridor. After a turn left and a right, Valencia ran through the door to the main power room. The room was large and contained many large machines and generators which to her surprise, was still in tact. Valencia could hear the soldiers getting closer and Shukurai showed her a place to hide. She ran into a maintenance closet and locked the door behind her. Valencia braced her back against the wall just left of the door. So if it swung open she would be blocked from sight and the door will hit the supply shelf in front of her. The orb of light that she used to get through the darkness disappeared just as the soldiers broke into the power room. Valencia's breathing shallowed and she remained as quiet as possible. Looking over her shoulder she could see the shades, spreading out and searching for her. One came up to the closet door and she could hear it growling on the other side. Valencia froze when the soldier screamed then kicked the door open. It searched the closet and she could tell it was just as blind in this darkness as she was. It growled lightly as it searched and began to come real close to Valencia, making the hair on her body stand up. Like she predicted, the door kept the soldier from walking into her and stumbled outside the closet. It continued to search the room with the rest and Valencia took a deep breath. Once she calmed she whispered into her earpiece.

"Layla, I've made it to the main power room. Problem is theres ten of them in here... I would recommend you save that last grenade for something more urgent. I can try picking them off, but..." Shukurai spoke to her in her head. "Vae, you'll have to incinerate them to kill them completely.
That will bring every soldier on the base down on you." Valencia sighed with worry and continued to watch the shades in the next room as she spoke to Layla quietly. "I can't engage them without bringing them all to me but we gotta get them out... Got a plan, Layla?"

Valencia thought for a moment when Shukurai showed her the window Layla spoke of. "Your bullets would put them down for a few seconds.. The one you shot when you got here got back up. Since they're regenerative we'd have to burn them before they get up..." Shukurai had an idea and began to explain. "I can do that. I can bait them to the window as an apparition. Keeping to the shadows, they'll loose sight of me easily. Then once Layla shoots them and they're immobile for a few seconds, I can drag them to the shadows and incinerate them there. I'll use my dark fire so it doesn't emit light. I'll apologize now for the smell, though." Valencia chuckled and agreed with his plan. "Shukurai is going to lure the soldiers to the window. Hit them with a headshot and he'll take of the rest when they're down. I'll hold my position in the closet. With Shukurai away from me, I wont be able to see them." With that said, Valencia sat down quietly and meditated while she waited. Shukurai left her body and headed into the power room. He looked like a black shadow with red eyes that streaked in the darkness. Shukurai knocked a metal file cabinet over onto its side making a loud crash then disappeared. The soldiers shrieked and they gathered to the cabinet and began searching around it. Shukurai's red eyes appeared in the shadows to two of the soldiers, who ran at him towards the window before losing sight of them. Layla could see two soldiers at the window now and Shukurai waited for her to make her shots.

Valencia had a calm glare at Karuma as he laughed like the Psycho he is. She knew that one kick wouldn't keep him down but thankful she got here before any harm could be brought to Layla. "I dont know, Layla. I can't fly you out of here. It's too much weight for my wings... Let me see your gun." Valencia took the semiautomatic from Layla and pulled a blue dragon scale from her satchel. Valencia placed the scale against the gun and spoke strongly. "I envoke my right as Goddess of Light and Stars to call upon the power of Lunastra, Dragon Empress of Flame. Enchant this weapon with your Will and may every shot unleash your graceful inferno." The gun began to glow and spark like fire but the flames and sparks along the barrel were blue and indigo. The scale had disappeared and Valencia handed the gun back to Layla. The flames of the gun, to her surprise, did not burn her once she took it. "This enchantment will make every shot an explosive incendiary bullet. Should burn his children to a crisp on impact."

When Karuma said Valencia was rude, she scoffed. "Like you have any sense in manners, Karuma, don't kid yourself..." Valencia then saw the soldiers climb over and they were surrounded. Valencia got into a defensive stance and her staff began to glow white and crackled with heat. She looked back to Karuma as his chest fixed itself. Valencia remained undisturbed by the sound of his bones crunching and correcting themselves. When he said she helped a murderer rise to power, Valencia looked confused for a moment, then assumed this was some of his lunacy. "You'd be surprised that a lot of murderers find themselves in places of power by force these days. I certainly can't recall aiding one, myself but your master holds a rather impressive kill count, too. No doubt he had to bathe Mount Olympus in blood to claim it. I don't see you trying to change that so, tough sh*t..." Shukurai was quiet but his concern in Valencia's choice in words grew. Under pressure she can be very defensive and had a tendency to instigate her opponents. Valencia listened to Karuma go on and she shook her head. "My side is wherever I am needed and I did leave. For a long time and I came back to see the Realms went to Hell. Most of the old Gods are dead, the people of the Realms are suffering, never in my worst nightmares would imagine it turning out like this!" Valencia sighed and stepped towards Karuma. "Yeah, we took a big risk coming here to find out what became of Trevor. Alive or not..." Valencia looked to Layla over her shoulder and nodded her head. Reminding Layla that Valencia agreed to see this through to the end. Even if it's in vain. "I'll ask once, though I have my doubts, will you let us leave?" Valencia stood her ground for Karuma's answer and lowkey she prepared for the worst.
