Connie was pretty absentminded most of the day, a lot of things on his mind. It was weird that he not once spoke to anyone on the bus. Only when someone had accidentally bumped into him on their way out of the bus did he come back to reality, so to speak. Now that he was thinking about it, the field trip was for the Ottoman Empire exhibit at the museum. The content of what came with the trip did not really matter to Connie, who only signed up to get some fresh air away from the school for little while.
Following the students out of the bus, he was confronted by the site of many chattering teenagers, and those looking for partners. Ms. Doherty, the Art teacher, was demanding that the students would find their own partners quickly, otherwise she would for them.
Hesitant, Connie quickly turned his head back and forth, searching for the first available student he could find. The boy would rather not conjure the wrath of an art teacher. Through the crowd of adolescents from Bus 220, he noticed a light haired girl who went by the name Lori. She did not seem to interested in being there, even though the trip was voluntary. However, there was probably only one or two students that actually came for the educational reason. In any case, Connie quickly paced over to her side and positioned his face before her own.
"Hey, I'm Connie. So, um.. do you, like, need a partner? I know I do." softly chuckling, he then glanced over at the teacher, "I don't wanna get on her bad side and be forced to paint the Sistine chapel, or something." he stated, jokingly of course. He was not exactly sure how this would go down, but he did not have time to worry about such things.
While people chose their partners, she stood with her arms crossed, leaning against the wall, distancing herself from the horde of adolescents. A sigh found her as she realized that they’d overlook her anyway. It didn’t seem to hinder one fellow from approaching, though, a boy who introduced himself as Connie. Lori’s expression was subtle, a small rise in her brows identifying some astonishment. “Uhh…yeah, sure.” When she realized how she could have come off as rude, she tried to smile, just a little smile. “Lori.” Her hand found its way to the opposite shoulder, stroking it to relieve herself of any social anxieties.

Giving a sigh at their teacher's last call, Roman looked for individuals who maybe without a partner. His eyes continue to wander looking around only to see several pairs matched up. He was losing hope at a rapid rate about now. And just as he finds a clear path to someone; they're swooped up (just like that) by another guy. Roman damn near face palms but instead slowly drops his shoulders. Yep. ******** me. he thinks to himself.
Seeing there are no more choices in sight, Ro looks toward Regina and slowly begins to make his way towards her. Once he does, out of awkwardness, he rubs the back of his head looking at her. "Look, I don't want to partner up either. But since we're being made to, we might as well deal with each other. That good with you?" it was kind of like a half-assed negotiation on Ro's part but he admittedly didn't really know how to approach the situation...not that he was thrilled about being in it...

The boy's eyes perked up at the mention of her friends. "Yeah, of course. Fine by me.." He answered plainly. Did he have a problem with them tagging along? Not really, he expected groups to merge eventually and it would seem weird of him to show some kind of distaste towards the idea. He didn't doubt that he'd be talking to what little friends and or acquaintances he did have on this trip. With an sigh of relief that the teacher made the last call, Thomas nodded to his field trip partner before stepping up to the doors of the museum. With a firm grip on the handles, he yanked the doors open, stepping to the side of the left door as he allowed students to flow into the building. No one really bothered with a thank you or anything, not that he needed one. If anything some passed by as if there was no one on the other side of the door holding it back.
Charlie had pretty much blended into the background. He had been on the less full bus that had apparently arrived later than everyone else. He pulled the headphones off to hear the teachers, apparently they where to find partners. Charlie picked the nerdist looking kid that no one had approached. He took pity on the person considering they where both unpopular for different reasons. He was new, it was about his third day at the school so he didn't have much of a reputation as of yet. He amused the kid's random excitement about the trip, Charlie on the other hand could care less. Sure he enjoyed history, but the trip for him was more of a scenery change. Him and his partner stuck more to the back as the entered the museum.

