Chie arrived at the temple. She had seldom purpose of arriving here normally. Although it was the home of Kya, her mentor and personal hero, but since she was not a religious woman, a temple to religion served her no purpose typically. With Rinka behind her, she approached the area and sought out her mentor. "Lady Kya. I am sure by now you have heard about Lady San handing me the village. Either by your whispers or by the vortex agents I keep calling in. Regardless, I found another rogue who was allied with Kogarashi. I hope that she has further information we can use to expose what their organization is up to." She said a tad rushed. She was not ready to be in a position where she would give orders to Kya. She hoped that she wasn't too bossy. Chie felt like the wrong words from her mentor could shatter her. Nevertheless, she did her best to keep her emotions concealed within her.

αSeeing Brooy off, Kya resigned herself back to letting Na'chal work on her back, unflinching as she leaned against the back of a chair, watching nothing in particular while letting her mind race it's way though possibility after possibility for what her next few actions would be. She didn't imagine another interruption would be in her future, and yet when she did have to deal with another person before her she was mildly surprised to see Chie, smiling down at the woman before her. Before she could say a world, she was not bowed to. Struck her as odd. She let her disciple speak and her words sent a pang of fear throughout her and all of her siblings. Nachal stopped and Kya, lacking for modesty, rose up as Chie rushed through her speaking. It was clear in her face that she had not actually heard anything about San abdicating her position at the head of the village.
The person she'd all but pledged her life and love to? The one person in the universe she was entirely afraid of losing seriously besides her brother and sisters was no longer Kage? What had become of them then? Genbu, the turtle and snake of Uzushiogakure? Chie and her agents hadn't reported she was dead, so the pounding in her heart was almost entirely now just out of confusion. She adjusted her short-cut kimono and the large obi that held it closed as she descended the stairs. "Whatdya mean San handed you the village. You cyan be saying shes quit? When did this happen, why ya waiting to come to me till after yuhve already been in this position?" She spoke slipping back into the dialect of the Claw people. She huffed a bit before she turned away from Chie and made a motion of her hands that sent the Vortex agents in the room buzzing about like worker bees. The former great snake turned her eyes on Chie, not even knowing that she was now the head of that position as well, and sized her up. She narrowed her eyes into near slits, azure blue raidating around the room as she took in all of what she heard.
"You lead us now? Little Chie, still holding onto the meaningless pieties in de world? You who could barely see justification in burning a forest to snuff out Konoha's enemies? Mi bredren have to follow you?" Kya intended to see just how hardy Chie's constitution had become over the years.
She intended to administer the test as she circled Chie like a hawk, wondering if she was too meek of will to stand before her as the new Shadow... if she deserved fealty. The statue atop the stairs slammed it's jaws shut as Kya made it a full 360 degrees around her. "Mi no tink you're ready. You cyan fool me Chie, with your new clothes and your false certainty. The mother sees all, little pickney, and mi speak on her behalf. Tell me why I shouldn't stomp on yah neck right now?" she challenged as her Sharingan began to spin, just as it had all those years ago when they had fought those UHV agents in the forest. Depending on the response, this could go one of two ways quickly.

Chie was shocked. How did Kya not know that she was the Uzukage? She was also surprised by the accent that her mentor adapted. The woman always seemed to change every time that they met one another. At this point the pink haired woman wouldn't be surprised if the next time that they met Kya didn't even have her sharingan. She couldn't help but sigh when Kya brought up the incident regarding the village fire from years prior. 'It was one time...' She thought as her arms folded to create a psychological barrier between herself and others. She felt disappointed by Kya's claim that she was not ready. It was more than disappointment, actually. There was a deep ping of pain in her heart. However, she had to do her best to stay strong. She was no longer a little girl who could get sad or yell when she heard news which she did not like. She was now the village leader of Uzushiogakure.
"Lady Kya, you will not stomp on me." She said as she looked deeply into the woman's eyes. Her eyes leered as she forced herself into a level of confidence. "My name is Chie Saegahara. I have devoted myself solely to the benefit of this village. I did this through the academy, where I taught hundreds of shinobi over the years. Now my village has called for me to take the initiative and lead her to protect everyone in the same way which I protected the academy. So I can promise you with certainty and conviction that my certainty is not fake. I will protect this village and lead it down a path where its villagers have nothing to fear from rogues and other threats." She finished her statement. She then motioned to the demon child she brought. "Now this girl is one such rogue, but I do not believe her to be a threat. I want that validated, however, before I allow her to stay within this village. So I need all of the information she has on Kogarashi and what her intentions are." She said with conviction. She knew her agenda and was not going to squander it at the first sign of weakness. If Kya doubted her still then Chie would show her wrong with her actions. She was not about to back down today. Not when there was still too much to be done.

