Thank you, Aurinkoth, Cynosuth said sweetly, before her attention was diverted by a new arrival. Oh! Aresoth wished to spend time with them? Aresoth, how kind of you to come. Please, do sit with us, so that we might all meet the little ones.

To Aurinkoth, she said: This is for little Sahrawith, who is my special friend. She showed him the little diadem that would suit little Sawi so well! Oh, her sweet Sawi. She was so excited to see her friend again, and it showed in the way she glowed. Or... maybe that was just a trick of the light.

However, before she had a chance to ponder too long on where her dear little friend was, that very dragonet arrived. Oh! Sawi, I am so pleased to see you again! she chirped, peering down at the little Green who had rather tumbled. She leaned her graceful head down to gently correct her, and assist her to her feet. How nice to see you, she told her, clutching the gift gently within her claws.

Orri nodded and then grew wide-eyed at the prospect of being led to one of the new dragonrider pairs. He didn't have the mind to even verbally agree before he was at C'ryn's heels, head bobbing, an eager smile on his lips. He was grateful the bronzerider introduced their names first, as it gave him a moment to admire the two newest weyrlings in awe. Was he a bronze? Wait, no, his pale hide wasn't shining. And he was HUGE. So cool.

"Hi!" he greeted, bouncing on his toes a little, his hands behind his back in formal posture. Aryath had come to be admired, and admired he would be by this candidate. "I'm Orri. Congrats, you two."

S'del knew he was running just a bit late. Honestly, the man had found himself lost in his wardrobe, trying to figure out what exactly he would wear. Life had grown extra-complicated as of late -- and where he wouldn't normally think twice about what he showed up in -- there was someone there who might well see him. A certain dark haired, green rider....

Kindeth didn't entirely understand why his rider kept dressing and undressing and dressing again. To him, His looked nice no matter what, but he wasn't going to argue. He was patient, and had no where to be. Instead, he simply sent His much encouragement.

Honestly, the issue of suddenly worrying about what he was wearing was compounded by the fact that he had A LOT to wear. High Reaches expected their bronze riders to wear a certain type of clothing and gear; looking less than one's best had been one of the lessons drilled in him. He'd never had so many marks, or so much clothing. In fact, the Headwoman herself had placed orders on his behalf after graduation when it became clear he didn't seem to know how to properly dress himself for occasions.

He hadn't minded it at the time -- more meant security -- but now when he had to pick something he wasn't sure what. This had all seemed less important before he'd met A'ye, but now.... Faranth, help him, he was his friend. Only his friends. And maybe they'd.... done.....stuff.... but all of it had always been due to dragonlust! How often did the Weyr say it was important to remember flights didn't mean anything? That it was just a flight. That no one really put stock into them.

So... He. He tried to abide by that known fact. They were friends. Things had happened. No big deal. Just friends. Only friends. Friends. But finding out what to wear for a friend was an awful big deal, and by the time he finally picked out the right outfit, the party seemed to be well on its way. He was hungry and thirsty, but nervous...

Stepping through the crowds, he tried to keep an eye out for his friend. Maybe he wouldn't be there. Maybe he wouldn't see him. Maybe... Maybe he was being ridiculous. And yet, sure enough, to no real surprise, he saw a familiar dark-haired face, and immediately headed over. But what was he supposed to say? Looking at him, he was immediately struck by just how attractive he was, and . . . . all of a sudden his stomach was a flutter, and he knew they were just friends, but he... well. Mph. What would friends say?

"A'ye!" . . . oh Faranth now what. Uh. Something to do with klah. Yes. "Is the klah good today?"

Well. It. It sounded like a cooler thing to say in his head than in person. A'ye would be the one to know, right? And talking about hobbies and likes was a way to better get to know new friends, right?