once they had all paired up Jillian and the european history teacher led the student into the museum. "Thank you" she said with smile to Thomas who had decided to be the door person. as the other teacher checked them in at the desk Jillian addressed the group "alright we need to keep voices down, you can still talk amongst yourselves but remember you're here to learn." luckily the rowdy kids seemed to listen this time. apparently the threat of a bad grade on a easy to pass field trip worked. She helped the tour guide pass out the little pamphlet they where all getting as visitors. "Now I don't want to see any of these on the floor when we go to leave or made into paper airplanes" she said eyeing a student that had literally started folding his up in to a plane.
Their conversation was interrupted ironically yet again when they went into the museum. The place was quite big with a higher ceiling in this area. "I wonder if they got a gift shop here, I like getting little souvenirs" He said in a slightly more hushed tone to Ameryth. He looked over the pamphlet when he got them from Ms. Doherty, passing the extra one to Ameryth. "Ooo they do, we should see if we can hit that up afterward" He was partly oblivious the fact he was being a dork, he usually had fun no mater what.

⤏ Smiling after his response, she spoke up after him. "Good, cause' you're going to be in for a shocker." Pun was indeed intended, but it was ironic to her--and her friends. Speaking of them, they were near the middle of the longline of paired students. It was until Caleb noticed Issy that Alec and Abby approached them. Isabella moved to the side of Thomas as he politely opened the door for the handful of students that walked in. The chaperone was probably the only one to thank him. Abby turned to face Thomas and asked, "Are you always this gentleman like?" Alec and Caleb re-introduced themselves from the cafeteria without the need for Issy to intrude in their intros. A conversation soon broke out between Alec and Issy regarding the scheme they spoke about during the bus ride. "Issy, when are sparks gonna fly? We've been out here bored for awhile." His tone was starting to go from relaxed to a bit impatient. "Soon enough, let's just get in." Abby then turned to her and asked her in a whisper loud enough for Thomas to hear given she was in fact a loud mouth. "Does he know about your---?" Issy shook her head as she looked at Abby. Abby of course scoffed and smirked knowing of the possible outcome this could lead them into.
So what can you show me, That my heart don't know already? We make our own sense, And you're qualified to me.
Ameryth looked over at him as he spoke, stating that he was fairly normal, but also that he was in choir. She smirked back at him and began to walk away a bit. "I don't think I can be seen with you after all..." She joked. Seeing as she was considered odd at school, she wasn't exactly one to talk. The teacher spoke then, finally allowing the students to enter the museum after handing out guides. Amer gave Thomas a friendly smile as they passed through the doors, before reaching the front desk. The English girl took the paper that Zach handed her and flipped it open all the way, letting her eyes graze over the headlines as her partner said something about wanted to look through the gift shop at the end. She looked back over at him with her eyebrow raised as he let out a noise of excitement over it. "Shall I leave you and the pamphlet alone for a bit?" Ameryth asked him, her sarcastic tone popping through as they waited.

Connie took notice to Lori's subtle body language, but did not want to assume anything of her. He ignored it as he returned a friendly smile to her, "Lori? I think you're the first Lori I've met." Connie heard the door opening, and the mob of students began pouring into the museum. Though Connie would have liked a little more time to get to know his partner for the day, there would be plenty of more time for that inside the building. Giving a quick glance at the open door, and then back to his partner, Connie gave a slight shrug, "I guess that's our cue, yea?"
Connie did not want to insist her, but he figured she would not be allowed to just stay there, and so he waved his hand, a gesture for her to follow, in his most polite way. Connie made his way up to the door and noticed Thomas, who was speaking to a few other students. Slightly nodding his head to Thomas, Connie continued his way behind some of the students. His motion halted, however, when Ms. Doherty began to speak again. As she explained the conditions of the students behavior through the duration of this trip, Connie grabbed a pamphlet from the tour guide and thanked the tour guide. Connie had opened the pamphlet and looked inside, not really seeing anything that peaked his interest.
"I never really paid much attention to these Otto-guys." he stated towards Lori. "What about you," he then asked as he looked directly at his partner. "do you like this kind of stuff?" he only asked in curiosity, and for small talk. He was not too concerned on whether she truly liked this subject or not. He was not one to judge people, anyway.
Zach smirkeded at Ameryth's joke. "Well I'm sure you noticed I'm kinda dorky." He replied. She joked about him and the pamplet needing some alone time and he couldn't help but cuckle. "Nah too many paper cuts" He joked back. Ameryth seemed like she was funner than people gave her credit for.

