Rho snorted softly, and bit back a snarky retort. He really was trying to help. She could pass up a hit this time. Looking over at the mention of a shortcut, she pursed her lips slightly with uncertainty. She would feel better sticking to the main roads on the map... but Kian had come along to make the trip easier... "Fine. We can try it." Though she walked with clear indication of ignoring Kian's whistling, it soothed her on the inside during the trek across Sauti.

Despite their spats and teasing and overall discord, the trip seemed much shorter than it would have if she'd been walking alone. As they got closer to the little town of Rayf, her head lifted with curiosity. She could see banners in the distance, and music was drifting on the wind... "Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" she asked out loud. "No one's gonna bother payin' me any mind with a party goin' on."

"Would you rather there be a war?" Quipped Kian lightly as he moved forward with a smirk, "I think this will be quite interesting actually." He stopped moving to look over towards his companion, "I mean just think - they may pass you by, but if you meant something to someone else surely they'll stop and give you a spare glance. Plus, it's a good chance for us to scope out the area and relax. Surely you're tired of walking your feet off." The hybrid stretched his arms, "I especially could use a refresher."

Without waiting for much of a response, Kian moved forward towards the activity. The events must have been in full swing because the stalls were set up and buzzing with life while games and other festivities surrounded the whole area. In fact, the whole village seemed to have been transformed for the festival. Kian smiled - almost like a child's enthusiastic grin- as he continued to glance around. He hadn't seen something like this in a way - not since he had settled in Jahaur for training. He could hear music playing in the wind as the crowd moved around a group of performers and dancers and he could smell the stalls that were beginning to sell foods.

There definitely was all sorts of trouble to be had here and Kian was eager to find out about all of them. All this training and traveling had been rather rigorous and so some fun was definitely in order.

Rho stuck out her lip in a pout. "Just a little break," she resigned. Now that he'd mentioned it, her feet were letting her know how sore they were. It would be nice to sit and just watch. And who knew? Maybe someone in this gathering would recognize her?

As they entered the town, she looked at each building. They... actually seemed familiar, but she couldn't place them specifically. "I've been here before," she murmured to herself. Brow knitting, she looked over at Kian.. and couldn't help smiling herself. He looked quite excited to be there. "They have this festival every waning of the summer, you know." Brow rising with surprise at her own words, she looked out at the festivities again. "Yes... I do know that..."

Spinning on her heel, she grinned and scurried over to a stall selling veggies cooked on a stick over the fire. Digging into her bag, she handed over a couple coins for two of the treat. Pulling off a tender piece, she turned to hurry back to Kian. All at once, she realized she was being too excitable. Quickly, she cleared her throat and calmed her expression. "Here. You should try this. ..Part of thanking you for coming."

Kian was almost absorbed in the festivities until the reaction from Rho forced the hybrid to pause, "What was that?" He asked with a raised brow, "For a woman without memory you are rather knowledgeable." Perhaps then he had made a decent decision? Of course he had just wanted a place to play around in and to take a break - but if it helped Rhonann out then why not take some credit? The thought brought a small smirk to his features. Obviously I am an amazing genius for concocting such plans...alright, I'll stop now. Even someone as amazing as he couldn't stand to be too arrogant - the crowds would tire of him if he kept it up.

The next thing he knew he was watching Rhonann transform in the crowd. This was her place alright. That excitement - it almost matched his own to seeing such a festivity. I suppose she's not a complete party killer after all. Kian grinned as he reached out and grabbed the snack, "Thanks." The hybrid took a bite before reaching out a free hand to clutch the girl's shoulder, "Don't hold back if you want." He mumbled around the food, "If you want to play around then let's do it. I promise I won't tell anyone if you break a bit of character to be fun for once." As he swallowed the food the male winked teasingly before turning away.

"Let's-" Before he could finish the statement a crowd rushed past and some girls stopped to put a ribbon in Kian's hands.

"You two are together, right?" One of them, barely an apprentice she was so young, beamed up at him as she glanced between the pair, "Then take this ribbon to the center later when the sun is about to set. You'll love it, promise! And there's a prize!" Laughing she waved as she ran off with the rest of the group leaving a puzzled Kian with a decorative red ribbon.

"Alright then..." The boy shrugged before he glanced back to Rhonann, "We have some time before the evening hits so let's go have fun...I mean find out about these lost memories of yours."

Pouting lightly, her eyes shifted away to ponder the situation. Have fun... "Break character," she repeated, snorting sharply. She wasn't playing at any sort of character! Jerk. She knew quite well how to have fun!