The moment the new arrival, Lady Kya as she was called by the kage, made her presence known, Rinka's false eye quickly sparked to life and began scanning her over. As the lenses flicked through their cycle, nothing really stood out to the Oni as being overly spectacular... at least not until the woman flashed her Sharingan into motion. In the briefest of moments, all of the little Oni's attention focused in on the woman, studying her intently and shutting off all other distractions. All outside influences would be lost on her now, not that it would matter; Rinka could really only understand every other word or so out of the woman. Slowly, the telltale subtle clacks of Rinka's arm would fill the undertones of the two women's conversation as she produced a small, crudely bound journal and began vigorously sketching what were obviously blueprints of some sort. Amidst the rough sketches of gears and sockets, Rinka would scribble little notes and questions to herself, though the writing would look like a bunch of rough squiggles to the Kage and Kya... assuming they hadn't spent any time learning the Oni's language. As the two women continued their discussion, Rinka would simply keep sketching and silently mumble to herself in a tongue as equally foreign as her writting. Probably not the best move while trying to defend your innocence to the Ninja NSA.

αKya turned her back on Chie, and with the motion the room darkened further, with blue fame replacing the more typical orange that licked out at the atmosphere. The tongues of azure matched the blue in her eyes as she gave a hearty booming laugh. "You cyan tell mi what mi will and won't do unless yuh have the willpower. It's in you though. The powah to protect and lead. I needed to see it, the fire in yah heart. I admit, yuh still a pickney, a little girl as it were, but inside small packages like us are great strength." She seemed to be content as she turned back, eyes like piercing snake orbs centering on her prey.
Funny thing about the sharingan's perception... she easily saw, by following her penstrokes, what it was that the girl was doing. Drawing something, writing something down. She idly wondered about the popping sound: seeing her chakra network showed her all she needed to see. Puppet ninja. She sat at the edge of the step she had stopped on, taking a deep breath. "Hey, girl. What do they call yah?" she inquired trying to reign in her dialect a bit to be easier to understand as her eyes looked for signs of discomfort or what have you.

A close glance at Rinka's eyes would offer up no secrets to Kya's Sharingan, no matter how long she looked. They had long since been removed and replaced with mechanisms of the oni's own design. At a cursory glance, they looked real enough, but you'd quickly find they were two orbs plucked straight from the uncanny valley if you looked long enough. Her face was a different story. While not the most verbally expressive, Rinka's face was practically a window into her mind; every little emotion she felt was left bare to see. Rinka slammed her book shut with a quick clap, stashing it back beneath her cloak as she beamed a genuinely warm smile to Kya. "I'm Rinka... have to tell you about Kogarashi." She'd briefly pause and take a moment to stretch her arms out in front of her, interlocking her fingers to crack the knuckles on her still-fleshy hand. "Was with them... long ago. Five years? Left the group after fighting UHV at Otogakure. Had friends, Takumi... still with the group. Belemos and Tsuki... they left to join Arashigakure. Tsuki is nice... pretty. Uses swords! I like her, not Belemos." Her tone started very upbeat, but the more she spoke, the more a looming sense of melancholy would hover over her. Her smile soured into a frown. "Kogarashi started to fight monsters... save people from UHV. Now they hurt people. I don't want that."