The arrival of their bronze brother caused Aurinkoth to perk up, offering a kreel of greeting to him as well as a very large wave of affection. He was nearly bigger than he and Cynosuth combined! Maybe next time he was playing hide and seek he'd see if his brother would let him hide underneath one of his wings. Oh! That sounded rather clever! Yes! Come join us! he echoed the invitation of their green sister eagerly. The more the merrier!

As he was shown the diadem, he pondered if it was one of those things that Menankith had meant had a 'pretty' sparkle to it. Cynosuth liked it enough to give to a friend, so clearly it must have been. She did have good taste. Though hearing another referred to as her special friend did give him some pause, but it left no note in him once he moved past it. Oh! I bet she will like it very much!

His attention was drawn by the tumbling green, considering the motion for a minute before he excitedly cheeped - Oh! You have very good form! Me next!! and, after checking to make sure he wouldn't roll over or into anybody, threw himself to the ground in an attempt at a similar tumble. Sitting up, he cheeped again. Oh. yours was much better!

Large groups of people were not and never would be his forte.... but, in his own, awkward way, G'ran was learning how to navigate through them. While he had already been a tall man to begin with, being properly nourished at the Weyr had encouraged yet another growth spurt out of him. Now, at nearly seven feet tall, he towered among most of the crowd, instinctively seeking out a much smaller figure...

There she was.

Easily moving through people (and dragonets), the brownrider stepped to Ichta's side, drinking in the sight of her. He'd... never seen her dressed like this before, her sleek hair pulled back while some wavy pieces hung down. The dress of green and golds complimented everything about her, and for a long moment, the big man just.... stared.

She will think something is amiss if you do not speak. Elzebuth offered wisely.

"You look..." He didn't have the word just yet, and he again trailed off into silence as he merely stared. Slowly, cautiously, he reached out to take one of her hands to offer a gentle squeeze...

Meanwhile, Elzebuth was content to stay on the ledges as well, his eye particularly drawn by one, glowing queen. Eveleth. His words were smooth and respectful, and the young adult remained where he was. I did not think it possible for you to be more radiant. I have much more to learn.

If she did not desire his presence, he had no doubt she would make it known.

My Vera, may we please attend the Feast? Serenath inquired, watching from her ledge as the lovely dragonets were brought inside the Weyr. I would so love to see some babies, she remarked, peering down at the goings on. As a Gold and a Wingleader, her selection of weyrs had been quite choice indeed. The small Queen took note of the arrival of her Weyrwoman, warbling a greeting to the Gold who remained on her ledge. Hello, Eveleth. How wonderful to see you, she said decorously, her tones properly respectful.

However, Vera was rather preoccupied with getting Vedra ready to spend the day with her grandparents, juggling dressing herself with a toddler on her hip. "Sweetness, Mommy has to go for the day," she told little Vedra, who stared sadly up at her. She bounced the girl on her hip, reaching down to tickle her until she giggled.

"No," said Vedra, fisting her little hands in Vera's gown. "Don't wanna go." But the toddler was hardly prepared to tackle Mom. Vera, as tired as she was from attempting to be both mother and Junior Weyrwoman. Vedra was much more active now than she had been a Turn ago, and was climbing up on all manner of things. She was more than a handful, and Vera could only be grateful for her parents' assistance.

Little Vedra, be good for Grandma and Grandpa, Serenath cooed to the girl, who giggled and squirmed out of her mother's hold. Vera spent a lot of time running after her, and today was no exception. Half dressed, and very much distracted, the woman finally handed her charge over to the loving arms of her grandparents. "She'll be good," Grandma Veka promised, taking the little one by the hand and leading her away.

At which time Vera sighed, waved goodbye to her baby, and began to finish the process of getting dressed. The gown was beautiful, and she was pleased that it still fit. However, shimmying into it and getting all of the lacing tightened appropriately took more effort than she cared to admit. With her hair piled atop her head, she looked presentable.