She stuck her tongue out at Kian's back, but sucked it back in sharply as the young girl spoke up. 'Together?! "N-no! We're not-!" Her eyes darted between the girl, the ribbon, and Kian, eyes narrowing sharply. 'Together?!' Kian may not have confirmed anything, but he certainly didn't deny either. On principle, she reached out to smack Kian's arm. "Way to go," she grumbled.

"I'll find those memories, and I don't need fun for it." Huffing sharply, she turned and marched deeper into the crowd.

Of course, few could resist going with the flow of the excited, playful crowd. It was strange, being surrounded by people similar to herself for what felt like the first time, and yet not. She really had been here before. She couldn't help it when she eventually changed from asking if anyone knew her to simpler questions. What was it like, living in Sauti? Did most people travel? Who lived in the small town, and who had traveled to get there?

Her questions were expanding from her main course, her smile growing and her posture easing. It was... fun~

At the smack, Kian let out a little 'umph'. "What?" He glanced back towards her with a hurt expression, "I'm your husband one night and a stranger the next?" The tease came with a playful wink before anticipation of another smack came with a more sombe, "She did say prizes. Who knows? Could be something useful for a trip. Not like we'll be doing anything romantic - they usually just have some silly race or something like that." At least he would hope so, right? Then again no one could really tell with these festivals.

Kian rolled his eyes, "Maybe that's the problem. You used to be a super fun person and now you're too stuck on being a stick in the mud." He quipped lightly before waltzing through the crowd. While others weaved around them, Kian made certain to try and keep an eye on his female companion. Knowing her the male was certain something bad would happen - either a spurt of bad temper or something broken. Or perhaps he was over worrying just because he may have a shard of caring for the girl. It's for my redemption that's all. Shaking his head the hybrid reached out and grabbed Rhonann before a pair of younglings tumbled into her, "Careful!" With the push of the crowd around them Kian found his arms wrapped tightly around the girl, "Could have gotten yourself a good bruise or two there, Rho."

Their faces less than a breath apart the hybrid grinned before quickly letting go, "Maybe some games will help. I'm sure you did something like those during your childhood." Reaching out to grab her arm Kian lead the way towards a few stalls that had strange gimmicks set up with makeshift toys here and there as prizes. Some even had jewelry while others had even daggers or weaponry as prizes, "See anything that strikes your fancy?" He asked as he let go of her arm. Why had he even latched onto her? Was it because the crowd was so thick? Last thing I want to do is lose the person I'm supposedly guiding I guess...

Rhonann was quite content being distracted by the festival. It really did feel so familiar. She yelped as she was yanked back, blinking with confusion. Looking down at the tumbling younglings, a smirk of amusement rising. She turned back to Kian, and froze. He was so close... "I can handle a bruise," she murmured.

Taking a step away, she quickly focused on the games Kian had pointed out. Right. Games. She could do a couple of those. "I can walk mehself, ya know," she huffed, trying to pull her arm free before it was relinquished. Heading along for the stalls, she blinked when she saw a man staring intently at her. When he realized she was staring back, he spun and ran into the crowd, leaving Rho puzzled. Had he known her? Or maybe he'd just felt awkward getting caught staring. Jerk.

To busy herself, she looked over the various prizes. "Not really." She walked along the stalls, debating trying for anything. If she won, most of the items would just be an extra weight on her back. "Havin' one'a those daggers might be nice," she mused, walking toward the stall for a closer look. She really didn't have anything save for a small skinning knife for defense if anyone got past her bolts. "I dunno daggers though... They look decent?"

"Oh, I know you can walk but where you're going is the question." He retorted before studying the booths before them - something that made him almost oblivious to the awkward pause Rhonann did. The hybrid frowned thoughtfully as he glanced over at the games. Some younglings were attempting to scoop little fishes from a makeshift pond while in another arena archery was set up. Even guessing games seemed popular with a choose your number and another with a rolling wheel that spat out randomly colored balls for prizes.

"What about..." At the comment about daggers Kian had to sigh. That was right he was with Rho and not a typical girl. So much for the cute prizes. He teased quietly before moving forward at her request to study the daggers. "A few are alright quality, but if you're aiming for one then the best is that second to the first prize. The first prize is nice too, but from the looks of it it's more decorative than sturdy. The second one, sturdy though much plainer seems to be more of your style."

