Aylin Post 1: Biroki had Aylin working with the lanterns this year, a task she always loved. She’d been running around helping where she could all morning, braiding string for the wicks one moment, checking on the drying paper the next, setting out supplies for guests to use later that afternoon when decorating would commence. It was all so exciting and she was swept up in the joyous occasion. So swept up infact that she hadn’t realized there was a familiar face working alongside her until she took a moment to pause when the tables began to fill.
She could never forget the face of her first opponent from her first tournament and she closed the distance to approach Ondine with a cheerful smile, yes they had traded blows- but it was all in good sport and she had enjoyed facing her in combat. Well, now she did, at the time she had wavered between abject terror, base instinct, and overwhelming surprise with her magic. It looked like Ondine was speaking to another girl their age, but she approached all the same noting the topic of conversation was the very tournament at which they had met. She waved to the pair as she approached, “Serin’s greetings to you both! How have you been since the tournament?”

Lixes - Post 4 Lixes looked down at the lantern that he was working on at the moment before he blew his bangs out of his face, something that lasted but a moment before they fell back into place again. Looking at his brother he sized him up a moment then said, "You think that Seirin would make me taller of I asked?" He was the same height as their Earthling father, while Drexl was starting to get closer to that of their Alkidike blooded father, meaning that he was always going to be this size. How was he supposed to be a hero when he was so short? Wouldn't that make the hero business difficult? He had yet to win a race against his brother, on the ground or in the trees, which worried him a bit. Wouldn't he be made even slower when he got the hammer that he wanted so much? Giving a nod of his head he said, "I think I'm gonna offer that as a little side prayer. I don't want to seem greedy and ask her for too many things when there are so many people asking for things." There were a lot of people gathered, which meant a lot of prayers being offered up. He didn't want to seem selfish because he was asking for something as silly as a few more inches in height, but still, he didn't want his diminutive size to hold him back from being a hero!

Drexl- Post 4 Drexl looked over at his brother. Looking a bit down at him the bigger male understood what his brother was asking for. He smiled at his brother. "It couldn't hurt...I like you as is, but I understand. People can judge a tiny hero by the size of their body not the size of their heart." As he gently painted a pattern on his lantern. The youth put his thoughts into his strokes, thinking that perhaps Serin would see his message in his art skills. The youth wasn't bad at painting. Rather the opposite...it was a trait he didn't expect in himself. He wasn't going to complain. As he finished the youth looked to his brother. "You think Jerami really isn't here?" he half muttered, half said loudly with a underlying sigh.

Xilarn Post: 4’Make a presence of myself.’ Xilarn scoffed immediately at the words, because to him, it sounded presumptuous and arrogant to say any such thing. Like he was doing these people a favor by speaking to them and learning about them and letting them notice him. Or gracing them with his spiel (for whoever could tolerate it). Not that Xil expected much else from Oban nobility, but maybe he was starting to just vaguely hope for a little more from Damis. A hope in vain.
If he was recalling his youth correctly, the royals would be out ‘making a presence of themselves’ sometime in the near future or very recent past. He couldn’t say for sure when precisely their great parade was, only that it was around this time of year, per his memory. With a quiet hum, Xil took a deliberate stride to plant himself immediately before his young companion and dipped into the most mockingly low bow he could manage. “Of course, ssssire,” he hissed around a show of teeth. “The plebeian majority is clearly in desperate need of your presence. How ever would they get along without knowing you were here? Or, more pressing still, how would you get along if you had to manage on your own?” He straightened, flicked a dread over his shoulder, and strode farther down the canopy platform, tossing a teasingly muted, “I just can’t say…” behind him.
Ridiculousness was what the whole thing was. He could function well enough on his own, and he had before. So he’d be hard-pressed to say he needed ‘personable interaction,’ regardless of whether or not it was wanted.
“It hasn’t been decades since I’ve been in Jauhar, if that’s what you’re asking,” Xilarn informed him. “I used to come… perhaps two or three times a year before I had Aki to take care of. Significantly less after that. Though when I first ventured into this jungle, there really were no inhabitants besides Shifter and Alkidike and their hybrids…” His gaze flicked to an Ice man and his (maybe?) daughter that were openly watching them. He’d hardly so much as caught the man’s glower before the younger female was ushering him away. Xil responded in kind, reaching for and tugging Damis nearer to him as they moved off. “I suppose you could say it’s more diverse nowadays.”
He tossed a wary glance back, then muttered in a significantly quieter tone, “No, I only wanted it because you had it. Taking it is less enjoyable if you’re just going to give it to me and buy another.”

