"Don't be rude," she suddenly said, control of her knife slipping quite drastically as the tip twitched and buried itself quite deep into Mikael's collarbone. The pain started slow at first, and then began to blossom, cutting through most of his Fear Shield.
She sighed and tore the weapon viscerally out from the shoulder. "Sorry about that. Where was I - oh yes - say ahhh. We have to check your tongue and make sure it's okay."

Mik didn't cope with pain well, he'd been really upset when he was younger when he'd skinned his knee falling down and the worst pain he could remember had been breaking his arm another time when he was pushed. This wasn't the arm pain but it hurt anyway. He just cried more, shivering in fear like a terrified rabbit. He wanted to comply with her requests but he was just too afraid.
At least he said Ahh in a more involuntary fashion as the weapon was wrenched out of him.

She leaned in close to examine something, and then patted him with sloppily restrained gentleness on his head. "Good boy. Now mommy's going to put something in your throat, but it will help take away the pain. Keep your mouth wide open."
She began to human again and sharpen the other knife much more aggressively.

Mikael couldn't get free, and even if he had been able to the combination of fear and the darkness that terrified him more than this, more than the hunter who kept sharpening the knife and the threat of what she would do meant that he couldn't move, only shiver in fear.
"Will it hurt?" he said fearfully, before opening his mouth again as if he was at the dentist, irrational in his terror and unwilling to incur her wrath.

"A small pinch," she responded, "Just close your eyes and it will be over."
This continued for an agonizingly long period of time until there was finally strangely enough, a knock on the door.
She ignored it at first, continuing to loudly sharpen over it until the knocking repeated itself several times rather aggressively. With an exasperated sigh, she pulled grabbed the knife and opened the door.
Nobody was there, and white sunlight spilled into the otherwise dark room.
This somehow made her even angrier. "Mommy will be back, just wait for her okay sweetie, just wait right there."
Still holding the one knife, she ran out, leaving Mikael with the other one just within arm's reach. A strange, grey fog was beginning to creep into the room, it didn't have much effect other than make the light from the doorway seem a little paler and eerier. Baneful Mik can try to grab the knife (since he is hanging upside down) by attempting to squeeze his hands through the wire. The cord itself seems to bind weapon summoning, but the knife is made of the same material and can cut through the rope. - Roll 1d6 if he'd like to try to escape by using the knife. If he rolls 1 or 6 he manages, if he rolls anything else he fails, but you can reroll again until he succeeds. Each time he rerolls he takes another -5 damage from the open wound/ the bindings.

Mik did close his eyes, and when he dared open them again his captor was gone.
He needed to get away. She wasn't going to do nice things, he was hurt, he needed Malkam.
The knife. He tried reaching for it, but the twisted wire was strong and unyeilding and he felt woozy and disorientated hung upside down like this.
But there was light, there was light and that meant there was hope.

He didn't train, he was kind of pudgy, he wasn't cut out for this at all. He was going to die. He didn't want to die.
Reaching harder for the knife, he strained and made strangled sounds and endeavoured to ignore the blood.

Just as he was about to give up and resign himself to death he managed to get free enough to seize the knife, twisting himself round to cut the binding cords and to fall roughly to the floor, still tightly grasping the knife.
He didn't have time to deal with how bad he felt or how stiff his muscles were and could only half drag half stagger blindly towards the light, biting back his tears and clinging to the weapon like a lifeline.

Mikael would find himself at the more abandoned sector of the towns next to what was possibly the grungiest swimming pool he had ever seen covered in a film of black ichor. The fog was settling in quite nicely, and the sparse, thin landscape covered in the occasional far dilapidated house did not help make the area any less encouraging. Even the bare sunlight now was turning a murky, thick grey.
He would make it quite far, about three minutes in, before he heard footsteps.
"Oh no you didn't," said a very familiar voice through the fog, "you didn't just leave your mommy did you?"

Mikael made a sound that was more a squeak than anything else as he hurried through the fog.
"I was afraid." he said, panicked, desperate to get back to the facility. "You left me all alone in there."

Silence.
"It's okay," the voice came rather suddenly, much closer, "Mommy won't leave you this time. Mommy won't leave you ever."
Silence again.
And then a hand grabbed Mikael's hair, pulling him forcefully backwards. "Let's go home together."

Mikael anxiously looked around, trying to find the source of the voice. He was so afraid it was difficult to even tell where he was going or if it was even away from her and the danger.
When his hair was grabbed he cried out, but went limp in pain very quickly, going in the direction he was dragged. He wanted to fight back and had assumed he always would if he was put in danger, but just couldn't, reacting like a deer caught in the headlights every single time.

"Daddy left us," she continued, still yanking him by his full head of hair, painful enough that it felt like it was tearing off, "daddy left us, but don't worry, mommy will never leave."
In the madness of the fog creeping thicker and thicker and despite of that, the house so close to them, cold and dark and closed. He could feel her binding his feet again, could smell her blood and sweat and the scraping of her knife and knew inevitably what was coming next.

Daddy had left him, he thought bitterly as he cried out in agony, clutching at her hand in his hair in some vain attempt to make the pain stop, to make all of it stop. He felt guilty that it was to Lawrence his mind reached in his predicament, as any child's mind might go to a parent. He wanted to be saved, he wanted to be loved and it was so hard to fight back when it was put like this.
But he knew that no one would come for him, he knew with the wolf in his mind snarling and snarling at him that she'd never love him because no one could, that in the end he was nothing but a copy of his father and no matter how he fought he'd always come back to this, he'd always come back to fight or flight with no way to run.
He twisted in a sudden motion, still crying bitterly, and stabbed the knife he was holding into her as many times as he was able.

Mik managed two good swings before there was a horrifying scream and she let go of him, nursing her bleeding arm. The blade had gouged deeper than any regular weapon, and she was looking at the gashes now, as if fascinated.
Her face split into an even smile showing almost all her teeth. "You nasty little child, have you been hanging around with the neighbours kids again. Nasty children need alone time."
She summoned her weapon immediately, an oversized ball and chain flail that landed on the ground with a heavy thud before she swung it directly at Mikael's legs, the overweight ball covered in sharp spikes. "Don't resist sweetie, mommy knows bestest." Baneful Damage done: 10 Hp: 45 Charge 1/3 Mik can try to flee or stay and fight!
