"Is it really okay?" Noah sounded anxious. His hand came to rest on Al's cheek, and he looked down at him, troubled and serious. "I never, you know. Before. They didn't really like it when I got mad. My family. So I didn't." It was a long-standing mental block, one that had held him back for much of his life, kept him quiet and pliable. "Do you ... really like when I do?"

Al leaned into the touch affectionately before clicking his tongue and looking Noah in the eyes. "I like your emotions, all of them. They are as much a part of you as anything else. So of course I mean it."

He closed his eyes with a big dopey smile, "It's like finding there's a whole other part of you to explore. Even if it took uh, some major a*****e to bring it out of you."

"Okay," Noah murmured. There was a small wrinkle between his eyebrows, but it was a thoughtful wrinkle rather than an upset one. This would take some processing time. "I don't really, I don't really like to get mad. But I guess I won't make myself not."

"Honestly? I think mad is the hottest one yet." He grinned, subtly trying to play it off as a joke - but honestly? He meant it. He wanted to see more of angry Noah. Just obviously not against himself. His self preservation was stronger than that.
