Melvin stared back at Mark, not getting why he was making him of all people a charity case - and also then asking for all his stuff after. Clearly he was missing a key point in charities, even if he wasn't a charity-case. "Mark, I don' think that's how a charity -"
And then Lawr showed up, guessing that he either wanted to know what was going on or was heading through anyways. Either way, Melvin crossed his arms and stared back at him. "What? Lowered your standards enough to forgo the wine?"
"And yeah, glad you noticed. Have been dead for a while now it seems." Melvin looked back over to Mark. "If you want anything I even remotely own partially, he owns it. So yeah, I don't own anything." While it might protect what clothes he did leave at Lawr's that he hadn't went back for yet, it was sadly true that all his money had went to Lawr for him to use on fixing and furnishing the house.
This was why Melvin needed cash and was willing to run that errand for Mark. Broke with nothing.

"Yeah dying through prolonged STD exposure is quite common," Mark quietly refrained from mentioning in the files what Melvin died from. "The last dude had a severe case of the-"
His phone buzzed and he checked it really quickly, distracted. "That's fine I can just take the estimated value from J-Lawrence and we can call it even. Whatever was obtained with your money post-dying really."

Lawrence just raised a brow at Mark. "Oh you think you can actually do that?" he said. "No, I don't think so."

"I don't have any money, Mark. I gave him all of mine when we were together." He said very plainly. He didn't think Mark got that he was broke with little to his name.
He did glance at Lawr. "J-Lawrence?" Was Lawr a rapper on the side somewhere.

Mark got as far as opening his mouth before closing it. It sounded an awfully lot like he had just uttered the beginnings of the word 'Actually', but as Deus wasn't even trying to be a democracy, anyone who had tried that had mysteriously retired, and he didn't actually have to inform Lawr if he had any cause to deduct fees.
It was just all 'paperwork stuff', really.
"Yeah cool," he finally said, all his goodwill entirely depleted, after it was successfully confirmed the account transactions went through, "you guys do you. I uh, I suddenly have to go and do uh, division things."
He began to wave and very slowly back away.

Lawrence was mercifully oblivious to the missing amount of money as Mark made his excuses and shrugged his shoulders indifferently.
He'd be angry later.

Melvin turned as Mark felt his duty as charity philanthropist was done which was a bit sad considering he had tried to rile Melvin up to have this meeting in the first place and was bailing out on him. Probably better. The Dead assistant probably didn't need to know more about his personal life.
"I'll be back later to pick up the equipment you used to return it." He said with a wave before looking at Lawr and mouthing the word 'weird.'

"Cool," Mark uttered, still backing away. He was functioning under the assumption that they didn't notice him trying to 'subtly' leave, "Five hundred bucks. Bye."
And then he booked it and fled.
If either of them were looking for him he would probably be in his office, sporting a brand new curved 60 inch HDMI TV.

Melvin stared. Wait. Didn't he just pay him $500 bucks. Why did he say it again?
He looked back at Lawr and shrugged. "That guy needs hosed down." And his office needed flooded.
--
It didn't take long for Melvin to walk back to Mark's office. Certain account transactions had happened and Melvin knew he was to blame in an instant. WHY was Lawr being charged for just showing up and was that all part of Mark's plan? Bring someone with money? Why wouldn't he just steal from everyone then, and why pay him to then ROB his ex-boyfriend?! He wasn't HELPING HIM AT ALL!
"And here I was going to help stop getting him tazed." He muttered, thinking now he should just keep one for himself or runic a few for free for others.
He arrived at the door, staring into the darkness to see a TV. "Mark."

Mark oddly, was not in his office, but another gloomy looking Death Hunter with thick eyeliner and black lipstick was. He was currently fishing through the junk pile with extremely long black rubber gloves and boots.
"No," said the Hunter, without even explaining anything else. "Come back later or I'll kill you."
He wasn't serious was he?

Considering Melvin's track record with being luck currently and just overall was, he decided pressing a man tasked with picking through age-old trash was not a place he wanted to be.
He would have offered to help, but that face did not say help.
Slowly rising his hands up, he nodded. "Yes....that's a good idea."
And he left. It was Melvin's office. He was bound to be back at some point.
