Asher hesitated, bottle halfway to his mouth, at the idea of strip poker sober -- because, frankly, he wasn't sure he had. All things considered, he spent very little of his free time fully sober, usually indulging in some kind of mood altering drugs in those off-times --<******** it. He drank, eyes sweeping over the crowd. He had neither cards nor the will to organize; strip poker was not happening tonight.

No drink for sleeping with a stranger, surprise surprise, and he turned his own drink around while he considered.

"Never have I ever shoplifted." Decisive, he raised his eyebrows at the lot of them -- and drank.

((OOC SUGGESTION: Please bold or emphasize your 'never have I ever' statements!))

Rodney showed up with a cooled case of pumpkin ale to add to the party stock. The smell of the bread and hot tomato was inviting, even from the hallway. He knew none of it would be vegan, but that was okay. He was mostly there for he company.

He gave Jan a shy smile, and had a seat.

Never have I ever was an extremely embarrassing game for Rodney to play, mostly because he spent it sober. He did want to have some beer.

On the topics of sex, drugs, violence...he very simple had not, and did not. The thought of strip poker made his ears redder.

He held his beer in his hands.

"Never have I ever gotten a tattoo," he added to the game quietly, rewarding himself with a taste of beer for the solitary counterculture thing he had participated in.

Slept with somebody he didn't know? Rob had to take a drink at Jan's statement -- and another, he'd had a couple incidents like that in his life. Finishing his beer, he reached for another one as Asher threw out another Never Have I Ever statement. No, actually, he'd never done that, despite being a punk. He was too distinctive with the dreadlocks and fearful of getting caught. Not a very punk attitude, but he didn't want to disappoint his mum by getting himself arrested.

Another guy showed up with beer, and he gave him an approving nod. Pumpkin ale, good stuff. It was getting into the season for it too. Then the guy made a statement of his own, about getting a tattoo, and Rob had to pass again on taking a drink. If there was one thing he'd likely never get, it was a tattoo -- mostly because he was deathly afraid of needles. But he didn't want to say that, it was too embarrassing. After all, he'd gotten his lip pierced, hadn't he? And that had involved a needle. Nevermind that he had punched the piercer out cold after the piercing was done. He smirked a bit to himself at his restraint for not doing it while he was getting pierced.

He decided to follow up on the tattoo statement. "Never have I ever gotten a piercing." To which he took a drink, the glass bottle tinking against his lip ring. Idly he wondered who would drink, and just where their piercings were.

Jan, being an utter lightweight to begin with was well, well on the road to being smashed, somewhere between tipsy and drunk. He'd gotten away with it by saying little throughout the game but couldn't help but give Mercy a wolfish smile for her comment. "I enjoy a bit of danger of that nature." He said "Risk in the bedroom just makes it more interesting." It was curious that she mentioned it, as through most of it he had not given so much as a thought to the risks. If he'd gotten ill in any permanent or enduring way, he'd simply have dealt with it, as indifferent to his own misfortunes as he often was to the misfortunes of others. "Maybe I come from a little more carefree a time, everyone is so paranoid now."

Strip poker was something that he wasn't as sure he wanted to partake in, it was one thing to get other people naked and another to get himself naked in a group, he'd hardly measure up in body tone, more ribs than man. Everyone who took a sip for his question was duly noted.

For shoplifting he took another drink. Theft was a test, it was control, cunning and power, it was an entry level drug to the more potent controlling arts.

When Rodney arrived, the small man brightened and tottering his way over dropped drunkenly in Rodney's lap. "Tattoos are a distinwisshhing mark though." he said. "No thanks. Want to be changeable." He refrained from drinking with the piercings too, in spite of having what looked like several in his ears, all of them simply for show rather than actually pierced.

"Never have I ever cheated on someone." and taking a dainty sip, he leaned against Rodney

Rodney couldn't drink to the piercings, although he smiled at the question. The red ears spread to the rest of him, his whole face going the same color when Jan invited himself to use Rodney as a seat.

His expression was entirely different at the infidelity admission, looking quite suddenly rather devastated.

"You cheated on your wife?" he asked, softly.

He knew it was...sometimes common. With gay men, but...