Chie felt a sense of validation from Kya. Even though she did not fully admit that she was ready to lead the village, at least she was willing to Iβve the Benedict of the doubt. Chieβs body turned around to face Rinka as she spoke. Her language skills were broken, but her accounts spoke similarly to what Takumi initially said the purpose of Kogarashi was. To provide shelter and sanctuary to those who needed it. While this didnβt change her viewpoint on the selfish nature of rogues, at least it did convince her that Takumi truly drank enough of the koolaid to believe his own hype. She was alarmed, however, when there was mention that a good majority of Kogarashi was stationed in Arashigakure. She knew that the organization had numbers she could not anticipate given their political influence, but to imagine that they have situated their ranks inside of another village. Was their village leader aware? Chie was going to have to meet with the Arashikage in order to find out. If her reports were correct than the village was ran by a Jeon Park. Or was it Jay Park? The reports were contradictory, as they sometimes used one name, and sometimes another. Sometimes both names were used. Regardless, a meeting would have to be set up. As she was in her thoughts she was not aware of the changing sky. There was no exposure to moonlight on her, so she would not notice anything immediately. Either way, she expected Kya would use a jutsu to assure the authenticity of this information. It was for this reason that she remained silent as she watched the two other ladies.

αKya was about to speak when, somehow, she felt something take a grip on her body. Almost like as if in her spirit: and not a single living shinobi knew their spirit quite like Kya did hers. So call it surprising when she felt that change that was currently making the village ninja go beyond nuts, unknown to her, also happen to her. Darkish skin paled, eyes were stricken fully red and glowing suddenly with the scelera staining black. Lines of raven crawled along the space around her eyes, and in the moments passing by like eons she felt pressure building up in her gums. She went to question this, but as her tongue flicked her throat tightened... panic started to set in just before thirst replaced any other drives. The flames in the room quickly and suddenly extinguished. In the dark only the glow of her eyes could be seen, her body shaking a bit.
Blood pulled in her mouth where the fangs stabbed through, two sets on top that popped out her human canines and outer incisors... a single set where the canine were on the bottom. Kya took a backseat as whatever this monster was fought it's way forward.
She looked at the Kage. "Run, Chie." she forced out of her desert dry throat as a telling trail of blood ran down eyes that seemed transfixed on the head of the woman.

Chie felt a mixture of fear and tension surge through her body at Kyaβs transformation. There was something visibly wrong with her mentor. The paleness of her skin, the blood which dripped... nothing was alright. She internally scoffed as she tried to think through Kyaβs command and warning. Outrun a sensory ninja. Boy thatβll be added to the resume assuming I survive the moment.β Her hand rose and and an incantation circle arose at each palm. Her arms rose and her circles combined when she had both of her arms above her head. When she did, three hundred clones swarmed the temple. It was the only fodder she could think of to hide her identity. Of course, the real Chie wasnβt anywhere in her shadow clone crowd. She disguised herself as invisible as she grabbed Rinkaβs hands. She pulled hard to try and get the small girl out of there. She wanted to drag her upstairs as fast as possible. She wasnβt sure where she could bring the two of them, but she couldnβt leave yet. The clones only had a flicker of chakra each.

Whether due to the change happening so suddenly, or due to Rinka's own oblivious nature, Kya's affliction wasnt even a blip on the little Oni's radar... at least until the room swarmed with Chies and a sudden force threatened to remove Rinka's arm from its socket. As the Kage spirited away the puppeteer up the stairs, Rinka quickly turned to match pace. "...Was not me... Promise" Probably not the best comment to make right now, but Rinka felt it important to stress that this was not a trick of her own doing... especially given this Kage's particular distrust of rogues.