“I get that a lot.” No, she really didn’t; no one ever really inquired on how eccentric her name was, seeing as she didn’t really have any friends and seldom made acquaintances. However, the response seemed appropriate at the time. He was likewise the first Connie she’d met. While she’d met a Connor, none had ever really gone by that particular nickname.
When he gestured for her to follow, she lifted her back off the wall and followed him inside, taking the pamphlet that was handed to her. Afterwards, he tried to strike up conversation by asking about her interest regarding the Ottoman Empire. With how awkward she could be at times, she would’ve understood if he’d been quiet towards her the entirety of the field trip. It took her a moment to think, but she would answer. “Umm, sort of, I watched a translated version for a show about them with my mom a few times.” Lori was referring to a Turkish historical fictional television series called “Magnificent Century”, but she never provided a name, because she assumed he wouldn’t know what she’d be referring to, nor would he care if she talked about it.

Regina glared as soon as Roman neared her vicinity, and her expression only worsened at his choice of words. “What kind of shitty attempt to partner up is that? You’re going to ‘deal with me’? No, that isn’t good with me at all. I may as well get written up and thrown into detention.” She faked a smile; her tone was blunt and unforgiving. “No. It’s, ‘Hi, Regina. I don’t see why they haven’t asked you yet, but I don’t have a partner either. Would you like to be my partner?’ Is that so hard?” She outstretched her arms and then lazily pointed at him. “How can you instruct a team and not even know a damn thing about how to ask a girl to join you?” Afterwards, she crossed her arms and turned her back to him. “Hmph.”Jerk.

Well, this went horribly wrong. Thought Roman as he listened to Regina give more than a ear full. She obviously wasn't a fan of his way to attack the situation in the slightest and in fairness he could've been more warm about it too. So, he takes the full brunt of Regina's anger, letting her finish before responding. Letting silence feel in the gap between them for a minute or two while he gathers the words to say to her. Ro looks up at the back of her head, which was super awkward lemme tell ya, and begins to speak. "You're right, I was wrong. I was a idiot. I should've approached this better. I just didn't know how to, okay? You're pretty brutal...like all the time so I thought the blunt approach would be best. So let me try this again." Roman says, daring to touch her shoulder in an attempt to get her to turn and face him. If he doesn't get slapped first for doing this he would go on to say, "Hi Regina. I don't see why anyone else hasn't asked you but...I would really like it if you would be my partner for this trip."

What she expected was an earful, a bunch of harsh words to counter her own, the typical response she received, but they never came. Instead, he told her she was right, and seemed convincingly sincere, which astonished her. It was subtle, but her shoulders loosened up, despite his hand, and she turned, her face revealing with raised eyebrows what her shoulders couldn’t: disbelief. Not only that, her expression looked as if it even held regret or guilt, seeing as he responded so maturely. How he described her as brutal was something she never really thought about, since it came so naturally to her.
Her fingers met her temples, stroking them as she closed her eyes and sighed. “I’m sorry. I just get so frustrated over little things, and I don’t know why.” When she opened her eyes, that same hostility she had from earlier—the kind of glare she seemed to always have—had vanished, and her tone was significantly nicer. “I wouldn’t mind being your partner.” After swallowing to ease herself, she spoke again, “Let’s head inside, yeah?” With them being the last to partner up, they shouldn’t have made their chaperone wait any longer. It seemed silly to get worked up over partnering up, and how he responded made her reevaluate how she had judged him, how she had been too soon to assume the worst.