He glanced over at the game, full of little holes carved into a wooden board and then dyed with stains into different colored slots. "Looks like that little wooden ball is your friend." He commented with a slight smile, "How good is your aim?" The hybrid waved the vendor over, "We'll take three balls." His hand disappeared into his robes before pulling out a few coins, "Time to see how much luck this lady has." Kian teased before glancing back to Rhonann, "Go ahead?"

Tapping her chin, Rho leaned in to try getting a closer look. Right. She didn't want anything with special frills. It just needed to work well. It was the second prize though... Could she get it?

Looking at the board and the colors, she frowned slightly as she squinted at the colors. The idea was simple enough, but Kian was watching now... Tightening her jaw, she plucked up one of the balls. No way would she fail in front of Kian!

The ball flew forward, but bounced off of the board and back toward them, rolling to a stop at the stall worker's feet.

"Rho, I'm pretty certain you're supposed to get it in the hole." Replied Kian with a playful smirk, "Showing how hard you throw it isn't how to win." He leaned in towards her with a hand on hs chin, "Do...do you perhaps need me to toss the ball for you?" The hybrid chuckled, "Or are you going to do it properly this time?"

Oooh, if anything he was prepared for a smack or some sharp retort. Still, it was amusing in the least and he was definitely not going to waste a chance to tease her. Kian shrugged and pulled back -just in case her fist was in his face next rather than tossing a new ball - "Or are you just trying to warm up? Totally can understand that." He quipped lightly, "But honestly, if you're just wanting me to win it for you say so?"

A little muscle in Rhonann's cheek as she glared at the ball, and then at Kian. Little smartass.... "Keep it up, mister," she grumbled, picking the ball up again. She took a deep breath to even her pulse back down before throwing. She would show him this time!

She gawked as the ball bounced back toward her once again. Immediately, she spun at Kian. "Stop distracting me!"

Kian chuckled, "If you wish." He was full of comments - especially ones geared towards getting that frustration look on Rhonann's face. He did enjoy how her cheeks flushed in irritation and that gleam her eyes seemed to get whenever he was bothering her. The amusement never seems to end. That was definitely one thing he could count on with the wind girl.

As the ball did bounce away the hybrid did have a bit of a clench to his gut. What was this? A guilty feeling that she wasn't winning? Immediately as she snapped at him with her command Kian shoved the feeling aside before sighing, "Look." His gaze was firm as he pointed towards the holes, "Just breathe." The hybrid reached out with a hand to touch the girl's wrist, "A gentle flick not a shove." His fingers trailed over her skin before he pulled back and demonstrated with his hand, "Overshoot it and remember go for the blue or purple, not the red."

Kian winked, "I'll even turn my back so my handsome features don't distract you anymore." That stated he swirled on his heel and glanced back out across the crowd...

'Come on, Rho! Ya do fine when ya practice! People watchin' shouldn't be any big deal!' Grinding her teeth, she nearly snarled and yanked her hand away. She managed to keep a little bit cool though, and simply glared at Kian. He.. was encouraging her. ..What a strange guy. Pressing her lips, she sighed and tried to relax her grip, throwing once more once Kian had turned away.

~~~~ 1-4=Miss, 5-7=Small prize, 8-10 Big prize ~~~~~~
The solid 'thunk' of the ball hitting the wood made Rho's stomach sink into her feet. "Stupid game anyway," she grumbled morosely, spinning to march away from the annoying game. She didn't that stupid dagger anyway! She could find a better one elsewhere.
The thunk made his heart drop. Rhonann, really? The hybrid wanted to shake his head before pursing his lips, "Oh no you don't." Turning back around Kian reached out to grab the girl's arm, "Come on, Rho." He protested before walking a few steps towards her, "You're supposed to be stubborn and such. Don't give up so easily."
Kian turned and tossed the man a coin, "Let the lady play again." He stated simply before handing Rhonann the balls himself, "Just think if you don't manage this time then I might have teasing rights for a whole year over you." Kian teased, "So you better prove me wrong now, okay?" Even if he had to 'turn' the fate of the game himself the male was determined to see this through, "Hell, imagine its my face if you need. That's something you're often prone to hitting."
With the grab to her arm, Rhonann was dragged back, her eyes wide with surprise. "Like I'm planning to let you haunt my shadow for that long," she grumbled, eyes down on her once again filled hands. Now, her crankiness came from embarrassment. A silly festival game had humiliated her... had made her humiliate herself. "You just like seeing me suffer," she pouted, lips pursing to hide a smirk of amusement. To have Kian encouraging her to try again... How weird.
So, she hiked up her arm and tried another throw~
