"Please don't stand up so fast." Mairin responded quickly as she wrapped her arms around his waist to hold him up and prevent him from falling again. That was the moment she got a chance to breath and look at the college student. It was the guy from the picture that her cousin sent her. "Is your name Todd? You're Ashley's friend right?" She asked more worried knowing that this was the guy her cousin was trying to set her up with.

"Why yes...", Todd said, failing to contain a wide smile. "And I take it your Mairin. Ashley over here was just telling me all about you. Glad we get to finally see each other." His head was dizzy from an adrenaline of pure love. He was already imagining a romantic dinner for two, a beautiful harp playing by the light of the full moon. One could practically see the hearts emerging from within him, spreading out to express what was inside. Teresa was on the other side of the floor, separated from the scene by a large hole in the middle fenced by a guard rail. She placed a foot on a stair in front of her, and shared a glance with Mairin in the distance. Uh-oh! What was Mairin gonna say to Ashley? Whatever it was, she couldn't stop her from saying it over here.

"He has, has he?" The Irish lass responded to the news as she held him up. "Maybe I should take you to the infirmary?" She suggested as she adjusted his weight against her. She then turned to her cousin. "There's no need for both of us to miss class. You should go on ahead and take notes for this one. I would also suggest that you talk to Teresa, she's been acting a wee bit odd." His cousin told him as she started to move Todd off to the infirmary. Ashley sighed. He had a feeling something was a bit off with Teresa in her mannerism. Maybe he should talk to her. If one more person is worried then it was his job to put all the worries away. The Irish lad turned his head to see Teresa on the staircase. He smiled at her in reassurance before walking over towards her.

In most cases, Teresa would be alright with Ashley approaching her. Right now was, however, not most cases. She cautiously stepped away when she saw him coming, pretending as though she did not see him. Then, she immediately rushed to get to her next class, having left her boyfriend behind. As of now, Ashley had no choice but to continue to his own class, and hope to see her once the school day was over. *** By the time Ashley's last class of the day was over, he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. He was receiving a call from an unknown number. [Finals are over now, so I have all summer to continue this RP.] [Also, hope this jump to the phone call isn't making the story go too fast.]

Ashley could only watch as Teresa dashed away. Something made a lump in his throat. Mairin had said there was something wrong and he could have swore that he locked eyes with his girlfriend. She had to have known he was there. Ashley pulled back. The man had no choice, but to go to class, unless he wanted to be late. ~~~~~~~~~ Class did nothing to cheer Ashley up. His mind was on Teresa and partly on Todd. He hoped his friend would be alright. Neither Todd or Mairin had sent him a text or anything. Then there was his girlfriend. He wondered what was wrong. She seemed to be find up until today. Why was today different. Maybe he should send her a text. A funny thoughtful one that would cheer her up. He had reach down for his phone when it went off. Ashley ignored the call. If it was important then whom ever called him would leave a message. He was like most people in his day and age and didn't answer strange numbers. While he waited for the confirmation, if there was a message being left, he thought about how he would cheer Teresa up. After a moment he looked down to see if there was a voice message and getting ready to respond to it. ((I had finals last week. I'm on summer vacation till August. Don't worry It's fine that you jumped ahead. You seem to have a plot idea and you don't do it in a forceful way.))

No message played from the phone. Instead, there was a short gap of silence before it vibrated again from the same number. Whoever was waiting on the other side of the call wasn't going to let Ashley ignore it right now. What was he to do? Was Ashley to keep waiting until the caller gave up, or would he answer?

Ashley raised a brow. If someone was calling twice it must be important. You don't call unless you really needed to talk to the person. Ashley brought the phone to his ear as he answered the phone. "This is Ashley speaking." He said making sure that the person was aware who they were talking to. It could be a wrong number or something.

The caller on the other side of the phone was someone Ashley had never heard before. They were a man with a deep, stern Italian accent. They almost sounded like Marlon Brando in the movie "The Godfather". "Ashley, my boy. Don't have any worries. This is Teresa's father speaking. I just want to have a talk with you, man-to-man, mono-e-mono. There's something very important I have to address to you. I'll be waiting for you outside of the front doors of the campus. Please come to me immediately."

Ashley listened to the person introduce themselves on the other end. He hadn't really talked to Teresa's father. Whenever they met it was short and brief. They never had a real conversation with each other. Why was it different now? The Irish boy spoke up at the request of them man. "Yes of course. Give me a few minutes and I'll be there." He answered. He didn't want to say a minute and him not show up within that minute. He kind of felt like it was lying to say a minute. The Irish lad adjusted his backpack and started towards the door.

Once he had come to the front of the campus, that's where he saw Teresa's father. He was a tall, intimidating figure with a moustache and greasy hair. Yet, there was also something graceful about him. He was like a firecracker, dangerous to get close to, yet admirable at the same time. He greeted Ashley with a smile, which at first glance, would look genuine. But upon closer examination, it appeared plastic. Whatever his true emotion was, it wasn't friendliness. There was only one way to find out what he felt. Teresa's father open the door to the sleek, black car behind him. "Please, have a seat. Your parents are letting me drive you home."

Ashley held up the keys of his beat up little car. "I have a ride thank you." He responded politely. Teresa always seemed to avoid her father when she was with Ashley. There was probably some reason. It could still have just been that her father embarrassed her with stories of what she did as a child, but Ashley wanted to respect her choice until she was ready to face it. "I can however go for a ride around the block or maybe follow you in my car." He responded. He wanted to be part of the solution, not the problem. He knew not offering any solution could come off as being stubborn and demanding it to be his way. Ashley knew how to interact with people.

Teresa's father replied in a calm, yet concerned manner. "I was hoping to talk with you on the drive. Though if you'd prefer to follow me, we must make a brief stop before we go to your home. I'd like to invite you over to my house for a serious discussion about your relationship with my daughter." Though his words sounded nice, there was still something about him that came off as rather vague and ominous.

Ashley knew he had to be careful with the path he took. He loved Teresa and wouldn't do anything to displease her, but he knew that this man would protect his daughter any chance he got. "I'm sure a civil discussion wouldn't hurt. I shall meet you at your house. I of course know the direction." The man answered with a gentle smile.

Teresa's father agreed to the request to drive himself, and closed the passenger door of his car. He proceeded to climb into the driver's seat, whilst waiting for Ashley's car to appear behind his. Once he saw the car from the mirrors, he began to leave the parking lot of the college, and head towards the house. *** Teresa's house was a rather large one, the size of two average houses combined. From what Teresa had mentioned to Ashley, their family was rather small, and there weren't that many people living within the house. They did have, however, quite a few of expansive guest rooms. It was as if the place had been combined with a three-star hotel. The father parked his car in the driveway near the front door. A red car could be seen next to it, which presumably belonged to his wife and Teresa's mother. He simply left the car, and waited for Ashley. It seems the time to talk was coming rather soon.

Ashley drove behind the man who seemed to want to have a big talk with him. The Irish lad could only wonder what it was that Teresa's father had to ask him. It wasn't like it really mattered about following him. Ashley knew the way. He had been to the house several times. Ashley parked the car behind Teresa's father and got out. He was in this man's territory now.
