Creepy isn't bad though? Hamish's nose wrinkled at the idea. If he were to be completely honest with himself, Hamish was a bit creepy himself. He didn't view himself as bad though. The hybrid was definitely being hypocritical, but Lilly seemed wholly unphased.

It seemed to Hamish that Lilly had troubles focusing. Or, perhaps, the the whispering child was just overeager. It was a bizarre contrast. To come across so scattered and over-the-top and yet speak in constantly hushed tones. Hamish had to strain to hear, and worst of all, had to mentally keep up with Lilly's jumping bean of a mind.

Hamish managed to follow the other freshling's line of vision, his own eyes meeting a game that was running that looked like it featured dinosaurs. If Hamish had to take a wild guess, this was likely what Lilly was talking about when she all but demanded they go play together, if the dinosaur onesie was any indication of her abstract interests.

The boy shrugged indifferently. "Alright, whatever you say.
Let's do it."

Harvest had been sleeping in the back of the room, napping through all the commotion of the busy playroom. Somehow the collective shrieks of the playing children were still quieter then the sounds his siblings made back at the farm when they were tormenting one another. Harvest took these rare chances to get some extra shut-eye and avoid the awful pranks that Pod often times went way too far with. Harvest was enjoying the extra shut-eye, his straw witch's hat draped over his four eyes to shield out the light and muffle the sound. The boy had found a rather comfortable spot on a lone bean-bag chair near the edge of one of the carpets, gently clutching his pumpkin plush in his hands.

The hybrid wasn't snoring, but he was mumbling to himself in his sleep, fragile fey wings twitching subtly in his sleep as he squeezed the plushie closer.

Jane's eyes widened even more, in slight shock. It wasn't every day that another kid said hello! But...what was there to do now? She could nod. And so she did, her expression unchanging.

The next words out of the freshling's lips caught her off guard. What did she want...? It was hard to put her mind at work again. It took her a good few moments before it dawned on her. A glance down towards the coloring pages was able to get her mind running once again. "Colors!" she pointed a finger towards the stack of coloring pages. "Are there any with rocks?"

While more freshlings were piling into the room, Vanhi was relaxing a bit. Partly due to her new resolution but also there was something to focus on. Something to keep from thinking on how she didn't know any of these people. It was just like working at the cafe or running down something to her father. Well okay not really but it was always easier when someone wanted to talk to you, at least for her. She nodded along with Maurice when he made his reassuring quip with the claws and gently sank into a bean bag next to him careful not to get her wings smushed.
" relatively, I..." she paused for a moment. Maurice didn't really need to know all the particulates about her family. She didn't want to be boring." I'm not really related to all of them but blood doesn't always matter. At least with my family. Do, do you have a big one?"

Maurice's focus was wholly on Vanhi now, listening carefully and thoughtfully to every word she spoke. Maurice wanted to show he was interested in her. It was something his friend had taught him -- and something he really appreciate in other people. Genuine interest from another person helped build confidence. It had worked for Maurice, anyway.

"I don't think family needs to be blood." Maurice commented, his own wings looking rather squashed under his body. They were sturdy, though. Maurice wasn't worried. "I don't have any family. I mean. I know who my bio-parents are, and they're alive ... but I don't live with them or anything like that. I was a cache donation. My stone got woken up and, well, here I am. I sometimes see my bio-mom from time to time, but not either of my dads. My 'mom' kept one of the stones, though. She's pretty ... " Maurice had to pause to think of the word. He had heard Zabette say it a million times before. What was it ... ?

" ... 'Esoteric'?" Maurice tried. "Basically it means she's in to reading fortunes and likes crystals and talks about auras and stuff. Not all that uncommon I guess, but she's really in to it and runs a pop-up shop. What do your parents do?"

Henry always had trouble finding a playmate whenever he got to class. He was that kid that everybody was hesitant about on account of the bad juju that seemed to linger around the small Geist. Typically during arts and crafts Henry would be that kid who accidently dumped the entire bottle of glitter everywhere or the one Freshling who would always fall and get hurt. He was problematic, and unfortunately for him that often caused the other students to ignore him or try and weasel their way in with other crowds rather than with Henry.

As the boy bounced from group to group he found himself being shut out or neglected in their games of make-believe or story telling. The boy tried as hard as he could to capture somebody's attention and feed off of a potential friendship but he had no such luck. So there he stood, eyes scanning hopefully around the room for his next possible friend. That's when they landed on a rather large and intriguing straw hat adorned with plants that reminded him of Fall. Curiously, the boy shuffled closer, well aware that whoever wore it was in a gentle slumber despite their babbling. One foot after the other Henry brought himself closer to the soft voice until he curiously began to lift the brim of the floppy hat. Beneath he had found a pair of eyes- no wait. TWO pairs of eyes. It was a sight he had never seen before, and had been such a shock that the Freshling let out a gasp and dropped the rim of Harvest's hat right on his cute little face.

Mariana opened the door of the playroom carefully and looked around at the growing group of Freshlings that were starting to accumulate inside. There were so many already....and for a second she worried about something before she shook her head. No; this was a good thing! Meeting others their age wasn't bad....as long as they weren't too rowdy. She smiled and looked behind her, her hand holding that of another freshling behind her. "It's ok, come on; there's quite a few here but it doesn't look that bad." She stood to one side as she let the other freshling with her come in, holding the door open for her.