__ Tetsuhiko arrived in the Temple of the Gods with dozens of non-vampiric actors carrying props. Despite the fact that the whole village was under the influence of the blood moon calamity, Tetsuhiko saw the opportunity to use this motif for his annual Halloween play. It took him forever to find non affected All the vampires were trying to bite his actors so he needed to use his VORTEX clearance to get into the temple for their rehearsal. It took him forever to find some humans He unsealed some iron sand that then covered and blocked out the blood moon to create total darkness over the compound. In the mean time, the players set up the lighting and music equipment. "Alright my spooky friends, get into your positions! This is the final rehearsal before the big night tomorrow!" Tetsuhiko then clapped his hands together and all of the costumed Halloween actors got ready. Tetsuhiko got the sound equipment ready and played loud music that the others in the actual compound building were likely to hear the music blaring. Tetsuhiko was dressed as a spooky mayor with a two faced mask.
"Boys and girls of every age, wouldn't you like to see something strange? Come with us and you will see, this our town of Halloween!" The actors sang and used the shadow and lighting effects. Suddenly, men dressed as ghosts ran around the compound. "This is Halloween, this is Halloween! Pumpkin scream in the dead of night! This is Halloween, everybody make a scene! Trick or treat till the neighbors gonna die of fright, it's our town, everybody scream! In this town of Halloween!" Once the ghost ran off the main area the bed and stair props were rolled out. "I am the one hiding under your bed, teeth ground sharp and eyes glowing red!" The voice crept out from under the bed with glowing red eyes illuminating the darkness briefly. Next, a voice came from under the staircase prop. "I am the one hiding under tour stairs, fingers like snakes and spiders in my hair!" Then the props were rolled away by the players and the coffins were rolled out next. The this is Halloween chorus continued to boom through the compound. "In this town we call home, everyone hail to the pumpkin song!" Three "vampires" sauntered by singing their part. "In hindsight, it might've been in poor taste to cast vampires, but the show must go on!" Tetsuhiko thought with a tap of his chin. Once the coffins were rolled off the main floor Tetsuhiko took to the "stage" as "the Mayor." "In this town, don't we love it now? Everybody's waiting for the next surprise!" Tetsuhiko then spun his body around as his head stayed still with his mechanical puppet body. "Round that corner man hiding in the trashcan. Something's waiting no to pounce, and how you'll Scream! This is Halloween! Red and black, slimy green!" Another couple of creatures including a werewolf appeared from the darkness to deliver their lines.
Three witches then ran around with their brooms. Hopefully the VORTEX agents would not turn this into a witch chase and try to catch them. The last thing Tetsuhiko wanted to deal with would be a witch pursuit. "Well that's just fine! Say it once, say it twice, take a chance and roll the dice! Ride with the moon in the dead of night!" The witches then left the makeshift stage as a group of skeletons and a tree arrived. Tetsuhiko spared no expense on costume design and casting. Halloween only comes once a year after all. "Everybody scream, everybody scream! In our town of Halloween!" More actors joined the stage. "I am the clown with the tearaway face! Here in a flash and gone without a trace!" The clown's voice changed instantly in the middle of his lyric as he "disappeared" with smoke effects. "I am the who when you call Who's there? I am the wind blowing through your hair!" Suddenly, the boogie man appeared. "I am the shadow on the blood moon at night, filling your dreams to the brim with fright!" A cloud of "bats" affect then overwhelmed the stage. "This is Halloween! This is Halloween! Halloween! Halloween! Halloween!" The chorus from the spooky choir continued to excitedly scream out. More actors joined the stage. "Tender lumplings everywhere! Life's no fun without a good scare! That's our job, but we're not mean...in our town of Halloween!" The spotlight then returned to Tetsuhiko. "In this town! Don't we love it now? Everyone's waiting for the next surprise!" Tetsuhiko then waved in the surprise star of the production.
"Skeleton king Jack might catch you in the back and scream like a banshee, make you jump out of your skin! This is Halloween! Everybody scream! Won't you please make way for a very special guy? Our man Jack is King of the Skeletons, everyone hail to the Skeleton King now! This is Halloween! Halloween! Halloween! Halloween! Halloween!" A tall man entered the area with a scarecrow costume that he set on fire with fabulous pyrotechnics. A group of actors then throw buckets of water on him. "In this town we call home everyone hail to the pumpkin song!" Once the flame and smoke cleared with the water and extinguishers killing the fire the Skeleton King of Sunagakure came into full view. "La la la la la la la la la la Halloween! Halloween! La la la la la la la la la la Halloween! Halloween!" Now that the final rehearsal was finished, they were going to be ready for the real show!
Tetsuhiko ran up to his old friend and rival, the Skeleton King and hugged him. "Oh how marvelous! Thank you, thank you, thank you, for joining us my old friend!" The Skeleton King was nice now and returned the hug. "You're very very welcome! It's about time we joined forces!" Tetsuhiko smiled and responded. "They won't know what hit them!" Tetsuhiko then cackled to continue the Halloween spirit.