Which was rather important, as she was representing the Weyr at this function. At long last, Serenath got her wish, and they went down together to the Feast, Vera smoothing her skirts and glancing over her shoulder for a moment to see if Vedra had made it safely home. But before too long the air was full of noise and smells, a cacophony that had become all too familiar. Dismounting, the Queenrider left her dragon's side with a fond pat, and began to mingle with the crowd. She would ultimately have to make her way to Zheria, but for now she wanted to observe.

Like Susurinth and the other children assembled, Cordrath leaned in to take a look at Dr'cul when Harneth drew attention to his rider, giving the young man an appraising look. He seemed like an upstanding enough young man, and the comment about his trade was interesting enough. You chose well in him, my son, it was something he would have said about any of children's choices, but that didn't make it any less true. You two take care of each other.

As Saith made her way out of his hold to go see her mother and siblings, Cordrath sent another small wave of affection after her. They likely would not be seen all together again for some time after this, and he wanted to stash away every image of them in his hearts that he could. More importantly, he wanted them to hold onto such things as he could.

With Khaimath nuzzled up against him, he could feel her relaxed - no, perhaps sleepy - waved, rumbling contently with her so nearby. Yes. It may be some time before you all see each other again, but perhaps before you leave I will teach you something fun, hmm? Most young ones would have no need to learn how far they could reach their mental voices, but there were several he knew would love to know such a trick.

You owe me nothing, sweet boy, Cordrath assured Aspalath in his nervousness. You have not disappointed me, certainly, some children were always somewhat more independent of their parents. Though he suspected his blue son was more eager to stay next to his bonded somewhere quiet, rather than avoiding him for some other untold reason.

If you are looking to be admired, dear boy, come here where your mother can see you,mm? Cordrath sent Aryath a wave of appreciation and love Of course, he wouldn't be offended if he didn't come greet his mother and siblings, but he did make a point to nudge his beloved gold to look in his direction. Ah, he was so big and handsome - even when so young.

There was another green in the crowd he could make out, and to Zhuchath he offered a small nudge of affection. You are looking well, my child. Would you like to come say hello to the others? They are here with me as well. Perhaps she wouldn't if she was enjoying some time with her lifemate.

Or perhaps she was keeping an eye out for Sahrawith. She hadn't responded to him, so perhaps she was having an adventure of her own! Itdidn't stop him from throwing another wave of love after her.

And of course Baihath seemed to be having a good time. Rather than try to put a stop to his racing, however, Cordrath had a better idea; Inside is not the place for running, Baihath. Why don't you see if there's anybody outside who will play with you? I don't want you to be stepped on.

He leaned against Susurinth as he looked over the children, nudging his mind up against hers to offer an open line of love. For the time being, the children and what they were up to was far more interesting than their own kanoodling that they could do (and often did do) at any given time. Cordrath simply couldn't keep from letting her know that, however.

There were very few people in the Weyr who would have approached her for any reason - Ichta was not a very important person, though she did hold a certain importance. Nor was she the prettiest girl in the room - there was Nadry, some girls from she had guessed were from Western, and of course their Weyrwoman would easily make every head turn her way. So it wasn't hard for Ichta to notice when someone was coming to see her - especially when it was a certain someone she'd been keeping an eye open for.

She had worried that the dress would be too much, and G'ran's silent stare brought the concern back. Nadry wouldn't have let her come down looking silly, at least. Instead, she took the moment to look him over. He'd not had a chance to wear this particular garment since she'd made it, and while she'd checked it over as he seemed to find even more of himself to grow into to make sure it would still fit, she'd not actually seen him wear it. He looked nice.

And she? Apparently G'ran didn't know how she looked, but still she smiled as he took her hand, squeezing it back. "I hope it doesn't seem like too much. I don't think many people will even care how I look," which was a little bit reassuring...but G'ran had an opinion - and it was perhaps the only one she cared about.

