Ali Ababva, Lord Xerseis Gone's the wisdom Of a thousand years A world in fire and chains and fear
The crystal dragon seemed to drift into thought, as though to try and remember something. Was that how it happened? It was a colorful way of suggesting that he was the dominant one in that brief interlude. She was rather forward with her.... ah, but why saddle our lovely audience with details of this nature? He maintained his duty to his family and managed to please her.
As it was, we were focused on the crystal dragon, a talking crystal, and the young lad that held onto it so carefully and managed to hear every word.
"The Icy One.... she is dead, if I understand you correctly." Xerseis eyes returned to the crystal. "And if I merely retrieve what is mine and forthwith bury her again, this allows the past to remain buried. Would this be a fair assessment of the situation?"
Alternatively, he could burn everything and collapse the ruins just to be sure. Ice didn't hold up very well to fire.

Oracle Exi The creature blinked and said as if she was reading his mind "Icy Mistress was a turn of phrase. She wasn't called that because she could control ice...at least not that I remember, but because of her personality" the creature giggled soundlessly once more "From what I remember it was her icy unchanging beauty that captured the Kings attention so, that he left his wife and two other mistresses in order to devote all his time to her and even when that didn't please her he named her regent any time he was away from the capital and upon his death." the creature held up its arms and fluttered its eyelashes sarcastically. At his question however she smiled "The icy one I said was buried." she looked at him, her mouth eyes flashing slightly "Clever...Clever little dragon"

Even so, it seemed a suiting pseudonym and name. Sounded like a witch.... Though, regent was not a title he heard often. In recent history, only one other person held it, and she had the very loving support of her people and had the reputation of a stoic old maid. .... Very impressive, when one thought about it, as she wasn't an unattractive woman by any means.
However, his words had again convinced the almost cocky blue whisper to spill more information about this icy one who, again asserted the whisper... was buried.
He frowned. A dragon might bury his house, but that did not mean that he was dead. And he didn't quite trust the way the whisper's eyes flashed as she said what she did. It led one to think that it was very, very possible for him to release something terrible without retrieving his shard... and even if he did grasp hold of what rightfully was his, who was to say that he could handle that which had been buried and just might somehow be alive?
Fairy tales, after all, came from somewhere. Ethe spoke of a goddess from the volcano... who was to say another equally powerful thing wasn't trapped under the ruins...?
Xerseis smile steadily returned as he pondered something. Such a being was killed once.... and recently, at that.
Xerseis shifted his shoulders and his eyes' color changed slightly, for the briefest moment showing the various colors of a prism as he stretched. He then focused again on the whisper.
Feathers didn't stand up well to fire, either.
"Then you would point me in the direction of a trap, little one?" The dragon leaned closer to the creature that was so tiny and yet thought itself so clever. It was fortunate that he was surrounded by those who knew the oracles, otherwise they might have thought that the crystal dragon was losing his mind by talking to an actual crystal. "How can I be certain that what is mine is truly there? And is it even possible, pray tell, to retrieve it without bringing to the air something 'which should remain buried'? For all I know, it is the whisper that keeps that threat still."

Oracle Exi The creature giggled soundlessly once more "If you die you simply become another crystal." she smiled at him "If you live for a hundred years and die you will still become a crystal. I have no motivation to either send you into a trap or keep you from one." she floated around him in a circle "And if you don't believe me just stop talking to me and look at your golden thread and follow it. Your crystal, your first you is with the Icy Mistress." the creature went over and sat on one of his knees "If you want to open the coffin without anything happening, wait five thousand years or if you don't have that sort of time just go at night and hope that shes sleeping"

Xerseis inhaled slowly and then released that breath just as slowly. This was just ridiculous. He was having a conversation with something that was dead for the longest time. If a person, when they died, became a crystal, then what? How long did a whisper last?
Xerseis slowly withdrew and rubbed his eyes. Was this really what he needed out of his life? An unsolvable riddle that may or may not actually benefit him? Why would he go after Xerseis Prime unless it was for vain reasons? At the moment, there was worry about some... unspoken evil being released on the world, and if he pieced together what the oracle said from the words of Thalmus and the words of the whisper, he had a hunch that the evil that almost erased his line entirely might be the very same destructive evil that was warned about for the future.
Of course, this all hung on the assumption that the gods cared at all what happened to mortals. For all he knew, they were crazy and saw the mortals as playthings and resources. Someone sought his eyes, for one thing. That wasn't going to soothe him into safe dreams.
He moved his eyes from the whisper, and as his attention disfocused, he lost sight of the whisper.... and yes... there was a gold thread... that still went out of the window... His eyes returned to the whisper again.
"Then why share so much information with me already?" What the hell did the little blue sprite get out of this conversation? Enjoying the fact that she was talking to someone else for a change? Or that someone could see her?

Oracle Exi The creature rolled her eyes "Xersies prime. I like that" she smiled as she began floating around again "and to answer your unspoken question. No she is not the cataclysm that Thalmas warned you about, but she will be released eventually. Weather its by you or by the one that will tilt the silver scales, or when the stone of her coffin wears away enough. In any case it will be soon no matter what" she said to him and as he began to focus not on the crystal that the creature came from the creature would look like she was vanishing "and I share because you asked."

...... Then the little one was reading his mind. Well, if that was true, he didn't need to say a damned thing, did he?
He exhaled slowly and a sound like a rumbling growl left his lungs in place of a sigh. He then shrugged one arm and lowered his hand to his lap again.
... Well.... if her frozen highness was going to be released eventually.... He wanted to consult with someone on this matter before making a final decision. In the end, this had been a very... very interesting day.
"Thank you for answering my questions, whisper." He lowered himself slightly, offering a bow. After all, the whisper might have just as easily chosen not to answer his questions. He had a lot to think about because she was willing to speak, and also that the oracle had spoken...
The hell have I walked into?