Chie was able to take a breath as Kya had not yet followed them. She lowered her invisibility jutsu as she looked straight into the eyes of the young oni girl. "The day I believe the strongest ninja in my village could be bested by you is the same day that I resign from office." She said sternly. She did not mean it as much of as an insult as it came across, but the point still stood. There was no way that Rinka could pull off any trick powerful enough to corrupt her former mentor without Kya being aware of what occurred. Still, if Rinka didn't pull off this strike against her village, than who did? And how? Before she could think further, music blared from outside the temple.
"What in heaven's..." She said as she looked out of the window. The sky was blocked out by magnetic sand and mother f***ing Tetsuhiko was outside performing a rendition of a popular children's movie with a slew of actors. The pink haired women felt her jaw drop as she watched this beyond bizarre spectacle occur. Who was he performing for? Why was he performing here? There were way too many questions to warrant an answer. Chie sighed as an incantation circle appeared by her hand. "Tetsuhiko! Do you and your friend there have any information as to anything strange occurring within the village?" She said as the incantation circle allowed her to direct her voice outside of the building and right by the ears of her jonin ninja, along with his strange friend. In the darkness he looked much more like a skeleton than a human, but knowing Tetsuhiko, he was probably just an actor really devoted to his cause. Meanwhile, Chie noticed that, despite a whole performance, no one yet has tried to kill her. This made her wonder if Kya, perhaps, has calmed down.
"Kya? Have you had a chance to calm down?" Chie asked as she used her cicada shell technique to transfer her voice down to where Kya was previously. Should she still be there then she would be able to hear her. Once Chie finished the call, however, she broke the incantation circle. Meanwhile, she looked back at Rinka as she sighed with the fact that she still had a rogue captive with her. "Hopefully we can get this settled soon. I appreciate you not using this opportunity to not try and kill me. As a rogue, I recognize that's probably hard for you." She said coldly. Chie had no charity for rogues, but while Rinka was in Uzushiogakure she would do what she must to keep her safe. After all, a kage is in charge of all things and people within her village.