Posing R'shahar with permission to get them both there. biggrin

Mx Cherie

They had been up for hours, bantering back and forth, trying on clothes, taking off clothes, trying on different clothes, looking for clothes, trying to accessorize, finding the perfect accessory but now needing to change the original outfit, it was no surprise C'lusi and R'shahar were fashionably late. As some of the most fashionable men in the Weyr (according to C'lusi) it was no surprise they wanted to show up to the feast to turn heads. But there was one head in particular that they were hoping to turn.... a first real date with one known as Nadry.

C'lusi had opted to wear a well-tailored dark blue tunic -- because he did rather enjoy the color, and Macuith did prefer it -- with beautifully woven silver and black trim. He opted for three belts -- simply as a fashion statement, one thicker belt, and two looser straps -- and wore tight khaki pants to match. With knee-high black boots, and some leather bracers, he tied it all together with some silver earrings, a silver brow piercing, and a few silver rings. He kept his hair styled and brushed, pulling it back loosely in a blue cord.

R'shahar, for his part, had made sure to trim his goatee, and styled his hair. He had opted for an outfit C'lusi had insisted on -- a dark green tunic, complete with a black vest. Tight black pants -- when aren't they tight? -- were coupled with black leather boots. Silver and emerald piercings were in place, and along with black leather bracers, he made a very sexy, seven foot tall man.

Viandarth did the honors of taking the two down to the Weyrbowl, though Macuith twirled down to settle nearby with his usual flash and flare. Menankith! Do you have room to spare for Viandarth and I? Or shall we leave you to other company? The blue couldn't hide the fact that he wanted both Viandarth and Menankith near this day. And why shouldn't he? His dear brown clutchsibs, and his gorgeous bronze.... What a trio they might make! And, of course, he did wish to coo over the little babies.

Green-blue eyes looked over the assembled gathering - -he spotted Cynosuth and Aresoth cooing over the littles, as well as Cordrath and Susurinth. Still, he wasn't going to rush over. Instead, he wrapped his tail loosely around Viandarth's, waiting to see if the brown was interested or if he would spend the afternoon with Vi.

Either way, it was a win for Macuith.

C'lusi, for his part, leaned up to give R'shahar a kiss. "You look stunning, babe," he purred, before taking his arm, and leading him forward. This would be their first real outing with Nadry -- their first official date -- and he was a mix of anticipation and nervousness. He wasn't the sort to worry over these things -- but he loved R'shahar, and cared deeply for Nadry. He didn't want to hurt either one of them, but oh, if this could but work.... It really was what he wanted.

It took a little navigating, but he finally caught sight of the familiar figure -- and what a figure it was! Dressed in pale purple dress, one that fit her form nicely, and with her hair styled as it was, she looked gorgeous. "Nadry!" He called out, hoping to catch her attention. Tightening his grip on R'shahar, even as he hurried to bridge the distance between them.

I know you don't enjoy it, but you look the part. Dormith rumbled on his ledge as he watched his chosen dress, frowning at his reflection. It wasn't particularly that W'dre felt self conscious about the way he looked - he'd been pointedly groomed once he'd been chosen by the large bronze on his ledge to be at the barest minimum presentable - but rather that he wasn't feeling particularly sociable. He did well enough with the pleasant smiles and looking interested in circles that knew conversation wasn't his forte (and in fact, that he would have loved to have been mistaken for a mute).

It was that he was going to have to be more on his toes around those not used to his...particular ways. But for a dragon of Dormith's stature to not at least have their rider make an appearance..? Well, perhaps Western wouldn't care. To many it would look as a display of arrogance.

Nonsense. I will help you if you cannot handle it yourself. Dormith reminded as his rider climbed up into his straps, patting his lifemate on one shoulder before he dropped from their ledge. The glide down towards the dining hall was short, but it was long enough for Dormith to spot a familiar shimmering shape that held his attention. W'dre nudged him. Going to say hello, then? Though it didn't take the redhead's comment to inspire anything.

