LavvytheJackalope Another question! Are ghouls capable of controlling the effects of their bite, or does it happen every time no matter what? Like, a ghoul with a paralyzing bite. Would a person always be paralyzed if they were bitten, or could a ghoul stop that function and just bite them without that effect? Ghouls cannot control their bite ability. They're like snakes, it's just a mixture their body conjures up. Either like a heavy mixture of hormones that changes the persons behavior (until their body filters out the imbalance), or some type of chemicals that effect the individual (some might be like drugs where they're more relaxed, some might make the individual sick like injecting them with a food poisoning, etc, etc). Keep in mind the harsher the effect, the shorter amount of time it should last. A single bite can't really inject someone with enough of the excretion to keep them paralyzed for longer than a couple minutes at best (in Hale's case). But his brother's bite which just makes the individual feel woozy and faint takes a few hours to fade away since the person's organs need time to filter it outta their system. Their secretion is nothing magical-based that they have any influence over. They can't do a bite that allows them to control someone's movements. They might be able to cause hallucinations, but they won't be able to control the hallucinations. They can just inject the mixture and that's that. Ghouls do have control over when they release the secretion, though. When they are eating, drinking, or chewing gum they obviously aren't gonna be shooting out that secretion all over the place (It would be exhausting too. They wouldn't be able to produce enough to keep up!). So they can just bite someone normally without releasing the secretion if they want.

Ok, perfect. controlling the release of the secretion was the main thing I was wondering about. Thank you as always!

Commander Mars Do they have any good schools and universities in Saxon? Do they give scholarships? o .o; Yes of course. They're like any other city in the school. Some are great and have awesome professors, others are 'eh'. The only difference is there are many more majors to do with the races. Magic opens up a huge range of jobs and skill sets people can learn to master. So just like there are technology schools in our world... Saxon houses tons of magic schools, alchemist programs, and all sorts of nifty stuff.

Are psychic mages strictly telepathic, or are there telekinetic psychics as well? Are their abilities limited to one or the other?

LavvytheJackalope Are psychic mages strictly telepathic, or are there telekinetic psychics as well? Are their abilities limited to one or the other? All of them have the ABILITY to do any range of powers that fall under "psychic". But it's impossible to learn all within a lifetime. Think of a professional athlete. If you're athletic, you pick one sport to master and become one of the best. Different builds are needed for different sports. Some a basketball player who works on jumping high will be extremely different than a football player who eats tons to try and get a build like a brick wall so they don't get knocked over. They're both 'athletic mages' but fall under different categories and skill sets in this example. Different skill sets take different "brain muscles". You can give the character whichever psychic skills you'd like them to have learned throughout their life. Just don't be cheap with it. If they're skilled in one area, make them weaker/not know how to do others. As long as they ain't OP as s**t it's fine. This goes for all mages too! My first character was almost an earth mage that was only good at controlling flower petals. He was pretty s**t at controlling any other types of nature. Like embarrassingly so. Since flower petals was all that came naturally to him when he was younger, he never used his powers to avoid getting made fun of. Then by the time he was full grown he had to work on making flower petals work instead of branching out and trying to learn all the s**t he avoided as a child. So stuff like that is fine too.

I got a question about born slaves. Do they have schools or training programs or anything to teach them skills they would need to perform special jobs and such? For example and more specifically; if you want a slave as a guard, and you want him to be the offspring of a slave you already own who is not a guard, who is gonna teach this kid his s**t?

For example and more specifically; if you want a slave as a guard, and you want him to be the offspring of a slave you already own who is not a guard, who is gonna teach this kid his s**t? It depends on their situation. 9 time out of 10, if a slave has a child they're given permission by their master to do so. If a slave were to get knocked up and they didn't have permission I imagine the master would simply have them get an abortion. It's really bad to have extremely young children in slave shops. Slave shops aren't adoption agencies. Most people don't use them for that purpose. Anyways, as for their upbringing, it really depends on their environment. If the master wishes to pay for the slave's child to go get an education there are a lot of private or trade schools that are set up for slaves. It can teach them useful skill sets. Slaves don't have to be educated though. So sometimes a slave can keep their child and they'll grow up learning housework and helping out with the family's needs. If that's the case, their parents will probably teach them things during their down time each day. During the teen years it's pretty common for slaves to give up their kids and they'll be placed in a slave shop. Families might not want the second slave for life. They were raised in the home and are now grown up, so while the parents will probably keep contact, the child will be placed into a shop. Slave shops will often hire people to come in and teach them skill sets (as it'll help them get sold off quicker). So if they see a good candidate for some type of guard, they'll hire someone to come in and teach them the ins-and-outs of the job for maybe two hours a day or something. Lastly, if a slave finds themselves in the Slaver Division for some reason or another, they'll go through a process of mental evaluation and rehabilitation. The Slave Division works with a lot of like... Consider them "foster homes" for slaves. People who take slaves home with them, teach them skill sets, and return them at a later date. It's their job. They'd get the most individual attention in a scenario like this. Then once they are done with the slave, they'll be placed into a slave shop where they can be sold off. So while you're building their backstory that type of training can come from a lot of different places! If you wanna ask about a specific possibility let me know.

Thank you for the info! I think that answers it. Just to be sure! A wealthy person could definitely pay someone to train their slave as a fighter however they wanted, yes?