Upon completing this training, the user suffers no recoil damage from techniques from any non-Rigorous Taijutsu or Bukijutsu Style up to either the highest trained rank in this Style or the highest trained rank in the Hard Physical Formless Style, whichever is lower, and does not suffer damage from striking anything harder than their fists. _β Focal Point ___β The user meditates through combat, taking time to narrow their focus to their Chakra pathways. In so doing, they become innately aware of when they are being observed in combat, and can pinpoint the locations of anyone below their rank observing them within one meter. _β Thread Walking ___β By using Chakra to focus the mind, the user becomes able to balance enough on thin platforms to use Bukijutsu techniques without any penalties. Covers only balancing on solid structures at least one inch wide, not moving or unstable structures. Also allows the user to balance and move on wires during its activation. _β Advanced Thread Walking ___β he user is now able to both run and fight while balancing on threads and wires without penalties, though doing these things at the same time is widely regarded as infeasible. _β Blessed Rain ___β The user's informed of the incoming costs of what is to come, and as such, must practice their chakra control through controlled bursts from various parts of their body. Their chakra pool is increased by +35. _β Insight Rain ___β The user will practice extending themselves into the atmosphere, in a sense. After much dedication, the user develops the ability to sense hostile intent in the immediate area. As to where, however, they cannot be sure. _β Torrential Blessings ___β Having completed all that the user may learn, they have but one task left to complete: the user must practice controlling the flow of chakra, and be sure that their control is the finest that it can be. By doing so, they must repeat the exercise performed earlier with Blessed Rain, all the while, they perform technique to the brink of exhaustion. This training receives no reductions. Chakra pool is increased by +65. _β The Task of the Next Generation ___β Upon the master of the school of Shigure Souen Ryu, it's the user's responsibility to develop the next generation! The user is granted one [1] custom slot usable only for a personal Shigure Souen technique. _β Basic Endurance Training ___β The user practices holding any stances they know in the most extreme weather of their region, as far from anyone else as is practical. After completing practice, the Stamina costs of X-Rank techniques in this Style are reduced by 5, down to a minimum cost of 5. _β Extreme Climate Resistance Training ___β The user spends a great deal of time completely immersed in the most intense weather the region has to offer. Following this training, the user does not suffer from adverse climate effects. Additionally, using one or more of the Pi, Qua, and Quan techniques in any combination increases the user's fortitude slightly for one post, to a max of one [1] descriptive rank per trained level in the Soft Physical Formless Style. _β Advanced Endurance Training ___β The user practices holding any stances they know in the most extreme weather of their region, as far from anyone else as is practical. After completing practice, the Stamina costs of techniques in this Style are reduced by half if the practitioner has used the same technique at some point in the last two posts. _β Pi Qua ___β By repeating the transition between the Pi and Qua techniques repeatedly, the user becomes able to perform them quickly enough that starting with one and transitioning into the other only consumes one action for the post, and also cannot be interrupted if the first hits. _β Pi Qua Quan ___β After learning all other techniques in this Style, the practitioner runs through them all again, stringing them together in the longest combo they can. Following this training, the practitioner finds themselves capable of using all techniques in the Style up to the highest learned rank of the Soft Physical Formless Style for 10 less Stamina, to a minimum of 5 Stamina. _β Acclimation ___β The user acclimates to moving in their armor by wearing it during normal daily activities. After completing this training, the user can move in any armor as though it were properly fitted for them personally. This provides one descriptive rank in strength and fortitude to techniques using the armor per stage learned in this Style. _β Shifting Position ___β The user practices their art by moving across a shifting surface--such as sand or mud--with their armor. Following the completion of this training, the user becomes significantly harder to topple while armored; all incoming techniques that would move the user are treated as one rank lower in strength when determining of how far the user is moved, and the user can no longer be toppled by techniques lower in rank than their armor. _β Knight's Blade ___β The user studies and acquaints themselves with the many different types of defensive armaments, from shields to armor to defensive items like the forehead protectors that Shinobi Villages use. In the process, they become able to apply any armor techniques to protective armaments and vice-versa.
αSeveral things flashed across her face as the many images of Chie appeared among herself. First and foremost, she blinked and shifted gears, using her ability to carve through genjutsu to see through the illusion itself. This, however, didn't help her see through the invisibility ninjutsu, though there were a few signs that she could use to track them if she were in her right mind. Unfortunately for the huntress, she was not in her right mind but regardless this altercation had proved only to bother her. She looked to her agents, each of them also feeling the burning thirst for hunger rising in their throats, and narrowed her eyes. It appeared, in most ways, that she didn't like the thought of sharing her territory, and before her hunt could continue she had to handle that issue.
She was quick to weave through handseals the very second she flung herself off of her perch, rolling backwards through the air before loosing a ball of fire sufficient in size and power to wreck the staircase, landing, and scatter the weak behind her. She inhaled deeply as she landed, realizing it could never have been that easy, but choosing not to immediately act, and for good reason. With the moon's glare blocked, Kya no longer felt the hunger, the fangs or confusion. Instead, the Great Serpent of Uzushiogakure felt only frustration.

__ All of a sudden, he heard Chie's characteristically piercing voice come out of seemingly nowhere. He was startled as if he had been surprised by a ghost from Halloweentown. "Well, everyone is turning into vampires if you didn't already know that! They kept attacking my play troop so we had to relocate and rehearse in here, those brutes!" He turned to the Skeleton King to see if he had anything to add. "Tetsuhiko is right!" As usual, his old friend the Skeleton King would support his point. "Chie! I pinkie swear that none of my Halloween actors are actual vampires and they even promised me that they wouldn't try to steal any state secrets in here!" Hopefully Chie would understand his motives now.