Serenath, a pleasure to see you, he greeted as he settled in the sand some distance away to allow his rider to dismount. Certainly, he wouldn't be needed elsewhere for a time. W'dre patted him on the side when both of his feet were on the ground. Dormith nudged the man with his snout, receiving some strokes along his eye ridges for the effort before the young man was headed off to join the fray.

Maybe nobody would care he was there and he could just...watch...for a while.

Despite the kindness being shown to her by the older dragons, specifically the tumble performed by Aurinkoth and the gentle nosing of Cynosuth, Sahrawith's mood was downright spoiled. The happy purple-blue of her eyes had shifted to an antsy yellow-orange, and she could feel shame washing over her back like a hand running between her wings. All she'd wanted to do was come and see her star and the star's siblings, not cause them to have to show her worry! She'd completely failed and there was no talking her way out of this. To make matters worse a bronze was coming over to join the duo and so she'd successfully embarrassed herself in front of three dragons.

.. . ...uwehh..... Sahrawith released a mental wave of anguish, not from physical pain but more from how much she just wanted to curl into a little ball. All three dragons in front of her would feel the wave just fine, and unfortunately so would Cordrath despite the affection he'd sent her way. Hicc....

R'ose paused in his eating of another finger sandwich and looked in Sahrawith's general direction. A general question of if she was okay was returned with an answer of sulking, and so the rider let her go. She was fine, really, and the teen knew that the dragons she was with would be much more comfort to her in that moment than if he made things worse by showing up.

L’iand smiled at C’ryn and looked critically at the boy tagging along. He seemed genial at least. “It is an experience.” He lifted the tea cup at the boys. Aryath stretched in just the way to allow his wings to be shown off a little better. He, at least, approved of the boy’s admiration.

“You dragon is almost all grown up. Are you looking forward to Aresoth’s first chase?” L’iand couldn’t pass up an opportunity to rib his friend. He didn’t care if it was in front of someone he had just met.

Aryath heard his father call to him. I have admirers here. I will come by soon. He did send Susurinth a wave of affection. He could be a gentleman too.

The drudge was insisting that A'ye share the klah with other people, and that maybe he didn't need to hold down the place like he owned it. A'ye insisted on ignoring the poor person, instead lifting another mug and sipping away at its contents. This was his only chance to get to drink as much free, high-quality klah as he wanted and by the First Egg he was not going to pass it up. Besides it wasn't like there was anyone else around for him to talk to or interact with, and he was about to take another swallow when he heard someone call his name. Mug still raised as he turned, A'ye expected to see no one important and instead was greeted by S'del coming over.

He instantly choked a little on the klah and felt himself die on the inside.

"S....S'del! What a sur-prise." The words came out coughed and choked and A'ye's face turned red. Thankfully it could be played off from coughing rather than anything else, and he cleared his throat when he finally felt like he could breathe again. "Sorry about that, wr...wrong tube I guess." But oh, S'del cut himself a dashing figure. The greenrider felt himself shrink when standing next to him, clearly in awe of just how handsome his...friend was.

Yes they were good friends, two really good friends who happened to enjoy one another's company. Or at least he enjoyed S'del's company and the bronzerider hadn't said anything to indicate he hated A'ye's. Life was complicated and feelings were even worse.

But there was no denying that he was more than pleased to see S'del. "I'm really happy to see you. I'm glad you could be here." A'ye smiled softly and let his hands curl around the mug he clasped. "As for the klah, it's wonderful. It's a blend I can't really afford with my pay so I'm taking advantage of it while I can."

For Faranth's sake, of course she'd find a man who had enough social sense to be humble. Alya bowed even lower once Z'tir was helped to his feet, feeling horrible that, even though he said it wasn't her fault, Baihath had inadvertently tripped him up.... because she had let him run wild. "Thank you, Z'tir." She said softly, still feeling as though she needed to address him as 'my lord' or something similar.