Lixes - Post 5 Giving a little nod of his head Lixes said, "Yeah... what if people don't take me seriously?" He gave a humming sound before he finally decided, "I might ask for that as a side prayer, I mean I'd rather ask for more important things first. Not to mention that, if I get as strong as our Dad, nobody will really pick on me for being weak." They weren't foolish enough to mock their earthling father for his height after all. He just had to make sure that he was able to gain that sort of strength and respect, even if that meant a lot of training on his part. Looking up from the lantern that he was working painstakingly on, one that wasn't looking nearly as pretty as that of his brother, he looked around the area, "Hmm... I haven't seen him... but hey, if he hasn't made it you can always seek him out later? If you try to visit him after the festival you might not get spotted by the rest of his family." He couldn't help but to tease his brother just a bit. Truth he told he found his brother to be rather brave in that aspect, wanting to spend time with Jerami even knowing that he had as big a family as what they did, only his family was all females save for Jerami whereas their family was all men. Turning his attention back to his lantern he said, "That might be a good side prayer for you to try out, getting in good with Jerami's family." Here was to hoping that the Goddess Serin could help out his brother with such a thing.

Drexl- Post 5 The bigger of the twins chuckled. "That might be a good idea." he blinked as he thought on what he should do next. There was rumors of a few beasts lingering in the woods that shouldn't be there. Perhaps he and Lixes could go out and bring back a few alive? Would boost their reputations while allowing for some monetary gain. He looked at his brother as he set down his lantern. "Hey. I got an idea...there's rumors of beasts about the woods that are from the dark isle. Think we should go after a few to bring them back alive? Would bring in some extra coin for the house as well as do something for our reputations?" he offered the idea out of mere curiosity.

Jerarda Post 2 Jerarda looked amongst her kids and then to Animah, who had tried to lay down the law but did it in a very meak sort of way. She loved Animah very much and her family but sometimes it felt like she had to be the firmer parent at times. Looking to Shima she gave the girl a look which was largely a frown. "Shima, least I remind you that we are being gracious to even allow you three to come to this festival at all. You are all still grounded so please don't push it." Turning from her daughter she gave a sigh before nodding her head. "Yes let us get some food." She informated the rest of the family members.

Shima Post 2 The young girl frowned, sulking as she was lectured by both her parents, although one more so than the other. Their mistake being pushed in front of their faces and ruining any chance of fun they could possibly have while here. SHe really wanted to play the games, and she thought about sneaking off to try them but it would really only end up with her getting in more trouble than before. Looking to her siblings she crossed her arms over her chest and gave a huffing sigh. She would play along for now...and in a pouting manner she sulked along towards the food stands. Her attitude of course quickly changed as the smell of food wafted in her direction. Food was always an easy way to change her mood.

Jerami - Post 2 Jerami looked around at his family members one by one, then gave a soft sigh. Well, he supposed that was kind of the answer that he was expecting. The fact that their Alkidike mother didn't seem to be open to the idea of games was... well, expected. They'd done something that was on the foolish side after all, so they were going to be grounded a lot longer then they had already been. He felt as though it would end up be some time between when Aisha sprouted wings and flew away and eternity. Whichever came first. Maybe they aught to see about making lanterns to appeal to Serin for help he thought to himself, hands clasping behind his back, doing his best not to smile at the thought. Naw, they had been the ones to run off, so no reason to as a Goddess to get them out of that trouble. Instead they should merely pray for peace for their homeland and prosperity for their family? The getting their freedom back thing was something they would need to figure out on their own, though he wasn't even sure where to start. Lifting his hands up he patted both of his sisters on their shoulders, giving them both a smile, "There is always next year, Shima, Jhana." He told them, then after a rapid twitch of his antennae he added, "If we aren't still grounded by then that is." That part was said as a whisper for just his sisters before his attention went back to the food that they'd hopefully be getting their fill of sooner then later.

Ikkio (Post 3) : ~~~~~~~~~~Zumurundi panted happily and, after only a moment's hesitation, licked her face with a pointed tongue. Oh, how happy he was to see her. Or, well, smell her. She looked different than the person that the scent was associated with, just a bit, but scent never lied. "Zumuru..." Ikkio's voice was still thready from lack of air, but there was anger and threat in it. How dare he defy her, how dare he run from her? She looked up to glare at him... and stopped. There was some sort of Alkidike hybrid near the big green creature, but Ikkio ignored that. Her eyes, instead, were locked on the prentice that Zumurundi was lavishing with affection. In any other case, where Zumurundi behaved in such a way, those yellow eyes would be burning with jealousy and Ikkio would feel almost obligated to torment the object of his affections. In this case, however, they were wide with recognition. Her hair was different, and she was older, but the eyes, the face, the sweet and cheerful expression, the dark crystals on her arms and legs... It's her Ikkio thought, stunned, it's Ikuri. But that was impossible. Ikuri was dead, she'd fallen off a cliff. There was no way that she could have survived. But here, in front of her, there was hope. She wanted to come closer and see if it really was her, but what if she remembered? That could be troublesome. Still... if it was Ikuri... Ikkio made a decision. She stayed quiet and stayed back, watching. She'd make damn sure that it was Ikuri before showing herself... unless Zumurundi forced her hand. She hoped he didn't.