Tarja nervously peeked in as Mariana guided her in, looking around with wide eyes at all the other freshlings inside. It seemed...overwhelming...but Mariana was here with her. She could do this....right? "A-are you...sure? Everyone looks so....busy...." She gasped when Tarunen, the tail, shoved his head under the girls' clasped hands and moved his head around at all the activity. This place was full of people! People meant fun! Right?

She never did understanding giving up your family to the cache. Sure the adults said something about preserving children for the future in case somenging bad happened but it was just sad. Then again she believed what she had said. Family didn't have to be blood.

" my dad and mom always wanted big families. Dad ended up adopting my brothers Amatsu and Mikazuki and my mom adopted Ila before they got together. Dad was always adamant about making sure people felt wanted. Apparently two of my grandparents tried to do that, give him up to the cache but my last one said that just didn't sit right with him.

Anyways that's pretty awesome. Magic always seems interesting and exciting. I would love to study it as a side hobby when I get older. My family runs a cafe, well my grandfather and father do. My mom owns a flower shop. Dad also... works in security" whoops she almost got a bit carried away there.

Peregrine was the perfect embodiment of the word rowdy. While he wasn't necessarily violent the mentors of fellow Freshlings knew better than to stick their little buddies with the hybrid if they were particularly fragile or sensitive. All the youngster saw in this moment was two new faces entering the playroom and this was a perfect opportunity to make a new friend. With a large flap of his wings the boy bounded over to the new comers and a collected, yet smug expression written all over his face. "Hiya! The name's Peregrine, but to you it'll be Pere. You're just getting here huh? I've been here for a while, but it's getting kind of boring so I might leave soon. Hey, what's wrong with your friend there? They're looking kind of scared." He arched a brow at the peculiar behavior before crossing his arms over his chest to prevent any unexpected shoving. It was an impulsive behavior that often got Peregrine a scolding.

Even Mariana had jumped a bit with the boy had bound over to them so suddenly and so quickly. He definitely had a boisterous air about him and in his voice. She blinked a little as she felt Tarja gasp and move a little behind the naiad. "Hello...um...Pere. I'm Mariana and that's my friend, Tarja...." The young shade's tail nudged Mariana's elbow then. "Oh, and her friend Tarunen. Yes, we just got here. Tarja is a little shy and doesn't like a lot of loud noises, so she was nervous about coming." She looked back at the shade with a gentle smile.

Marzipanz
Of course!

The sudden appearance of the boy made Tarja squeak and hide behind Mariana a little but she was still looking at the boy. Her ears folded a little as she felt a little taken aback, wondering why he just....jumped over like that! Didn't he know he could scare people like that?? Now they were talking about her but when Mariana introduced her, she nodded at the mention of her name. Tarunen leaned closer to Pere and sniffed at him before making a happy, excited sound. "....Taru, you like everyone..." She commented and blushed a little.

Including her because she's Mariana's bestie

It was true, Peregrine was naturally a confident child and often times this lead others to believe he had a sense of vanity about him. Honestly, he wasn't all that conceited, except for the fact that he thought he had the strongest wings of his class. He nearly laughed as the pink beast with a mind of it's own leaned in to get a whiff of the mutant. "Oh! Well, hello there... Tarunen," he chuckled before bravely reaching out his tiny little hand to give the fluff atop this tail's head a nice pat. "Really, there's no need to be a scaredy-cat. Everyone here is pretty nice. Just... stay away from the kids who like to be alone. No matter how hard you try they kid of just want to do their own thingy. I've tried again and again to play games with them, but they just wont go along with it." By playing a game the boy meant rough housing, of course. "Hey, does Taru like to wrestle?" the boy got a twinkle in his eye as he smirked at Tarja's attached friend.

Harvest could feel the draft under his hat even in his sleep. The freshling's nose wriggled, a hand rising to gently and feebly swat at his face. The gesture was more of a flop against his cheek. Subconsciously his mind thought it was one of his siblings bugging him again, Harvest's slumbering mind not recognizing this particular action as a threat or danger.

Gasp!

The sound woke Harvest up instead, his four eyes blinking and squinting out of sync with one another as the hallowed boy woke up out of an incredibly deep and active dream. A few short seconds later his hat was dropped over his face again, the boy twitching from subdued surprise.

"Hnmnnngg ... ?" the boy was not awake enough to form words as he slowly slide off the bean bag chair to his knees, still clutching his pumpka plushie.

"Yah, I agree. Magic is pretty neat. I'm kinda sad that there aren't classes for us and just for the older kids ... but I guess it's to protect us or something." Maurice shrugged, not one to argue or find conflict with adults or authority figures unnecessarily. He was sure the school had its reasons.

"A cafe? That's pretty adult. I've never been to one myself. Then again, I've never been to one myself. I hear that coffee is only for old people. Do you think it's true, or do you see a lot of younger people come in too?" Maurice clicked his hooves thoughtfully together, connecting one of his thoughts to the next. "I was told one of my dad's does 'adult films'. I think that means those R-rated movies where you a guardian or parent with you to see it. I wish I knew what he looked like so that I could tell if he was actually famous or not. That would be kind of neat ... I don't know what my other dad does, though."
