His arm around Chel was still loose, but it was enough to give her a small shake. "You do something like that just to try and save a bunch of assholes again, I'll steal your N64."

"It's Chris'," she responded, shaking with him because she didn't have the energy to resist. "You'd have t'deal with him, not me."

Chel's expression hardened a little. "Yeah. M'just bein' stupid I guess." The distance grew, just a little bit.
"You get a lot of pictures?"

"Yeah." Not that he was in any mood to show or look at any of them at the moment. Chel wanted to change topics, he wanted to be stubborn. "You're being reckless. Heroically so, I guess, but maybe be a little less so in the future. What's the point in throwing yourself out there when people can pull crowd-wide s**t like that and negate it?"
A pause. "Please."

The point was keeping other, more important people safe. She didn't know how to say that.
"Jack Hawthorn sayin' please?" she said, diverting the comment instead. "Now I seen everything."

Don't say that just yet, he wanted to say. Instead he gave her another small shake, scoffing.
"Never liked parties," he said. "Much less fancy parties. Think I'm gonna stay in next time I see an invite."

"You always wanna stay in. So ********' boring." Chel would take every opportunity to go out. She was rightfully cautious when it came to the otherworld, but the moment her friends said they were going she had gone. The thing Chel hated to be called the most was "cowardly."
She leaned into his side, her tiredness finally giving way. "Worst part is I got this outfit all ready fer nothin' 'cause they gave me that silly lookin' suit." She sighed. "I still looked gooood."

"Not exactly the life of the party even when I'm there, so."
It wasn't a shake this time. More of a small squeeze.
"Thought you liked being a prince," he pointed out. "They wear suits n' s**t."

She let out a small chuckle and leaned into his squeeze.
She took the moment to say, "Jack I-" But the thought felt short as she looked up at him, seeing his eyes, seeing him.
"I think s'about time t'go home. I'll wait at Shun's place an' see f'he comes home." She began unwinding the arm, and so many other things.

This time, he didn't mind. It had been a long, long night. There was time later to wonder what had been swallowed down.
"Text me if you see him so I'll know," Jack said, easing the removal of his arm into a stretch backwards as he yawned. "I'll check Connor's later." And Temperance's, he figured. Well...by text anyway, or something.