Volkarosh (Post 4) : ~~~~~~~~~~Volkarosh nodded at the shifter who approached, recognizing them as someone else from the tournament. She moved aside to give her more room in what appeared to be their little group. It seemed she had been on the right track - the other hybrid had been part of the prentice bracket. And this one too? And they knew each other? Interesting. "Well, thank you." she said politely, assessing. "Refresh my memory, which rounds were the two of you in?" The newcomer was shorter than her. Volkarosh couldn't tell what class she was (or, rather, was going to be) just from looking at her. And she, too, was familiar - which fight had she been in? How far had she gotten? This was, she could already tell, going to be an interesting conversation.

Ruelash (Post 3) : ~~~~~~~~~~
Okay. The Tournament. Ruelash had missed it (and he wished he hadn't, he really did), and he considered fighting to be a decent topic of conversation... topped, of course, by an actual fight. Still, he listened with interest. How had the youngsters fared in the fight? He'd been in the first one when he'd been about their age. He'd made it all the way to the second to last round, even up against Alkidikes and more experienced warriors. He was very proud of that. There was a lantern stand nearby, and he felt himself drawn to it, like a moth to a flame. He left the kids to talk, listening to them even as he wandered over to make himself a lantern - not for the sake of prayers, of course, but for the sake of... the light? He just liked the lanterns. He picked out some wicks and dark paper, and began crafting...

Aylin, Post 2
Aylin was glad to have people her own age to talk to, sometimes it seemed like there were never other prentices about in Ast, so she smiled to the tan hybrid and responded enthusiastically, “I faced Ondine in the first round and actually made it to the second. Then though … ,” she let out a chuckle at the memory of the second fight, “... I was thoroughly beaten in the second round. I’m still surprised I made it past first though, as a prentice magic wielder I ended up matched against two strong opponents in gauntlets! What about you? Oh sorry, I’m Aylin by the way.”
She looked quickly to the tables where lanterns were now being constructed. There still seemed to be plenty of supplies, and it was early enough in the process that there wasn’t a huge mess to clean up yet, so it appeared she actually had time to just enjoy the conversation. She motioned towards the tables and suggested, "We can work on our lanterns while we chat. I'd love to hear more about what you did at the tournament."

Lixes - Post 6 Giving pause in his creation of the 'most beautiful lantern ever' the blond glanced at his brother, giving him a thoughtful look. That did sound what heroes would do, right? They would take care of local threats to begin with while trying to get strong enough to take on bigger and bigger things. It sounded like the best way to go about it but what of their parents? Their earthling father in particular, if he learned that they were trying to take on beasts from the toxic island he was bound to be displeased. They were his 'babies' after all and he wanted them to stay as far from danger as possible. Still, how would they become heroes if they didn't try? "It might prove to be a difficult task. Not only dealing with the beasts but actually getting to them given... well, obvious hurdles. We should try though." He gave a smile as he added, "After the festival though, I don't want to miss anything that is going on... not to mention that if we end up in trouble nobody will look for us because they are too busy partying." Not a risk that he wanted to take, not when his brother was involved. Turning his attention back to his lantern he continued to put pretty, if messy, crescent moon shapes on it as decorations. Best that he appealed to a Moon Goddess with moon designs because then she might be more willing to hear their prayers and maybe fulfill some of them! It at least made sense in his head.

Volkarosh (Post 4) : ~~~~~~~~~~"Volka." she said, gesturing to herself. It wasn't her full name, but even her mother admitted that 'Volkarosh' was a mouthfull. Not unlike 'Arronthain', to be honest. "I was up against a much older prentice - a Matorian dagger wielder. Her skill exceeded mine." She said it frankly, though her feelings were mixed -- Equal parts respect and frustration. She was fairly certain that her opponent had outclassed her - had outclassed most of the bracket. Volkarosh had nothing against the woman, as she'd carved her way into the finals... "I believe she took the win for our bracket." she said. There had to be something wrong there. She should not have been fighting in that bracket. No matter. It was past, and Volkarosh had learned a few handy knife techniques, should she go the way of the dagger. "What about you?" she turned to the hybrid. "What is your name?"
