[ Ignacio - This Is Unbearable ]

The confidence was helping, at least. Ignacio recovered from rolling to the side quickly, even if he was hit once again by the bear. That was fine. He could handle this.

Ignacio prepared himself, before punching the bear once again, slamming his fist into its face. The bear seemed a bit more knocked back this time, though it clearly wasn't down yet. He would probably have to give it one more whack.

[ Ignacio - This Is Unbearable ]

Knowing that he would be able to take the bear down soon, he decided to go a little lighter with his last hit, though while he was deciding just how to scale back, the bear took its opportunity and took another swipe at Ignacio. He winced, and gave a rather haphazard slap back in an attempt to get the bear to stop.

Luckily, it did seem willing to stop, backing off after the slap to go treat its own wounds.

Okay, good! That worked!

... Not that he ever doubted it would.

[ Ignacio - Paperwork Boss ]

Honestly, Ignacio shouldn't have been surprised that the last assignment was, of course, paperwork.

He was admittedly glad he wasn't in Life all the time, if just because that meant he usually didn't have to deal with the same mountains of paperwork that everyone in Life did. Of course, he had heard rumours that some people in the Life Division actually enjoyed doing paperwork.

Ignacio shuddered. Not him.

No, to him, paperwork was impossibly boring. It was the last thing Ignacio wanted to be doing with his time, especially since it required him to be spending far too much time concentrating on getting one thing correct. Still, there were ways to make paperwork manageable. He could turn on some music. He could play some games on his phone in-between getting some work done. He could even doodle on some scrap paper to keep his mind from wandering too far while he did some mental and paper calculations.

In the end, it allowed him to get the job done with ease, even if it took a bit longer than the people in Life would normally like. There was a reason why Ignacio wasn't a Lifer, anyway.

When he was done, he grinned, set his pencil down, handed over the stack of paperwork and happily left it behind to go do something else. Anything else. Preferably before paperwork started leaking out of his ears.

[ Zere, PT 1 - Deciphering ]

Zere felt lost.

He was supposed to do the mandatory courses for his Mist Division, but he really had no clue as to what he was supposed to do.

Frowning as he stared at the map, he grimaced at the directions it gave. He honestly felt like he was going in circles, and he couldn't make heads or tails of what directions the map was trying to give him.

Throwing up his arms, Zere followed someone else instead, getting to the next part of the 'test'.

Who reads this rubbish?

His main weapon is a rather sizeable black whip.

[ Zere, PT 2 - I am the Wall ]

Zere laced hands with other hunters as he tried to hold a defensive line, grimacing at the closeness he felt to other people. It was eerie, and he didn't like it -- not unless he really knew the person.

He never really got attached to anyone -- not after he lost his brother, or his parents. He didn't like thinking about it, and he hadn't gotten close to anyone else since, even though some had been interested.

Shaking his head, he got his head back in the game as he was rammed quite thoroughly, biting his tongue to keep from swearing at the person that had run into him. He was forced to take a couple of steps back, but he held the line with ease, recoiling completely and letting go when another hunter took advantage of the situation and knocked him down when he was off balance.

It was a cheap move, but it taught him a lesson -- always be prepared.

The first hunter had tried to ram him again, attempting to move him... but it wasn't enough to let him through.

Zere glared, gripping the other hunters' hands tight.

"Don't count on it," He hissed, effectively holding the line.

The hunter was slightly shaken, lifting his hands and backing up a good few feet to try to ram a different part of the line to get through. Zere was tired, and already felt beaten up, but he didn't let it show on his face.

He was determined to see this through.

[ Zere, PT 3 - This is Unbearable ]

Zere frowned as he faced off against Gnash, wondering why on earth he had to fight this thing bare handed.

Really, what was the point of this?

Whatever. Might as well get it over with.

Zere maneuvered himself to the side and moved to punch Ghash in the face, of course, getting punched back in return.

He wiped blood from his lip. Oh, it was on.

[ Zere, PT 3 - This is Unbearable ]

Moving forward to punch Gnash again, he missed entirely and was thrown to the side, rolling to a stop just a few feet away.

He managed to get up just in time to see it barreling towards him at full speed.

Damn it --

Each punch felt like a freight train.

Zere felt like he couldn't keep up, and ended up on the ground again and again with each punch, feeling ultimately useless.

[ Zere, PT 3 - This is Unbearable ]

Zere was tired of losing.

He was tired of feeling bad about himself.

Raising his hand, he punched the thing in the face and sent it reeling back, only getting a light punch in return.

"No. I'm NOT going down," He spat, glaring.

Deciding that enough was enough, Zere raised his fist and slammed it down on the bear's head, sending the thing grumbling a few feet away, running to escape him as it licked its wounds.

Zere wasn't sure he won this battle -- it sure didn't feel like a win, and he most certainly thought the fight was a bit one sided.

Rubbing the back of his neck, he figured it would be best to move on.

[ Zere, PT 4 - Paperwork Boss ]

Oh no.

Paperwork.

This was Zere's least favorite thing to do. He wasn't fond of filling things out, but this obviously needed to be done.

He worked through it in a quick and tidy manner, finding it tedious but necessary for some things -- not spending too much time on it, but enough to get by and manage a point for passing whatever this training course --

Zere slowed his writing, blinking. Wait.

This was all training... highlighting the things that other divisions did. And slowly, very slowly, Zere realized... that this was all things that Mist could do, as well.

Jack of all trades, master of none... but often times better... than a master of one.

Their division could do all of this.

They didn't specialize in it, but they sure as hell could pull their own!

Turning back to his paperwork, Zere took a bit more time to go through it, mentally processing the questions and tucking them to the back of his mind for later use, if necessary.

This was boring, but needed. He knew now that this was to help the Mist hunters become better at what they did, not to bore them with the specifics that the other divisions did.

Why hadn't he realized it sooner?

A smile played on Zere's face as he ducked his head down, pushing his slightly curly hair out of his face. Yeah... he liked being in Mist. Things were never really dull, and everything felt like temp work anyway.

Finishing with his papers, he turned them in and moved onto the next task.

[ Zere, PT ??? - The Truth is Out There ]

Deciding to do a little more research to help with understanding the Death division a little better, Zere went to find the information he needed by going back into the human world.

It was fairly easy to fit in -- all he had to do was wear the right clothing, a little loose, a little comfortable, and slouch when one was walking... and bam, you became one of the locals.

Zere was all too familiar with how to mingle in and pretend that nothing was out of the ordinary, and the thought was disturbing to him, but he shoved it away, not wanting to deal with those thoughts right now.

He had a job to do currently, and his intent was to get in, get the information, and get out before anyone started asking questions.

His first stop was the library, and he looked up a few books (as well as found some really funny titles), then glanced around at people having conversations in hushed tones in the library. He picked a book at random, and sat at a nearby table, deciding to listen... and collecting his information that way.

When he returned with the information, he had another job to do - delegate the information he'd gathered to another to turn in.

Compiling all of his work together in a neat and orderly fashion, Zere snorted, gathering the paperwork and giving it to a trainee to give to one of the head leaders. He was sure to take credit though, of course.

4: You do what the Death hunter you're working with did: you delegate this task onto someone else. Pass; +1.

Moon Exercise - I Am the Wall (Retry 1/2)

The first opponent was no challenge at all for the Paxton. "Is that all you got?" She taunted the other hunters.

The second wave made her put her money where her mouth was. Somehow, she overcame them. "Do I really need to continue? I'm clearly going to prevail." Her overconfidence completely distracted her and she didn't even see an incoming hunter knock her down. "Lesson learned. But I'll still succeed."
