"T-tell me what?" He looked frightened for a moment, expecting bad news, only to blush at the unexpected compliment. "O-oh, that was nothing. I w-was just doing my duty. N-no need to thank me." It felt odd. It hadn't been that long ago and yet it felt like months had passed. Back when he hadn't gone a screwed things up massively. It was a sobering thought. "Y-you also did a great job as well. S-so did Joy. Everyone had pitched in to help." He spoke, choosing to focus on the good. Trying to ignore the bad.

"Yeah, everyone did really well." It had turned out pretty well for a Sahara mission. "It was good to see everyone working together and helping out. Still. I was glad to have someone with your training around." "You'll have to teach me some of that, sometime," she said. "I've been slacking on my medic studies."

"I'd be happy to." He smiled, and thought it was small, it was genuine. "I'm a-always happy to teach people the basics." He wasn't exactly a specialist, Actually he was trying to specialize in surgery, but that sort of thing took time and training, and he wasn't a doctor okay. "I-it's really just a lot of practice, knowing how to fold and wrap bandages. with enough pressure to protect the wound, but not too much. Theres still plenty I need to learn myself."

"Great!" Sherry was genuinely enthusiastic about him going over the basics with her. She might have been in Life, and she might always have bandages on hand, but when it came to using them, well. She'd not practiced with them nearly enough. She relied a bit too much on weapons for that sort of thing. "Yeah. I need to work on it, though." She sighed. "Once upon a time I wanted to be a nurse. I'm.... not anything like a nurse now. More, archeologist than nurse." She laughed, and then looked at Jason again. "Is that what you do? Field medic stuff?"

"W-well, sort off..." He scratched the side of his cheek. "B-before I was hunter I wanted to become a doctor. I was actually at college when I was recruited. I had g-given up on that, but then I heard that it was possible to learn similar things as a moon. I've r-requested to be trained as a surgeon, actually..." He looked down at his sheets, smiling at himself. "I've been working in the infirmary for a while now. Just trying to learn whatever I can. How to use the machines, how to suture, w-whatever I can do to help." "I just want to help out. Help people survive. Keep people alive. T-thats all I want to do."

"Oh, I see." Sherry was nodding. "Surgeons are and doctors are certainly needed." She looked back at Jason. "From what I've seen, you're pretty good at it." She was, of course, referring to recent situation with Kai. "Helping people is one of the greatest things anyone can do, I think. I'm glad we have people like you around to do it."

"T-theres always a need for more medics, even just people who know first aid." Jason agreed. "You'd be surprised to know just how many people don't know how to use bandages." Although he couldn't talk; it wasn't like he went about learning to runic things. "T-thank you. " He almost blushed at the compliment. "I c-can only hope do more for everyone." Especially after what had just happened. "I don't know everything, but I can teach you what I do know."

Sherry was nodding in agreement. Always needed more. "We really do need to make sure more trainees get bandage clearance." Sherry didn't say there were other runics she'd never been cleared for, but she DID have her bandages. "I look forward to it. You know more than I do, and that'll be a big help." Sherry glanced around the room. "Any word on how long you're laid-up for?" She knew it was bad if his weapon was tired out, but still.

"I can't blame them though. It's a r-really difficult course." Ah, the amount of times Jason failed it. Good times... He then pondered her next question. "Hmm...I'm not s-sure. Probably about a week. Most of the damage has been healed, but they want to keep a eye on me. Not for too long." Since he'd be taking up bed space that could go to someone else. He glanced at the machines, eying the displayed numbers. "All my vitals look okay, by the looks of things."

"Aha, yeah it is." Sherry had her own memories of the battle arena. It could be tricky. "Not too bad, then," she said with a hopeful tone. "A week or so isn't bad at all." Or well, it was on the worse end of things, but that didn't matter. "I'm glad you can read all of that." A gesture at the machines. "I like to help out here," she meant the infirmary, "but I never really got training on the technical side of things." Sherry sighed a little. Sometimes she felt like she should have done more with the healing side of her division. She might be more helpful then. "So tell me," she said, changing the subject again, "Do you like to read? I can bring you some books or something." She was going to helpful to Jason, at least.

"N-nope, it's r-rather quick I think." All things considered he had gotten off rather lucky. Ah, 'official' training. That was always fun. "I-it can be hard to get training on it." Jason explained. "You have to work here for a while, and y-you need to be competent in what you do before they'd even think about it. I-it takes dedication and lots of reading to understand how things work." Speaking of reading. "Y-yeah, I always enjoy a good book" It had been so long since he'd had time to curl up in the library with some books. "I like, er, Books about learning French...I'm t-trying to learn the language." He'd been slacking in that department.

"Understandable." She had started branching out before she ever got far enough for the real infirmary training. "Good work learning it all." It was a sincere compliment. "Good." She would have to bring him something to read then. "French, huh?" Right, Solia. Sherry had to smile. That was sweet of him. "I bet I can dig up one or two. Give you something to relax with while you're here." She pulled out her notebook to make a list. French, she wrote. "While I'm at it, is there anything else you need? Want?"

"T-thankyou..." He sighed. There was so much to learn, so many protocols, and he needed to approach the right people, make sure he wasn't encroaching on other lifer's or moons. It wasn't like he had a degree to fall back on either, considering he'd became a hunter after a few months in college, and besides the medical books he had read that was all he really had... sigh"Y-yeah." His face was heating up, having a hunch that Sherry knew exactly why he wanted to learn French. "T-that would be g-great." She was doing so much for him, he'd have to make sure he could return the favor somehow. "O-oh, the books would be f-fine" he protested. "You don't have to go to a-any more trouble for my account, really."

Sherry's smile only grew warmer, between his sighs about infirmary work and the color on his cheeks at the mention of French. So much to study and for all the right reasons, she thought. "It's no trouble, so if you think of anything else, be sure to let me know." She was serious, Jason. What had happened had clearly been bad for both of them, not just her. She wasn't even in a hospital bed, which meant she was in a much better position for helping him out. "I'm serious, though. It's no trouble." She closed the notebook and tucked it away again. "Did you want me to get the books now, or do you want to tell me how you and Solia met?" Sherry was curious, okay. "Of course, you don't have to tell me at all if you don't' want to! I didn't mean to pry." The question had just kind of tumbled out.

Being asked about how he met Solia was not a question he expected to be asked, the moon obviously caught off guard with his wide eyes and still blushing face. "E-er, it's o-okay!" "W-well I first her in the library. I was reading a book, talking to my weapon, and she overheard us and asked to s-spar. I-it was a little awkward since we were both trainees at the time, but it was fun. I saw more of her over time and, well, it just happened."