Jan paused and looked somewhat confused as he seemed to process the question. It wasn't part of the rules right?

Maybe it was. Maybe answering questions was part of this game, why not?

"Sometimes?" he said before laughing. "I mean.. I had two wives. The second one knew I think she didn't care." he shrugged. Maybe she had cared and he just hadn't cared that she had, after all he'd made the money, he'd been irreplaceable. There had been plenty of saunas to keep him happy and distracted.

"Don't wanta be a downer thoughhh." he waved a hand vaguely at Rodney.

"That's...not something that's important to you, then? Fidelity. W-we, probably should have talked about it, then, because I can't..."

He looked self-consciously around him at the other people, then just took a drink without any questions or prompting.

"I...I don't know. We can talk about it later," he said, very glumly.

Rodney got a half-lidded distant sort of look. Jan touched his cheek dreamily.

"It's ok." he said, and then for good measure, patted it. "It's ok."

He shied slightly at the face pats, as if he didn't expect anyone coming at his face with an open hand to follow with a gentle touch.

He settled though, a little, when nothing happened.

"Never have I ever punched someone," Rodney answered miserably, and he didn't drink to it either.
PostPosted: Thu Sep 15, 2016 2:52 pm

"Awww. You are going to make me more tipsy." he said, finishing off his glass of wine completely again. It was impossible to deny that he had punched people in the past, though he had no intention to go into detail.

Rodney got a critical look though. "You mean not even as a little kid? You've /got/ to have punched someone, thassa /lie/."

"No," Rodney said, "I don't even know if I know how to do it." Was the thumb supposed to be on the inside, or the outside? He'd heard one could get your thumb broken, but he didn't know which.

But also, he couldn't muster up the power behind it. The raw feeling of wanting to harm, of becoming...something, someone, that...

This just wasn't the game for him. There was so much he had restrained himself from. So much he was afraid of doing. So many things he was afraid of being.

"You are so sad all the time." He said with his own little touch of sadness. "M'sure you'd be a really good puncher if you wanted to be. You've got nice buff arms and stuff."

He reached out to stroke said arm, apparently forgetting his and other people's personal space when he was drunk.

"Can you get some more drink for me?" he crooned.

The questions were coming more quickly now, but Zan kept track of every one, noting all the sips and gulps he could see in the crowded room.

Slept with someone he didn't know. Check, technically, but he didn't drink. They'd exchanged names and he'd been sober. That was enough knowing for him.

Shoplifted. Eh. He took a sip, then a bigger sip, then he stopped completely, holding in a coughing fit. The rest were 'no's, minus the punching one, and far more interesting things were happening outside of his can anyway. He watched Jan and his uncertain new human chair, not wanting to draw attention in the middle of the show, but eventually he offered, "Never have I ever never been in love," before leaning back and taking another drink for fairness. Let them all work that one out.

That one, he supposed, he could admit to now. He'd never allowed himself to date, but...

Ben Patternson had gotten married. They'd worked together for five years. When he moved, he asked Rodney if he wanted to move with him and to start a business together. Rodney had turned him down. Did it count, even if he'd never said a word about it?

It felt like it counted.

He took a drink.

"I can't, um, get up," he told Jan quietly. "Which wine are you drinking?"

Lawrence wasn't surprised when Rodney took a drink, he seemed like the kind of person who fell in love with everything he set eyes on, on the world, on anyone who gave him a kind word. Loving likely came as easy as breathing even if sex didn't.

He didn't take a drink.

He hadn't loved anyone and he knew it was a fact, not his wives, not his flings, not even his parents. The concept of being attached enough to someone that you wouldn't simply toss them under the bus was alien and strange. To him it felt like swatting an errant fly, you didn't sit and think about it after it was done, it wasn't even worthy of that. He'd run down his brother on a dark night as vengeance for slights and you were supposed to unconditionally love your family.

He wasn't sure he was capable of it. He shook his head. "No." he said aloud, as if voicing his thoughts aloud.

"Oh." he said. The wine had a name, he was so tipsy he'd forgotten it. "It's the stuff one of the handsome people here brought with them. And if you must, just carry me."