"I won't forget your kindness." She offered all of a sudden, looking up sharply to meet his eye. "Or... Or what you've done for Pern." It would have been easy for him to chide her, to punish her and make an example of what Western was in comparison to High Reaches. Instead? He'd... well. He'd been nice. Understanding.

She hadn't expected that at all.

--

Baihath was moping a little bit at being chided so when the big man suddenly kneeled, rubbing at his eyeridge. He couldn't help but croon at him, happily butting his head against R'nar's hand. I am already in trouble. But thank you. His tongue flicked out to lap against the man's skin. I'm coming, Papa... He got up with such a face, trudging outside in such a defeated manner.

Once he reached his father's forefeet, he dramatically flopped over them, huffing another sigh. Life was so HARD.

Hearing both Cynosuth and Aurinkoth say that he could join them, Aresoth let a bit of tension out of his body. He didn't understand why he had been holding it in, perhaps it was because of how beautiful Cynosuth looked as she sat there and waited, or maybe he was aware of how some of his siblings thought of him. It was no matter now, he had been welcomed into this.

Padding over to join his siblings, Aresoth sat down on the other side of Cynosuth. He was aware of how much larger he was now then his green and blue sibling, especially delicate Cynosuth, though the bronze sat regally beside her. Resisting the urge he had to unfold a wing and wrap it around both her and Aurinkoth. Fighting with the thought of wanting to cuddle her, even adding Aurinkoth into the cuddle, Aresoth was glad when one of the hatchlings came bounding towards them.

Sahrawith was watched with fascination. He had seen the little green around the weyrbowl before, though he had never had the chance to yet talk to her. She was moving towards them so quickly and then, she tumbled.

A flicker of yellow worked its way into the whirling blue of his eyes. He watched as Cynosuth went to nuzzle the little green and help her to her feet, then Aurinkoth had thrown himself down in front of her, trying to make things seem like it had been a game. Though it didn't seem like it had worked and he felt the mental anguish from her, as well as saw the yellow in her eyes.

Aresoth moved over to her, crouching down as he moved. He had seen Aurinkoth move in this way before, crawling with his belly against the ground. He didn't want to scare the little green with his larger form, especially when she was already upset.

Are you alright? His touch was soft as he reached out to her, trying to be gentle and give the feeling of protection to her. He wanted to help her to feel better. You know, even adult dragons have accidents in front of others.

------

Glancing back at Orri once he had reached where L'iand and Aryath were, C'ryn smiled before turning back to look at his friend. He saw the brown already up and stretching, showing off his wings and he couldn't help but feel some amusement about that. Aryath certainly was the best fit for L'iand, and he was glad his friend had found his bonded.

His smile faltered for a moment when he felt the confusion and worry from Aresoth and the young man checked in with the bronze to make sure everything was okay. The wave of reassurance sent to him by Aresoth assured C'ryn, as well as looking through his bronze's eyes and seeing the upset little green he was trying to console.

So, of course, L'iand's question caught him off guard. He knew Aresoth would chase soon, there was no telling when it would happen, but C'ryn had been keeping an eye on the Golds of the weyr, watching for who might be looking shinier then usual. He had forgotten to look at any greens, as he knew his bronze did not care for chasing any green aside from one. Though the young man hadn't been focusing his search on Cynosuth, he expected Aresoth's first flight to be after a Gold.

"Looking forward to being swept up because of dragon lust?" C'ryn shook his head. "I don't know if anyone looks forward to that, at least not having any control of your own actions." He smiled again. "Though I think there will be some time, I don't think any of the Golds look close to rising."

Turning his attention to the brown, C'ryn watched him stretch. "He just seems to get bigger and bigger every day. Though, I'm kind of amazed Aresoth was ever close to that size himself."

"Orri, I know I called out their names and L'iand seems to not wish to introduce himself and that beautiful specimen of a brown." C'ryn winked at Aryath. "This is L'iand of brown Aryath."
