"You're already assisting with it as much as possible, Kuroda. There's little to be done. They're searching the bay and the surrounding area for more bodies." Or parts of them. "... and once that dies now, we're back to the case going cold in Ashdown. You're welcome to go over the case files and I'll share some of the notes I have about this side but chasing it in Ashdown leads to more dead-ends than anything else." Jeremiah paused in the alleyway, eyes focusing on something a moment. "I'll not turn down assistance in looking into it on this side of things but I would also advise that you need to get acquainted first before you dive head in. other ashdown is not so forgiving of that."

"Very well. I would not mind looking over the case files anyway," Shun shrugged. Once Jeremiah paused, he did so as well, peering down the alleyway to see if he could spot anything. So far, there wasn't a whole lot of interest that he could pick out. "And of course. I am trying to gather up whatever I can. To try and get a somewhat solid feel before jumping all the way. I would like to assist however I can, though."This whole thing was an issue for him, and he wasn't keen on letting it up.

Jeremiah was not turning down Shun. It was more that there was little to be done in Ashdown. "You're welcome to my office and looking over the files while I'm there, as well as working with me while Michael's body is still in custody." It would not be for much longer, however, as the parents were wanting to bury him. The detective pushed Sunny's voice from his mind, not thinking about what she had said that day. "I expect that unless there's some other twist, some other force at play, we may not see any more activity until Adoelle is due to make an appearance in August." Jeremiah's focus was on the chainlink fence that kept the alley separated. To his eyes it looked different, the world slightly warped and out of focus where someone had clearly used some kind of heavy duty wire cutters to get through. "We'll be able to get back to Ashdown through that hole," he told him.

Shun nodded once, keeping that in mind for later. "If that is the case, that gives me some time to acquaint myself. Hopefully there will not be any unpleasant surprises between then and now," he stated, staring at the gap in the chainlink fence. It didn't look like much to him, but then again, he hadn't exactly seen anything prior to suddenly jogging into this realm. A glance was cast towards Mercer, before he took a few steps towards the fence. Then, he went ahead to step on through the hole.

The moment he stepped through the hole, Shun was back in Ashdown. Jeremiah was stepping out - as if out of thin air - several seconds later. His shoulders rolled and stretched, a hand raking through his hair. There was a bit oddness in that they were actually not in the same alleyway, but down the block and closer to the college. "It's safe to expect that there will be surprises," he said finally, looking at Kuroda seriously. "It's the one thing that is always true. As it stands, I would prefer that you keep the investigations separate. While the truth we know is that the teenagers are over in other ashdown, that is not what reports state. What evidence supports is dead ends as most of it is hearsay and gossip." Even if some of it was true; all the old stories were. "The physical evidence tends to be contrary and lead to more confusion, elements not making sense at all unless you consider what we know." Jeremiah shrugged lightly, shaking the umbrella on his arm to get the rain off of it.

The sudden shift in temperature was once again, a little jarring. Shun blinked a few times as his eyes adjusted to the brighter lighting of Ashdown. There was a quick glance over his shoulder, just in time to see Jeremiah stepping into existence. He quickly realized that they weren't exactly where he thought they were going to end up too. This spot was different. While he took a moment to reorient himself, he listened to Mercer, nodding to the older man. "Very well. That should not be a problem. The truth of the matter would not likely tide over well with the general public anyway."

"Not now but that may change in the future. Eventually we may reach a point where the truth will have to be known but for now we're at a stalemate." Jeremiah shook his head, hand flicking dismissively. "If you've got questions, you can get a hold of me later. Likewise if you want to get back over on purpose I can help." A wry look was given. "Mostly you're likely to find yourself there by accident than because you want to be there."

"I do not look forward to that time," Shun grunted with a shake of his head. "Very well... I will keep that in mind," he stated before checking his phone to see what time it was in their world now. After pausing, he stared over in the direction of the college for a moment. "But for now, I should be on my way. Thank you for ah... getting me out of there."

"You're welcome." Then. "I didn't exactly enjoy being in there for an extended period of time and I was, at least, dressed for it." Shun had not been expecting it. "Give me a call if you want to go over anything." Jeremiah's head tilted, a slight incline of his head to say goodbye. "Just keep your eyes sharp, Kuroda."
