"With onions?" she asked somewhat meekly. Chel didn't bother with pants but had the decency for undergarments. She trailed after him as though they were two kids having a playdate. That's all this was to her really.

"I like onions."

"Yes, yes," he nodded while he fetched some of the needed things. He went ahead to toss some rice and water into a rice cooker. After washing his hands, he began to chop up some extra ingredients to add once the rice was done.

Chel did smile at that. He was a friend whether he liked it or not.

She watched him move the ingredients around and it reminded her; "Have you tried uh. Floating stuff more?"

Shun glanced over his shoulder.

"Eh?"

"Y'know like. The celery."

A low grunt escaped him.

"Well I still am able to do it, if that is what you mean."

"Mm. Me too." She opened her mouth to say more but thought better of it. Best not to drag what little bit of a good mood they had going back down to the depths of the Otherworld.

She idled by the counter, feeling a little lost with nothing to do. She always had to be helping somehow. "Feel better at least?"

"...A bit," Shun admitted. Once he finished chopping up the extra things, he set the ingredients aside, then glanced over at the rice cooker. It was going to be a little longer before that finished. So for now, he just lightly leaned against the kitchen counter.

"The real question is 'for how much longer'?"

"Hm. I'd have t'know more t'tell you." She put a hand on her chin. "But I think in most cases s'usually up t'you."

"Probably not for long then," he mumbled. Shaking his head to himself, he lightly folded his arms over his chest. Just thinking back to the situation prior to this was already darkening his mood to some degree.

"Ahhhh ah. Seeing yer doin' it." She knew better than to touch him but offered a single pistol hand, like a shoot up. "Don't make my hard work fer nothin'."

(Though Shun was the one doing the hard work, really. Badum tss.)

"You have to remember that I am hardly the most cheerful man around town," he deadpanned as he gave her a sidewards glance out of the corner of his eyes. He saw that hand.

She put on a face- his face. "Yes, yes."

Shun stared at her in silent judgement. He continued to do so until the rice cooker went ding! In which he went to fetch the rice and started to toss everything into a small wok he had. There were onions, peas, bits of chicken, and beansprouts. It took little time to actually make it.

"Help yourself."

Onions. The true way to Chel's heart.

It was starting to feel a little like a friend's house. She knew where the bowls and forks were, and helped herself as suggested. Familiar.

As she dug in she couldn't help but be a bit envious. Was it the best bowl she'd ever had? No. Was it better than hers? Yes.

"Hey teach me how t'make this some time. ********' good." She was sure Chris would love it too- though his favorite was always dumplings. "You learn how t'cook on yer own?"
